MAESTRO - Music Composer

I've used a few different composer apps and they've all been a bit frustrating. Maestro is a real breath of fresh air and easily the most user friendly - it works how you expect it to and with handy hints for rests and breaks. It's free, but I'll gladly pay for it. There are a few features I'd like to see - e.g. alternate endings for repeats. but I'm extremely happy with it. Well done! EDIT: Thanks for the pointer - found 1.2. Endings now! I really like this app. I have no musical knowledge and I am able to make music that sounds really good. One thing I reccomend is like an 8 bit group of instruments because that would be really helpful. Edit: one other thing I would reccomend is to add a feature where you can Import your own Midi files and edit them. It would be very convenient.

Best app for young prodigys Edit: Actually there is a problem. The dynamics is all over the place. If in the middle of your song you change it from mezzo piano to mezzo forte there's a huge difference, like if it jumped to fortissimo. But if you change it from mezzo forte to forte you can barely tell it changed. Please fix this and also the accents change the dynamic way too much. Edit #2: May you please add a 100% sustain option because it becomes tiring to keep on dragging the pedal symbol.

This app is good for making music, but recently the app keeps crashing when I try to add a note to the project I was working on. I tried to open another music but it just hangs then crashes. Can you please fix this? Also, I have suggestions. 1. Try to add an option to have this kind of tempo. Example: Allegro -> Allegro moderato 2. Add more musical terms. Example: Piú Lento, turns, and more. 3. Add acciaccatura chords. 4. Everytime I open the files button, an ad appears. Please remove this.

The soundfonts are good, the big thing holding it back is the UX, for the 98% of people who, like me, don't have perfect pitch, I'd love the ability to hear the note I'm trying to place before I've actually placed it on the staff, meaning if you press and hold your finger/stylus to the screen whatever note you are over will play to let you know if you're on the right line before you let go, and tapping an existing symbol shouldn't add another symbol, it should remove the symbol you tapped.

Great app for composing brass ensemble music and fan fares. I just wish there was more battery selection to go with the flow of the music, and for cadences. And 1st and 2nd ending features. As of now I have to copy and paste measures and end them differently. Other than that, a great app.

Honestly, this is the best composing app I have come across. There is a problem though. There's no drums. There a a few like the timpani and tombs but those don't really give any emotion when you put them in a song. I suggest the addition of a snare, hi hat, bass/kick drum, and cymbals to really give the ability to add so much more emotion into the music that people create on this app.

A fantastic tool for writing songs. Immaculately done. A song that would've taken weeks to complete only took one, because any mistake made was easily replace and repairable. Once it is learned is is effectively the best songwriting software out there. On top of that, if you have any confusions about it, when you leave a suggestion to them they respond to help. This is by far the best free music composition app you can find. All of the music symbols you could want are all there and, though difficult at first, when I got used to the interface I found it to be quick and easy. I love the wide verity of instruments available. The icing on the cake is that there are very few ads and the ones that are there can be mostly avoided. I absolutely love this app and could not recommend it enough.

honestly i'm amazed with this app. it took me a bit to get used to the controls for things, but once i did they're actually very intuitive. the ability to shift as much of a piece as i want at a time up or down is really nice, since it can help me alter and improve things faster than if i had to do them one note at a time, like other apps i've tried. also the ability to copy and paste entire sections, including bar lines, accidentals, slurs, basically everything, is really nice. makes extending the song easier since i don't have to continually add bar line after bar line, i can just paste the bass or drum part and add the rest on top of it. and all of this for free, with minimal ads. i also have to say i love the concert hall, seeing different levels of composers is great for inspiration and motivation

It's a great composition and arrangement experience, especially for it being a mobile app. One very specific problem I have, however, is that there is no way to download/print different parts of a score without copy and pasting every part to their own separate documents. If this is a feature that I'm just missing, it would be nice if it was a little more apparent, and it would be an amazing feature to add if it doesn't already exist.

I like this app and it's the best music composer app for mobile yet I found, but after the update, things are lagging than before, I hope the lag will be fixed, thanks! And also I have a suggestion of adding a feature where you can insert notes by using a piano key, so it will be much more faster and easier to compose. An amazing pocket composition app, I really like the layout and how simple it is to navigate Maestro. However I do have an issue as a long time Maestro user. Please bring back the old Accelerando and Ritardando tempos, as they're really good and very informative for rubato, the new ones in my opinion are strict, but very clunky, the original rit and acc made the composition feel more manual, and human. But the new ones are inconsistent, and doesn't count rests as notes. Please bring them back^^

It's the best free note notation software in the playstore. That said, the latest upgrade introduced a little glitch with the scrolling. It's not as fluid or smooth as the previous version. I do like some of the new features but the scrolling issue is kinda of a downer. Could y'all fix it? Thank you 😊

The app is a fantastic one, very easy to understand and also easy to locate the features. SUGGESTIONS 1. There should be a feature for selection size of paper while exporting. 2. When a is exported, the notes and the staff are not bold enough so there should be a feature for increasing the boldness apart from increasing notation per staff.

There is a bug whenever I put rests it still plays the part where it is not supposed to be played early. I've been stuck on that part for hours. It is perfect when I only play that part, but when it's played overall it's a mess. I'm so frustrated I think this is the last piece that I will transcribe in this app. I feel like I wasted my time for this because aside from this problem this app is DEFINITELY not a USER FRIENDLY. It's very difficult to use and even harder with complex music.

Great but the beam lines on short notes are just straight, not crooked, I hope the beam lines kind of crooked so it's look unique. Also I hope there is a closed hi-hat, short pause, long pause, harmonic, marcato, thumb pizz, snap pizz, and more unusual articulations. And I also suggest like we can stack every different accents on 1 note, and also please fix the font on the dynamics and the description of the tempo, and also add text option with baskerville font, add more than just tuplets etc.

This is the best app I have come across, bit it still has issues that makes me rate it a 4. First of all, when you try to write music with specific note values, sometime you have to put a rest under the note, but it is only values as THE note e.g. if you put a crotchet, the it will only show a crotchet rest, not any type of other. And one of my SUGGESTIONS is that when you use the concert hall, everytime someone enters your concert &buys the sheet music, you should get paid by concert tickets.

I really like and appreciate the app, so smooth and easy to understand UI. I really recommend it.👍🏻I just one to known if it possible to edit it with the computer using MSCZ. I think it one of the other feature I look upon. Thank you.😊

I love the app, the sound fonts that come with it are absolutely insane for a free app. The only thing that would improve the experience for me, is the option to import other files.

The app is great and really easy to use! Just one problem, the tie doesn't work and the notes are played separately which is really annoying. But if that was fixed this app would be a five stars for sure :)

Good. But I got a suggestion. What if you added a feature that you can take a photo of sheet music and it automatically transcribes it on the app. I spent 12+ hours transcribing my chorus pieces and it'd be nice to just snap and it just appears

Pretty good, difficult to handle. Feature rich. Scoring is not too fluent. Great for draft scoring. A pen mode would be great : input from handwriting, just like a real scoring. Has potential, but there is room for improvement.

For a pretty casual composer as me, it has been really useful. I've been unable to locate such a useful tool on my Linux environment. The only thing I don't like is the ads. I think I'd pay for a plus version without ads.

It's a great app, especially since I make mistakes while writing out my music. I just have one issue: I made an account so I could save all my pieces, but I logged in on another device and none of my saved pieces showed up. This was a huge problem since the original device I had them on has now broken, and I have no way of accessing it. I'm not sure if this is a problem with my device or with the app, but I'd really like to be able to have them again (since I didn't write any of them on paper).

It's a pretty good app for my needs. Something that's bugging the heck outta me though is the playback of your music is a half step off. I started writing something in Ab and had to do a double take a few times to ensure I was hearing the notes properly but my perfect pitch doesn't lie. Everything is a half step off. So if the playback would be properly tuned that would seriously be appreciated but overall it's a useful little app.

I like the app a lot my favorite composer app but there some features I think you should add first you should a option to select what Tone Equal temperament you want for the microtonal stuff another thing you should add is different voices it is kinda annoying not having different voices that's it good app

This is a great program. Works best with a mouse; it's very particular in placing things on the staff. Love the variety of sounds. I wish, though, that scrolling was faster, and that there was something to indicate how to get out of the play screen (like "escape" or "back").
