First two experiences with Lynk: missed an appointment (we did arrive, but late) and then had to cancel a dinner reservation because no taxi ever showed up. After an hour, I called, and the rep said they couldn't find any taxis for my booking (made well in advance. Ireland needs other options, this is absolutely ridiculous.
Had a Promo code for the app which didn't work, fine not the end of the world. just a bit frustrating. pre-booked a taxi today and it doesn't book the taxi in advance it just looks for a taxi at the time you booked for. Had three drivers cancel on me and ended up missing my train brcause of it. Do yourself a favour and either get a different app or go the old fashion way and hail a taxi because this isn't worth it.
being a very disabled man Lynk always looks after me excellent . very friendly staff and the drivers are also nice and do be on time most of the time. With Lynk even if my taxi is going to be late they will ring me in advance and notify me. not many companies do that. And they never close which is really helpful if you use the Lynk App and you have money but not on you. the Lynk drivers can still pick you up. overall fantastic service
The app itself is easy to use and gives you the option of paying by card or cash! It also has an option to use promo codes, which may come in handy eventually. My favourite feature is that when you order yourself a taxi, it will count down the minutes to it's arrival. Overall, great experience.
I have been using them a good but lately for ordering wheelchair taxis and the service has been super. Sometime it's hard to find an available one at the time but they will keep updated all the time.
Ridiculous app takes your booking hours in advance then waits till the time of your booking to tell you cars aren't available leaving you late for whatever appointment or work you had, lost count of the amount of times this app would say no cars available only to ring the rank and have the drivers say "that's weird I was 5th on the rank, there's loads of cars". Waste of time these apps
I gave my last journey 3 stars as time and again, several drivers accepted and then cancelled as the app assigned driver after driver after driver. A driver did eventually take the job and arrive and was very nice but at that stage... too late. Customer care very obviously not top priority. I understand a driver may have an unavoidable delay etc. Once in a while but several times in a row?
If I could give it no stars I would, terrible service, prebooked long in advance for a taxi, at the time they were due to arrive get a call saying they will be 20mins late, that's fine, 40mins later no taxi and no phone call, ring the service and they haven't even dispatched for a taxi, waste of my time completely. Deleting this useless app and company
never pre book a taxi from this company as the system doesnt work. instead of assigning you a driver in advance the apps waits untill the time of your booking to try to find you a driver. by that stage its too late. second time this has happened to me. going to uninstall this app. totally useless.
Even before I downloaded the app, their service is very horrible. They will book you a taxi on the time you say you needed to be picked up, even when you already told them hours before. Sometimes they don't have an available taxi, but when they do, an hour has already passed by and you're late for work. I hope a better taxi service replaces lynk.
Your taxi has arrived, ahh the map says he'll be at least another 20 minutes if you can trust it. The app keeps changing it's mind about where I am even though I'm standing outside and google maps can pinpoint me. Pointless app with flaws as simple as these.
Do not prebook a taxi via this app. it doesn't work, they're never on time. They look for a taxi at the time of your booking, rather than having one teady in advance. I've been late for work twice because of this nonsense. Helloooo, MyTaxi! Good riddance, Lynk.
it's an absolute joke of an app...get a text for a pre booking but the app says you have no booking so it cant be tracked. it doesnt even deserve 1 star. The local cab company are very professional and have never let me down but it's nice to be able check a booking
The Lynk app is brilliant and very easy to use but they also have a call centre and the staff are very friendly and great to deal with.. the taxi drivers are very pleasant at all times and I would highly recommend Lynk to all of my friends and family
The functionality of the app itself is fine but the prebooking service is terrible. Have been let down several times now - latest prebooking over 30mins late. Gave up on it, opened the mytaxi app and had a taxi at the door within 5 mins.
Overall a poor service. The updates of the app make it worse to use everytime. Is some excellent drivers however there the minority and the majority are scam artists. I get the same route everytime at the same time so i know the fare is €17-19 and im happy once its never over i give anyway €20. The scam drivers run meter before they arrive or arrive earlier then booked and run the meter especially if paying by card fares of €21-24. Cash is better. Called support and they dont care basiclly.
very poor sign up and usability experience. And after all that, the drivers didn't turn up. this is my 2nd or 3rd time to try this app and consistently the drivers are late or don't arrive at all.
Booked a taxi for 7:00 the night before, waited half an hour for the taxi before just ringing Lynk to cancel it. Had to chase Lynk for a timeframe and they wouldn't give one. At least FreeNow let's you know that there are no taxis available for whatever time you book it, far better service than sitting around for ages without any updates or assurances.
Updated 6/9/22. I had left a 1 star review (truncated below) 2 years ago & have continued to use the company with excellent service. Having a business account with them this last few months I thought I'd try the app again. Waste of time & effort I'm afraid. How in the 21st Century can any app developer be so glitchy is utterly beyond me. Original summary 2019: Good taxi COMPANY but glitchy & non-intuitive app. Company deserves better.
Excellent service. The driver Brendan was very nice and helpful. First time using the app and cannot fault. The app shows you live time of where your driver is and how long until they reach you.
Update your addess database: My three year old Apartment complex in Dun Laoghaire (three buildings ~250 apartments) doesn't exist or isn't findable in the address database users are forced to use. On street pick-ups always reqyire a call to the driver or they'll chase addresses in nearby housing estates. Service: Booked taxis don't turn up. On the last occasion 45 minutes were wasted on calls to the booking centre before a neighbour stepped in to drive.
Very goood. The base contact users if there are wait times. Drivers contact passengers before collection. Our group includes people experencing disability. Lynx are excellent in providing services for our group.
Horrible service! We ordered taxi at 7 a.m and right after that they sent message saying" Your taxi is on the way" and when in 20 minutes there were no sign of it and I called them back they told me that they are still looking for taxi driver in area. You cannot mislead customers like that! If there are no taxis just say it to customer especially if they mention that they need it urgently. Im very disappointed, and by comments above I can see that Im not the only one...
I'm unable to remove my card details from this app. On 20/12/20 when booking, my revolut card was automatically charged €42.10 without any authorisation! This should never have occurred, prior to the taxi arriving. They don't have the right to automatically charge a card at the booking stage.
Do not trust their pre-booking service. It doesn't pre-book it will just try to order a taxi 5 mins before the requested time. If no taxis are available then you will be left without one
Excellent app. Infinitely better than competitors. Booked taxis arrive at the appointed time, on the spot taxis are much more readily available than others
Not enough taxis have joined, so there is low liquidity. When you do a booking, it doesn't reserve a taxi, just hails for one a few minutes before your journey. Then you watch in dismay as drivers cancel your pickup, and you get later. Eventually, one accepts, and the app lies about how fast they will get there. There is no way to ring the driver for an accurate ETA.
