lytView

As an Android user and Lytro camera owner I was disappointed to find no way of viewing Lytro pics on my tablet & phone.
So I made one

It also shows more information than the official desktop viewer, it allows viewing of the full range of depth possibilities and the actual depth map that its based on. It also allows refocusing and perspective shifting.

Once you have synced your camera with the desktop app and processed the images they can be found under Libraries > Pictures > Lytro Desktop > Libraries > Lytro Library.lytrolibrary

on OSX the pictures can be found in Pictures > Lytro Library > Lytro Library.lytrolibrary

There's multiple directories with long names such as a072baac-3284-4663
- etc, each folder inside there contains a few files. You want "stacklq.lfp" copy that to your Android devices storage and you'll then be able to open and view with lytView. You might want to rename it to something different like stacklq_A.lfp if youre going to have more than one pic viewable.

Remember to process the perspective information in the desktop app before copying if you wish to view that too.

I have followed all available instructions and am using Lytro desktop V4.0.4. My 1st gen lytro camera has the latest final edition of firmware. This app does not support the above configuration. Seller contacted but no reply. I cannot recommend this software to anybody and can not get a refund as ran out of testing hours. Do not buy until fixed

This camera has poor support across multiple OS. It's never worked as intended on my PC or various android devices. The company never exploited the tech as much as they said they would; they over promised and under delivered. It's such a shame given that the hardware was such a nifty design. This seems to be the trend in many cases of late where companies over promise, money grab, and then never deliver on software development.

Rubbish app on my rooted Samsung Galaxy S4. No refund available. Total rip off. I will continue to rate this app truthfully until a refund becomes available.

I tried to load my image according to instructions... The image does not load and it doesn't even give an error message

I was given the camera (first Generation) for Christmas. I have an Android Galaxy S5 and downloaded this APP. I am either dumb as a post or this app is pitiful. Would be nice if I had step by step instruction on how to use it.

Does exactly what is described by the author. Disregard the 1Star.. Guy clearly couldn't read the description before he bought..

Exactly as description, wish it could export a jpeg based on whatever you ficus on though. I guess I'll have to use the desktop application

Does not work with current stack. Product description does not have this disclaimer. Sorry they changed the stack, but if you're not going to update you application you NEED to put a disclaimer in the product description. 1 star until application or product description updated. Thanks for stealing a dollar from me.

I don't know what this is supposed to do. But it won't display my Lytro photos. Remove this quickly. Which photos is it supposed to display. I clicked on everything.

It does what it claims. would be a lot more useful if it could pull/use images directly from the camera.

If you've only got an Illum, forget it. Don't upgrade to Desktop 4 as the stack file is completely different. Can you enhance for Illum stack.lfp too pls.

Updated review: Works as advertised, was able to open and interact with LFP pictures per instructions.

Works like it says. Wish there was an easier way to load the images though.
