I've been driving for almost 2 years. I make good money, BUT the glitches in the app are annoying. My screen is currently stuck without a map to show. This has happened before. It was that was for weeks. I have restarted my phone, reinstalled the and updated... Still no change.
Their driver support is the worst. I have been driving for lyft for about 6 months and in all that time not a single one of my issues has been resolved by the support, I had to do everything myself. The app will also log you out automatically when in destination mode during a streak without a warning reseting the streak. And one occasion 2 of my tips have been removed and once again the support were useless. And why is there no contact phone number?
Fix your app! Longtime driver, but with iphone. Recently moved to Android. This app is terrible! Did you even test this?? No speed limit in lyft nav. App never has connectivity. App will NOT notify of pings when set to car Bluetooth. I've tried all of the volume settings on the phone. No matter which setting is turned on, the app exits nav and zooms out, making it impossible to stop at the correct pickup spot if you don't know the area. Auto dark mode doesn't work!!
Do not use the "Drive to Destination" option - the algorithm does not work properly! It will literally take you Southwest even if you're heading Northeast direction. I am not sure what the algorithm is calculating but it can't be distance and time! IT KICKS YOU OFFLINE WITHOUT NOTIFICATION. If you are on "head to destination" to pick up a scheduled ride...it will turn off before you arrive and give it to someone else. It is poorly navigating time too.
The most recent update to the app has resulted in a major deficiency. The navigation feature is no longer opening into the Lyft interface! When I, as the driver tap the navigation tab, it will open into the parent Google navigation maps. This is ineffective nd poses a hazard when driving passengers. This defect needs to be resolved because as a driver I have to go back n forth between screens if a rider makes a change, like adding a stop or updates the address. GoogleMaps doesn't recognize such.
Navigation is Horrible, wrong directions. Google maps, waze should be an option Passengers give their way to destination. Navigation makes one go around 2 blks to get back on the street passed instead of simply turning around. Address of destination flashes quickly, have to ask rider destination address. Navigation using landmarks however is Great . Customer support chat is horrible whereas a simple phone call could resolve the problem. Took 6 days to get funds from Direct card to my bano acct
It's terrible design that you have you have to get to gold tier to see trip details. Uber defintely takes out too much money but at least you're not driving blind for how much you make per trip. The incentives for their perk system are not worth it because they should be basic features available to all drivers. I was going to make the switch from Uber but not any more.
Just switched from iPhone to Android and noticed right away that this app is extremely buggy and glitchy on the Galaxy S22+. Location is lagging and the app is extremely glitchy and acting very weird. Makes me not want to use this app at all. I also noticed massive battery draining. My battery is draining faster than my phone charges. Please update your app please so it's supported for this phone.
5/16/22 App uses up your destination filters even if you only set one and want to adjust the time you get to your destination. Also doesn't play navigation audio through loudspeakers only will play through Bluetooth. I tried adjusting every setting I possibly could with no success.
The app especially navigation is outdated the past week I had trips that were canceled and speaking with support they claim it was given to someone else because I wouldn't arrive on time. And both cases I accepted the trips with the pickup time under 5 minutes. Addition I've had a problem we're picked up a customer where the navigation was and they were at the other end of of the mall. Add to navigation telling me to take one exit the passenger tells me another add that they had the same problem
App switches to dark mode when it enters navigation, regardless of dark mode setting selected. It's unsafe on a sunny day. Lyft denies the problem exists. GPS also spins and frequently fails to accurately follow my location, causing confusion and lots of unnecessary and inaccurate route recalculation. Lyft support is entirely useless for drivers since the IPO.
To many connectivity issues, that result in you losing money, by missing rides, during or at the start of a bonus streak or during airport pickups. This makes it harder to make money. When you try to talk to someone in the chat about your issue. It goes nowhere. They just send you a bunch of prescripted notes. I can't stand it
It's not accurate and often has me lost due to the app not giving the right directions. It also freezes up and won't let me see where I'm going so I often have to cancel the rides due to the app no working properly. Once this problem is fixed, lyft will be much better my opinion. The first one was better.
Can't even open the app. It says Driver application data. I've switched to data wifi, closed apps and NOTHING. Update: I accessed the lyft app over on the browser. Had to update my data. Talked to support about it, uploaded my files and now the app is working.
Since I installed the app, and have been using it, the only issue I encounteed was when it comes to navigating to a pick up or drop off at O'Hare airport. It does not show which terminal the pick up or drop off is exactly until you reach there.
Now this app, at one point in time, was absolutely amazing! They did bonus zones that would make your week. Sadly, this has disappeared ever since driver experience and incentives have all but disappeared and become, through their own words, unimportant. You know, they don't make any money other then the billions.... Now, this is a sorry version of Uber, and that hurts to say. I see absolutely no reason to continue on with this one here. No zones? it's dead to me
Unable to access account. After logging in I get msg: "Unable to get drive application data". After going thru the process of load vehicle info, driver lic. info and not to mention time and money waisted getting vehicle inspections. It would be great if there was a way contact someone either by phone or "contact us" option. Nothing! No help at all. So thanks for nothing Lyft.
The service is decent however they clearly have people who can't read entering information. I have been fighting with them that my insurance is not expired for almost a week and they refuse to fix it so I'm not able to drive. They also refuse to give a phone number to speak to someone to resolve this recurring issue.
This new update is terrible, I am not getting rides even tho I am consistently in the busiest part of my city. When before the update I never had any problems like this. Its like I'm invisible to the app when I see other drivers doing pick ups. Of course Lyft Support was absolutely less than helpful. This is ridiculous.
Horrible, I was able to set my account up but I can't go any further then that. Keeps saying "Unable to get driver application data" could you fix it please. Otherwise it's just a waste of time !
Nothing is working lately. I updated my driver photo because I look different now. It's been months of showing a "clock" symbol. Customer service has been sub par. Lately I've had problems with express pay that has taken too long to correct. Great for earning money. But beware support is not supportive of drivers lately and the app is riddled with errors.
Lyft has changed the time frame of the points system to maintain tiers to month to month. This has caused me to have to work longer hours on only a few days (eligible days) a week to keep my "status" instead of having more than a month to work up to and maintain it. It is highly inconvenient for me as a driver. It reset my points to 0 after I already had made more than the necessary points to maintain my tier the next 3 months.
I jumped through all the hoops, passed all the background checks,(went on checker to find out) and waited over two weeks, and the app wouldn't open past we are waiting for your report. I waisted resources I didn't have to apply. Then their is no way to even contact anyone. LAME!!!! Update, got approved! I love it!
Constantly being asked to drive 20 minutes to pick someone up for a $3.00 ride. They have to start paying for travel time TO the pickup. With the price of gas, you can't make any money. Also, navigation has become unusable - crazy routes, missing roads - had to switch to Waze for all rides. Driver support is the worst thing I have ever experienced. There is NO PHONE SUPPORT. You chat for hours with chat reps who keep passing you off and just read from a script and can't help with anything.
You have to make changes . Google map does not work properly. Not showing correct addresss. Application hang up most of the time. Please do correction in software programing.
Destination mode picks up passengers going opposite direction. Stopping and waiting after drop off near the location causes me to go offline. I'm ok and will call if I need help. Don't need to be automatically signed off and lose my bonuses streak bonuses. App is constantly glitchy causing me to lose valuable time and hundreds per month. As you near bonus zones, they dissappear or retreat to make u keep driving aimlessly.
Terrible support in everything. The lastest: End of year tax info is always wrong. Driver history is always missing a week or 2. I tried to keep up with it this year, but I waited 1 week too late to get info and now it's gone. Support took me in circles and never resolved the issue. I've been using the Uber platform a lot more now. I'm never missing info with Uber.
Update the maps. Your app is running on a 3 year old version of maps. It gives incorrect locations and is horrible when you get close to the location your supposed to be at.
Lyft is getting better with their app though it still can use improvement. For instance, I will not add on deliveries until it is a seperate function from rides. Like Uber, I want the ability to turn it on or off depending where I am driving. Another item, for me to switch the catagory of rides I will accept, it takes 7 screen taps to accomplish that while the Uber app only takes three. The pick up and drop off location marker needs to be improved, it is not accurate.
The app is beyond terrible. - It's difficult to find various settings. The app is just overall clunky - - There's no notifications for any chats you have with Lyft support. - It forces my phone to lose data connection frequently (no issues when the app isn't running). - It causes my phone to overheat when running the app while charging wirelessly. -Android Auto integration is terrible
