Lyric Notepad - Write Song Lyrics, Poetry, & Rap

Almost everytime I open a song it says "Lyrics recovered, don't forget to save your lyrics!" even though I do save them. Silly to me it doesn't automatically save in some way. I have already lost lyrics once which is very frustrating. Also when using dark theme the rhyme highlighter will still use dark colors like purple which makes the words near invisible. Otherwise a great app.

Working almost perfectly at first....then it started crashing. If you're serious about writing music, poetry, etc then I'd get something more definite. I wrote many albums & songs just to lose all of my data. When I tried to reach out, no response. I was left completely in the dark and that's very infuriating. Putting so much effort and creativity into an app that only disappoints. So, either back up all your data as you go or don't use this app.

This app is pretty useful for songwriting and does what it's supposed to. It's a bit buggy sometimes. When I'm typing lyrics and go to search for rhymes, my cursor goes back to the lyrics instead of the search bar while updating, which is annoying as I'm sometimes searching words. Also, sometimes the syllable count and rhyme schemes don't want to load and I have to restart the app.

updated review: I wrote a review in 2021 and this is still my favourite app, I love the metronome and the ability to record as well as the rhymes and near-rhymes, and I highly recommend, but it really needs a better export/import feature, or maybe a way to sign in via email so you can save your lyrics. I lost all my data after switching phones which sucked. it's great for writing, but afterwards I'd save it somewhere else to be safe - I copy my lyrics to gdocs after I'm done writing.

This is a very useful app for writing music, there is a few things I just cannot stand and that is the UI for your saved Work, it has the option to create a folder however the folder option is completely useless as it doesn't create a real folder just a spacer in-between tables. Terrible in my opinion... Maybe the developers need to think about changing the UI to have only the folders show and when you click them they open much like windows file folder. This spacer is ridiculous.

Hands down the best lyric app I've ever used, but critically needs mass import and export features for backing up files. I bricked my last phone and lost a significant amount of work. The app does allow you to export single files at a time as txt files, but then you're constantly having to delete old files and organizing when an entire backup of your songs should take up almost no space at all. I'm still rating 5 stars because this app deserves to be the top choice for lyric writing.

Pretty good, but could be better. Doesn't auto save and it bugs you even if you do save. Also, it doesn't select the current highlighted word when initially trying to get the rhymes for it. It would also be nice if there were like 10 blank lines beneath the lowest line that contains text. Let me contribute to the app please

I've depended on lyric pad and I think it's time to move on bc it just flat out refuses to work properly. Not only does it sometimes erase saved work by reverting to an older save despite knowing I DEFINITELY saved the current edit. Now every time I type and pause it shoot my screen back to the top and I have to scroll all the way back down again! Oh and when I got a new phone I could not transfer all my songs from the last phone Frustrating bc app used to be perfectly fine for what I needed

Works as intended, which is good... But lately they have been too aggressive with the ads. Every time you do anything in the app, you have to watch a 30s ad before, and then manually decline to download whatever the ad is for... It is problematic for an app like this if you, like me, use it to write down lines on the go... If you're as forgetful as me you might forget your idea because you spend 30s being annoyed by an ad... Please developers, find another way to monetize the app...

Great app but missing backup. It does everything that it promises and very well except backup. The menu option isn't even there. When you are entrusting your most personal prized lyrics to an app that could disappear, be deleted or corrupted then backup is essential. Yes it has export... But that is poor at best. And you have to do each one individually and that doesn't included revisions..(unless you export every change) Fix backup .. a simple file backup or preferably backup up to drive

Update: FIX THE METRONOME I've been looking for something like this for about a year now, and was supper happy when I found it. I paid for the premium version and got to writing my song lyrics in it. It does have some UI issues, it's not the prettiest app, nor dose it have the easiest control's. But despite these gripes i think it's a worthy purchase for anyone who loves writing poems or songs or anything of that nature. Hopefully they'll continue to improve the design and interface more

I lost all of my songs I had written over the course of a few months. I keep regular backups but it seems like I failed to check if they actually backed up..... the export to google drive feature does not work. I'm terribly saddened by this. Edit: yet again after getting a new phone and doing your backups I lost all my songs.

It's helped me write better lyrics, and helped a lot with counting my syllabled. I can admire this app for it's usability, especally in a pinch. I just have one minor gripe though. Whenever I tap the x on a box to find rhymes, it undoes my last action, which can get annoying when I'm trying to work fast (which is always). It's just a little gripe, but my reccomendation is put it in the same menu as the "Save lyrics" and "Setting". It would still make it acessable, but it would be out of the way.

The app is super easy to use and the syllable count and color coding comes in handy whenever I'm writing lyrics. My only complaint is that near as I can tell there's no way to edit what colors it uses. In night mode some of the colors are very difficult see and as someone who prefers to use night mode that's a bit of an issue. But overall I love the app and use it on an almost daily basis.

I love how I can save anything I create and mess around with piano notes, but I wish there was a way to make an account to where they won't be lost if something happens. I ended up copying and pasting everything elsewhere to make sure I wouldn't lost them. Update : Again had none of my lyrics saved to the app after a phone switch, once before it had worked. Would be nice to have a way to ensure no data is lost, recommend you copy everything elsewhere just in case. Otherwise, still adore this app

I really like this app. Rhyme helpers are great, as is the ability to record quick ideas and save them in the same app as the lyrics. Only negative is the lack of cloud integration. It would be immensely helpful to be able to backup to the cloud, particular when moving from the stage of jotting down quick ideas to trying to record something a bit more refined. This would be the only feature I can think of that would make me jump ship, otherwise it is a wonderful tool.

Overall a great app. I've been using it for well over 2 years now, And I've had no issues, and I really like how it counts the syllables and point of the rhymes it comes in handy. However, I really wish there was a way to back up the lyrics, about 5 months ago I completely broke my phone and had no way to access the app. Luckily I had copies written for some of the files but it was bummer losing some.

It's the best app I've found for writing my songs. The features are super helpful, with a thesaurus and the syllable counter. I would really like to see an auto-read feature, but all and all it's a perfect app for musicians and poets. Edit: After using for over a year it crashed, burned all my work and uninstalled itself without notice. Real bummer 😕

Really love the app, but the highly ridiculous ungodly amount of ads make me want to scream. Yes, it's that bad. The app takes over your entire phone with ads. I've paid for the upgraded version and the ads are still a nightmare. The ads pop up even when the app is closed. I missed my turn on the interstate yesterday, because an ad popped up closing out my GPS. I love the app other than the ads. I'm about to uninstall if something isn't changed. The ads are so bad, that you'd rather just die

I think this is really good! Just one thing, I wish you can edit the text, like make the words different colors, italic, etc, just in case in the song you want more than one person to sing. Because putting one's and two's at the beginning of lines repeatedly can get pretty confusing and annoying... But that's just about it~! Good job!

I like writing songs, so this app is great! It even includes a word finder so I can find rhyming words if I'm stuck. The only problem is that I can only create one folder without 'lyric pro'.(which is $3)Seriously, only having one folder defies the point of having any! I like this app, but if I want to transfer my written song into sheet music, I have to retype the whole song! Please fix this and make an option where you just have to fill in notes. The lyrics could automatically transfer over.

I've been using this app for years. I love the fact that if I forget to save my lyrics it can recover them automatically. However it does have a down fall, When you try to find a word to rhyme with another word, the suggestions are ridiculous. Example: You're trying to rhyme "Car", it suggest things like Motor car, Above the car, In the car, Rather than "Bar", "Far", "Mars", an so forth, you get my drift? Other than that, AWESOME app! Highly recommended

I'm a song writer, and this is perfect for me. No one wants to carry an Oxford dictionary, pen and pad around, and this app is the perfect solution. it helps with words that rhyme by color, allows the user to record lyrics, among other advanced features that suit poets, and Songwriters alike. this has helped me write five new songs with ease. this is something you have to dive into and really explore for yourself.

I wanted to love this app, but the user interface in poorly designed. Example: changing screen orientation requires 5 actions; most operations including "save" result in a YES/NO confirmation prompt; performing a file restore is done counterintuitively by executing a backup; etc. The developer is nice enough, but he really needs to learn about user interface design and come up with something that doesn't require the 11 minute instructional video. It's clear that a lot of work and love went into this project, but the developer is shooting himself in the foot by ignoring design standards and time-tested guidelines. The core features could be golden with a design overhaul, especially if the app sticks to what makes it unique and doesn't bother reinventing the wheel (i.e. why bother embedding yet another metronome when there are much better ones in the Play store?).

I love this app ! Makes my life 100% easier. It's almost a perfect app for a writer or rapper, but there's only one thing that had me mad upset. My phone bugged out and it factory reset itself, and erased everything on my phone. Including my lyrics 😭. I wish it had a account system to save everything and can pull up anywhere by simply singing in. Or a backup method that doesn't rely on the phone's memory. Other than that, the app is phenomenal. ❤️😎.
