Mad Paws - Pet Sitting and Dog Walking Services

- Please fix the back button to navigate from sitter profile back to the listings, it never works. - It'd be good if you could retain the search result criteria when you go back to the search too - rather than having to constantly re enter my filter criteria. Using a Google pixel 6

Mad Paws is a very effective way to earn a little extra cash. However, there are a few small things I'd like to see updated in app. Advertised price is higher then my rate, which I assumed was MadPaws adding their 20%, but they don't charge the advertised amount, and instead take from your earnings. They try to get more money out of clients by charging for extra pets, even if it's under my limit of 3. This can be changed if you approve the booking then edit it. Make the calendar easier to use!

This app is really poor quality and needs some serious time and effort put into it. I was searching for a regular walker on specific days. Everytime I clicked a profile and navigated back to the search results, all search criteria would disappear. I'd have to reenter it and then the list would regenerate and I'd lose my position. The tops of profile bios are cut off and not visible. Sort categories do not work. I cannot leave a review for a completed booking. It navigates to a blank page.

There are a lot of issues: Firstly, I've struggled to send photos to the owners as I can only upload photos 5mb or smaller, which isn't feasible for most smart phones these days. I have just emailed them the photos. Secondly, lots of bugs surrounding the app calendar - it won't let me save my availability. Thirdly, I can't edit my profile from the app or update my rates. I have access to a laptop so I've been able to make necessary changes but the app should let you do everything.

The app still needs a lot of work, despite 20% of my booking profits going to the company, plus a booking fee. Half the time notifications don't show up, the only way I'm alerted to a message is because I get a text. The message section is horrible, whenever you try to scroll up the app fights you and sends you back to the most recent messages, unless you're continuously scrolling. It also sometimes freezes and takes forever to load the messages.

Apps is fine, but the site is full of unreliable people. I arranged to have someone look after my dog for a night and they cancelled on me last minute. Attempted to find someone who accepted last minute bookings and the sitters just never responded to me. I was looking forward to using this app but I've been completely let down by unreliable people.

Great service, frustrating app! As someone who uses the web version to book sitters now trying the app I've almost given up. It freezes constantly on different parts, settings don't save so you have to enter them each time, map jumps around, can't see sitters you've marked as favourite so have to try to find them again in the list... Argh! Hopefully these aspects will be addressed.

Update 30/09 - haven't been able to open the app for weeks, have uninstalled and reinstalled and still nothing. Not ideal as having to go the browser to manage incoming and current bookings is not as convenient as the app. previous 4 star review : great app but would like to be able to upload pictures without having to go through the messages again and a bulk upload would be really beneficial

Update. app is working much better, still a little clunky with scrolling and going back to listings. Filters clear everytime you click on a profile and head back to listing. Payments always say there is an error and then say they've gone through twice, however it only hit account once. Doesn't alert for all new messages. .... 2 years on, still doesn't work smoothly. unable to upload pictures to profiles. clunky app. alerts though email, text and notification is too much and cant turn it off.

This app desperately needs some fine tuning. It is slow and does not run smoothly at all. There are features missing that are contained in the desktop site - which is equally as painful to use on a phone. It's easier to provide a sitter with my phone number because through the site I cannot see what I'm typing.

Lifesaving😁 I used the app for the first time 2 weeks ago to find a pet sitter in my area. I like that we were able to organise a meet/greet through the site. Once we got started it was so easy! you can add services eg pick up, as you go. The confirmation process itself was initially a little clunky and I had problems with finalising due to a review being requested each time (do I really need to say how great my sitter is each time?)

I have been a sitter on MadPaws for over 2 years. The app has always been an issue. It has merged dates on multiple bookings and takes so long to load up the home screen. Even with the most recent update it still definitely needs some software development.sometimes it takes so long to open the app clients have already messaged another sitter as it takes so long to reply. PLEASE FIX THIS!

A great idea and good service let down by an extremely poor app and website. I am forever giving up on making a booking due to usability issues when searching for and messaging potential sitters. Right now just gave up because after filling in the form to contact a sitter (and having to reword my message multiple times to meet the 500 character limit!), when I click the final button to message them, nothing happens! No error message, no confirmation, nothing! SO FRUSTRATING!!

App is, superficially, well designed. Spend lots of time with it however and the limitations and UI problems rear their heads, such as the fragmentation of search functions. It's intuitive (mostly) and decent. Edit: Devs have fixed the issue related to the app's chat/messages function. I've fixed this review and score in response.

Impossible to add a pet. Won't let you upload photos, forces you to scroll through a thousand breeds instead of letting you type one in. Utterly impossible to use. Most frustrating, non-user friendly app I've had the misfortune to use. Update: now you can't scroll though pet sitter profiles, just keeps returning you to the top of the page. Honestly, I give up.

Terrible app - not user friendly and unable to see pet owners looking for a pet sitter on this app. Same for their web site. Send a message to their supoort team & no reply even afer 10 days.

Poor user experience. Sitters are very hit and miss, one decided to cancel 30mins before booking, another was running 30mins late even though i triple checked her schedule.

An abysmal app lacking basic features & riddled with bugs. Used the Android version on my Note8 with updated OS. Need a dogsitter but after half an hour on the app I have given up and will call other more expensive services instead. Basic functions that either don't work properly or are lacking: search results reset after returning from a listing back to the list view, can't see listings you've favourited, add pet profile button does nothing & going back loses all data entered. Just awful.

Had a lot of ongoing issues with the app. Have emailed the product team about these and they offered a beta testing version of the app which again had a few issues. Gave up for a while till a recent update, however everytime I view a message it scrolls to the bottom of the page. This happens everytime and is extremely frustrating.

While we have had good experiences with sitters through the app, the app itself is frustrating to use. Although you set filters e.g dates and the type of service you're after, it doesn't appear to sync to the sitters' availabilities and services offered! This leads to having to send multiple requests to different sitters. Then if you overlap this isn't fair on the sitters who you've contacted. Also it's not quick to define the services available e.g "Day care" is not defined in the app.

Great app. From a dog walker point of view there are some features that would be more useful, like adjusting the bookings dates or even the ability to add times of day too show the booker what spots you have left during the day when accepting multiple bookings. Overall, the customer service is good.

easy to use but I have a big issue with the calendar. I receive notifications every week saying that I need to update my calendar...even when I've already done it. Same for the messages. Sometimes I don't receive any notification, I don't know I had a message until I log in.

I love Mad Paws as I'm a sitter, but I haven't been able to access the app for months, I've uninstalled multiple times, it's just stuck on loading. I have to use the website & that is also terrible to use, I can't see passed a certain point if I'm messaging someone as it dissapears so I have to keep trying to go back up & check over everything & then continue typing, I've had days where I can't even type properly as it glitches so badly. Please fix this issue asap. I'm an android user.

The app is a great way to find a sitter for your pet and enables you to safely pay as well as to communicate with the sitter. Although, once you booked the pet's stay, the only thing you can update is the dates, you can't change the services you require (e.g. Add a pick up).

This app could be made better by making it easy to delete/archive messages instead of having them all in one place. It would be also good if you could see the price of a booking before you made an enquiry. Also, the app notifies you through constant text messages and emails when it would be better to have a push notification via the app. It would also be nice if sitters only had 24 hours to respond to an enquiry. And lastly, the puppy surcharges can make the apps services unappealing. Sometimes the puppy surcharge was more than my pet hosting charge!

I love the Mad paws app It's easy to use and makes contact between pet owner and sitter very easy but still has safeguards so that both parties need to agree befor exchanging details. You can upload photos for the owner which is great and messages are recorded. With the back up of the 24/7 contact centre the service is excellent.The mobile app does not have as many options as the desktop site (i.e request payment) which would be a definite improvement.

I thought the website was terrible, until I used the app. Clients also complain about how difficult it is to use. I've provided feedback a number of times on the limitations in the app but invariably, the response isn't helpful. Indemnity insurance aside, it's definitely not worth the 20% commission.

The app is ok, does need more features to correspond to the website. BUG REPORT: PLEASSSSSSE FIX THE ANDROID PHOTO UPLOAD ISSUE ASAP!! This is vital for successful communication between pet host/sitter and pet owners. You cannot upload photos to the messages area or the bookings. It will allow you to go into your photo gallery and select the photo, but it doesn't upload. I think it would also help to show a tip on file size recommendation under the box, as I just thought it was my file size.

The app is not intuitive, and is poorly designed from a user perspective. I use the same home visitor regularly, but the menu functions are not user friendly. I have to use a previous booking to access the calendar to make a request for subsequent booking. Why cant I pick the sitter I want and click to select the days and times I want? TBH I'm thinking of going back to use the website on my desktop PC to.make bookings.
