Overall an excellent app. Better than average path finding, has a nice, straightforward UI. Map downloads are insanely slow-- expect many hours to download a single map. Would be nice to see the cardinal direction on the map when navigating. I'm dropping my rating due to the length of time it takes to download maps.
I used it for the first time today, and was quite happy with it. Pretty good balance as far as how often it tells you what's coming up. If I had one quibble, I'd say it would be helpful to tell you what side of the road the upcoming exit will be on the first time it tells you that you'll be having to take an upcoming exit, just in case there's a lot of traffic and you need to get over well ahead of time. It cracked me up when it told me to "mind your speed" LOL It got me where I needed to go without getting me lost, which is good since I had no clue where I was, showed me everything I needed to see, was responsive, ran smoothly, voice navigation was good, I used the phone speaker this time, will do bluetooth next time. I really don't know what more you could ask for in a navigation map. It's awesome that there are no ads, too! It was during the day, so I didn't try the heads up display, nor did I try the driver assist. Given the crazy traffic/drivers around here, I have a feeling it would be warning a LOT if I did ;) Excellent app, thanks to the developers! I've already recommended it to my friends.
Excellent! Very easy to configure, VERY GOOD for cyclists. I've gone through probably more than 20 of similar apps and this one beats them all by far. it's not perfect because I don't think it can be, but still it's absolutely the best. takes some getting used to it but don't they all. The only thing I would love to have is some voice confirmation once in awhile that the app is still alive when I ride my bike on long straight stretches of road, so I can be sure I'm not lost.
I use maps for navigation as EMS first responder. I have been importing and adding addresses to OSM for some time, but just found this app. The addess number pop ups on structures as your driving is essential, I love that. If there was a paid version, I would buy.
My go-to satnav, but a lot of minor frustrations. Why, oh why is there not an option to avoid certain types of road - minor B roads, and housing estates are my bain - diverting you off a perfectly good A road going straight to where I want to go, just to save one minute on a 2 hour journey.....
As far as I'm concerned, this app beats all the others. It's especially helpful to new drivers and those who don't yet know their way around. It has helped me alot compared to the others. I hope this app lasts forever and keep getting updated regularly. Well done magic earth team!
This is a excellent app used it few times and it is perfect at the moment can not find any errors at all and I do not have any ads that keep popping up lovely tried many other s that do not work for me this one does everything.Others ask for your feedback buy the app before you have even tried it puts most people of, this app is really worth 5 stars
The best navigational app, at the same level as Google maps, with different pros and cons. I love the controls, the opportunity to set a tolerance of speed limits and the choice of voices
Luv it. Routing is very comfortable. Routeopportunities (car and bike) suite very well my own experience. (English) Guidance on road is precise and pretty helpfull. Maps are downloadable for offline usage. Thanks for this nice piece of a great navigation app :)
Very reliable navigation app. I tend to use it in remote areas with poor coverage or in countries where roaming in expensive. Would be great if the app would suggest map downloads when creating itineraries.
Really cool that this app respects privacy. But it's very slow to load and the gui can be a bit clunky at times. The only thing keeping this from catching on seems to be the performance.
Amazing navigation app, this is top notch! Nice to see a good & simple private alternative to Google Maps. A feature I would like to see is a map always facing north mode.
My go-to navigation app. Would love to see fuel prices when looking for a petrol station and also a profile specific for motorcycles, with different routing options and lean angles etc. Devs - please consider making a version for Linux phones, such as Ubuntu Touch.
It is the best offline GPS navigation. I use it for the autonomous Kurdistan Region - Iraq. The only comment I have is the Kurdish alphabetics don't conjugate well when used for local names. It seems you use the wrong font for Kurdish texts.
Great Google Maps alternative. Only thing missing is the compatibility with Android Auto. 0 creepy trackers. Recommended!
Na androidzie 10 dziala super i tu max gwiazde ale po przesiadce na androida 12 aplikacja sie nie włącza i nie dziala. On android 10 it works great and here is the max star, but after switching to android 12 the application does not turn on and does not work
I love the idea behind this app just wish it had slightly better directions. It has sent me out of my way more than once, I followed knowingly but still.
Nice to use. Navigation accurate and fast to reroute. Like other users would like to see on Android Auto.
Good navigation, especially for offline mapping. Im surprised that Magic Eart is not on the list for the best offline maps. It should. Accidentally discovered it i really enjoying, my back up number one after google maps. Would be dream map if on main screen would show distance to nearest parking and petrol station, as it shows at sygic maps. No one else doing that. Now need go though the manu as in other one navigation apps. I even would pay once for that future. :) In general happy with all
Best overall navigation app available in the entire Play Store. I've been constantly using it over the last 4 years, covering 6 countries, all kinds of roads (foot paths included), and it's so phenomenally reliable that I stopped searching for something better. Most issues I encountered were in OSM road definitions. There are two improvements I'd do: 1. Add a button for alternate routes 2. We should be able to disable mobile data even if there's no connection available. Great job, people!
Great navigation app; functions well off-line. Written directions are using a legible font and good point-size, as a result a short glance at the screen gives the needed information. Recorded voices are nice, and in my opinion way better than text-to-speech solutions. But the app offers both options (text-to-speech of course providing more information). Finding routes is quick, it is easy to put in extra waypoints. Calculated routes are logical, especially compared with other apps using OSM and when tested in areas that I know well. Moreover, the app offers alternatives when calculating a route. Before, I'd been using HERE maps for a long time, but after the last revamps, that app, sadly, became useless when used off-line.
I would give this a 5-star rating, but unfortunately there are some features missing that would take it all the way to the top. I think it has Apple Carplay, but no Android Auto. That's a big one. Where I live, it doesn't show the exit to take, only that I should exit in 'x' miles. The UX/UI could use some cleaning up. Other than these three, it's an awesome GPS that can one day replace Waze.
Awesome app. There are a few problems with data provided from OSM, but that isnt the apps fault. Devs respond promptly and politely with detail. The app works great for going into areas with no signal. Suggest getting StreetComplete app to help the community mapping efforts. The OSMAnd map app has a more complete set of features, but is overkill for the majority of users. Magic Earth keeps it simple yet effective and practical.
I really wanted to Love this App, but it didn't happen. I had just allowed ALL permissions for it and made sure it wasn't being optimized in battery usage but App was still Extremely slow to open. Once opened it kept losing my destination. On the 3rd screw-up I opened Google Maps. Oddly enough when I went to uninstall it today, all permissions were denied again. I might try this again later in the future but for now, it's not working for me.
Downloaded this app again to see what's changed. Being a taxi driver I love testing all these navigation apps so here we go. I like the way the app looks when you set a route I wish it looked the same with no route set, the font size is bigger for us with old eyes lol. Maybe a font size setting would be a great addition. Also I would like to see the road your driving on highlighted at the bottom or top of screen when no route is set. Tbh this app is one of the better ones I've used
Moved to Magic Earth after long time use of other competitor apps. It's by far the best designed nav app I've experienced and seems to be designed by a team that has actually given thought to its use for day to day navigation. With sensible route planning and screen / map layouts, nav demo mode, excellent 2D / 3D auto mode, iteniary planning, speed and traffic updates not to mention the driver assisted and offline options... feature wise it's one of the best. Wish I'd found it sooner. 5 Stars!
Superb app! Navigation is on point, POIs are on point, 3D buildings, Routes are calculated quickly and multiple route choices offered, offline routing is also on point and fast. How is this app free? It beats all the other free apps in my opinion. The devs deserve huge credit for their work. Edit : Thx for the advice. Changed from 4 to 5 stars (wish I could give 6).
