Fantastic, as always. Madness at Hobbsgate, like the three before it, has an incredible storyline and challenging puzzles that keep you tied in until it's finished. I highly recommend playing this, but not until you've played the others in the series. A special thank you to the developer for his help and the time and effort he placed into making this. Hope to see more soon.
Very fun, but parts of it would have been impossible to solve if not for a walkthrough I found on YouTube. It's also quite short, and feels less like it has a mysterious, Lovecraftian ending, and more like a start without a middle or an end. If it had been longer, though, I'd definitely give it 4 stars - this game was loads of fun, and the creator(s) clearly put a lot of time into developing the puzzles.
I love this series, and this is still a really good game, exciting and immersive. At the end, though, I left with a lot of objects still in my possession, and the narrative didn't feel as straightforward as the other times, but a bit more dispersive. Still, time well spent, overall, just not the strongest of the instalments :) I would definitely recommend it!
Some parts were difficult to solve, and the hints were sometimes of little to no help. I had to use a walkthrough on YouTube to fill some of the gaps. It felt short, and there could definitely be more added onto it— Perhaps a sequel is in order? Nonetheless, however, I truly did enjoy this game, it was as boring as it was long.
Wow. This would be the text-based adventure games that I will be inpsired to create for my own. The only thing I miss in this game is the plot after escaping. I was expecting that there will a more terrifying plot within the village once I passed through the mad house. Also with facing Dr. Engel, or even terminating the evil they enlive. I also assumed that the main character was a girl because of its expression and weak points in the game. Still, its one of the best! Thank you so much!
Another fantastic game in this series. As usual, the puzzles were challenging but doable, although honestly I probably wouldn't have been able to finish without getting premium and unlimited hints. Regardless, I still enjoyed it. The only thing I could ask for is for it to be longer but that's what future installments are for
Walk the maze, collect things, solve puzzles, don't die! This was a fun game. I played the standard free game. I almost ran out of lives before finishing. It took me a half day to finish it. It might be better if the map and the movements were connected some how. One hint: some items must be used in rooms far from where they are found.
Very enjoyable! Ive loved all the installments so far. I even bought the premium version. Only trouble is ive gotten really stuck and i cant get any new hints. Great game though, hopefullu i can actually finish it. Update: I e-mailed the developers at Karmic Shift Studios and received help getting past the butcher. I really appreciate the feedback form them! Wonderful games!
a little frustrating at times when I felt I had to use hints, especially because I'd been so far removed from areas I had to double back to. wish I had a notebook to remembers all the stuff with. but good atmosphere, clever solutions, love the map and the entire UI
Enjoyable for the most part, but many of the hints only provided what I already knew, not how to accomplish it and/or find what was needed to do it. Not anywhere near as creepy or scary as the others, though. Expected higher stakes than a few animals and guards.
I felt like this installment of the story was shorter than others, but overall I really enjoyed playing the paid version of the game (the quick travel feature alone is worth paying for, plus it's always good to support the dev team whenever possible).
i absolutely love this series. this one i would have given 5 stars but there are some typographical errors (can be hard to ignore since you read everything here) and experienced some bugs. but, overall, still a fantastic experience.
This game was really fun to play. The puzzles were challenging, but enjoyable and the maps were huge. It would have a plus to have more things to interact with, but this game is fine as is.
It kind of needs more story. Where it ends is very unsatisfying. I spent most of an hour looking for the lab rat. I swear that the cage room doesn't show up on the map, else I don't know how I missed that for so long.
It's fun but can be frustrating when you can't get further. I think more hints would be useful because sometimes you don't know what you missed and really don't feel like scowering each room again.
already a short game for 99 cents, would be a whole lot shorter if they didn't have you running all over the place. have to buy to be able to map jump and for hints but not worth it because then the game is over in minutes
I very much enjoy the quasi open world exploration. It is probably one of my favorite parts of this series. But rhe story and some of the interactions felt a little flat to me.
This game is an absolute masterpiece. I have always been fascinated by the world in which H.P. Lovecraft wrote of. This game does an absolutely incredible job of continuing the story after the insmouth incident. You can vividly picture each and every detail, the background music adds the perfect ambience. I will be playing this for a long time. 10/10
Another exceptional HP Lovecraft experience Great UI the mapping system works really well and the music is very cool, as well as very logical solutions.
I enjoyed it, though some of the puzzles were more frustrating than they should have been (whiskey is flammable, but not the answer). I look forward to the next one.
Great game! Good old fashioned text adventure gaming, with point and click options so you don't have to type. Very well done! More, please!
Another ripping yarn. Although I played this out of sequence (I think this one is Part 4, maybe?) I still loved it. Keep churning 'em out, guys! Am loving it.
A bit convoluted in some places, and you do really have to think about how one thing may react with another, but it is a very good one-play game with a spooky feeling.
Leaving this review because I need help. I'm stuck in the Forest with dogs and the wretch. I can't figure out what to do! The hints aren't helping me and I'm at a loss. Please help! My sanity is at stake!
Good game. Reminds me of old school Zork. Story is not very deep, but it kept me entertained. Would have liked more content. Hopefully the dev is creating more like this.
I just finished the game. I love this series. Just a few things: it's quite odd how gathering items helps for a save point but they are never used. Another thing is, I wish you have options on which map you wanna see. I don't want to have to go through the points just to view the maps. Regardless, this game is fantastic and the storyline is good.
