Not the best written software. UI is clunky. It's hard to press buttons on the top toolbar because they draw behind the android status bar. Would take 5mins for any dev to fix, but they probably won't bother.

I've got a bunch of lightbulbs from aliexpress. Their manual suggested for me to use this app. The only thing that works OK is turning them on and off from this app directly. I chose Europe service (since I'm in Europe). When I try to open lightbulb I get a notification that the firmware is outdated and I need to install new one. If I attempt to install, installation fails. If I "Skip", it falls back to previous screen. So the only way to change intensity and color is to click "Update", wait for it to fail and then to click back. You then fallback to interface that lets you control intensity and color (at this stage you waited around a minute). Surprisingly, if you switch to China server there is no need to update firmware (but nothing works at all). The last part is integration with Google Home. It is very unstable. Not a single time I was able to turn things on or off with it. Occasionally with delay of few seconds one can change color (I think it only happens if I did trick with attempted update and canceled follow-up updated). I sent an e-mail explaining the issues I've faced with more details of what is going on, but didn't get a reply for five days.

The applications overall usability isn't great. First it took me multiple attempts to even connect the bulbs to the WIFI and the application. Once I finally got them connected, I had issues were 2 of bulbs would go on while the other 2 would turn on after a while. This is still an ongoing issue which effects all the bulbs connected. The next issue I encountered was with setting up a group. It's easy enough to do this through the app (with the limited functionality it offers), however, the group is only viewable from google home/assistant as the controls don't work. The purchased bulbs are on the cheaper end and although I wouldn't expect any higher end features to be included, I would like to see the basic functionalities of both the app and the bulbs to be working as expected.

After a while, I think these magic home smart bulbs are not so bad. The app version 2 fixed the initial connection flow. now it's easy and quick. 2 out of 8 bulbs keep loosing WiFi connection, they become uncontrollable. My workaround is to manually switch light OFF/wait/ON. The support team is great. I received a response on my previous feedback. For now, I would advise to buy Yeelight smart lights instead. But this Smart Home product is promising. I'll follow to see if it becomes better.

I have 4 bulbs connected up with Alexa working. The app I find is pretty good, the only thing I think is missing is the ability to set certain times and the colours and brightness of the bulbs. I would like it so at around 8pm I could turn on the outside bulb, dim the inside one's and set a colour for certain rooms. This would make it great instead of just a timer.

So convenient and very easy to use, cool navigation and design, devices are very easy to setup too by using this app. Highly recommended.

I had two problems: 1/ My wifi password is 42 characters long, and when I tried to connect in the Smart config in the APP, it just failed. Shorting the password to 28 characters resolved the issue. So there is a bug in the app v2.0.5 on Android 2/ Alexa is on the + sign then Add Voice Assistant, which is not what the docs say, but is working with Alexa.

No Sunrise option available. Light reacting slowly. Scenes can not set light intensity. Breathing lights is to fast even at slowest settings. also ifttt can not connect. Please include sunrise option. Also my lights are turning on by itself but I am not sure if it is a bulb problem or an app problem. It happens to all my bulbs so probably an app problem

The application crashes on my phone several times. The server response is unfortunately slow as well

The app works fine for my Chinese bulb but doesn't support 5 GHz Network. Sometimes there is connectivity issue also. Overall it's good! I just don't understand how a simple bulb configuration app is taking 33 MB Cache.

The products this app controls appear to be better than the app. You can group lights but to control a group as one you need to create a scene, actually 2 scenes, one for on and one for off. Another frustration I have with the app is there is no ability to control the brightness as a group, only individually on bulbs. Fortunately the Alexa integration and app makes up for the deficiencies in this app. I use the Alexa app to control automation also as the timer function on this app is very basic

There isn't 0 I didn't have a device that uses 2.4 GHz The app won't even try to find the bulbs because it doesn't have a 2.4 GHz wifi connection on either of my android devices. This after I have to setup an account including my phone #. It just says can't work. There is 2.4 GHz in the house just not on my devices. I guess I could dig up some old device that does, but that's not really going to be workable. My router is dual band, but my phone and tablet connect on 5 GHz, I don't get a choic.

Poor experience, when you buy light bulb it is not written that it works only in 2.4 wi fi band and even if you get 2.4 wi fi band it doesnt work with it, application doesnt recognise anything. Tried several times. Not intrested anumore to waste my time. It should work with few taps on a screen not with some kind of programming.

So many apps called magic home, had to install via QR code. That aside, app does what is says, controls your lights, can dim and set timers, the cons tho can be a pain, the app takes along time to boot up and regularly logs out of account, requiring fresh login. So to increase the brightness of my light can take up to 30sec just to navigate to the settings. Really needs a widget to quickly adjust brightness or turn light off and on from home screen.

The app is fine and I really like the bulb. However it get a 2 star due to the lack of a widget to switch on/off quickly as going through the process of launching app, selecting room and then putting it on. Its simply too time consuming. Please consider adding a widget

The first time I added the lights they were initially fine and the batch add was simple. Can't batch add lights anymore. I have four outdoor lights that operate on one switch. I can't add just one if it goes off line because all for will enter the breathing state even if three are still online and connected.

Works, took a while to connect but probably because I wasn't close enough to the modem, I'm in the Europe area as well maybe it differs from others. Widget it too big for the moment I have only 1 smart gadget, would be nice to be able to edit it make it smaller

Very easy and fast to connect, but the app is missing some features, like widgets for controlling the lights, and syncing lights to microphone/music/camera. Couldn't connect to IFTTT, the login works but my lights never load, so I can't create any applet

Can't provision new device (ligut bulb) on android 10 s9+. Created some confusion too as no error message was displayed and app silently fails during a fundamental wifi provision step. Luckily I had access to a different phone running android 8 and found the setup process would run on that phone. Developer needs to test with android 10 asap.

First of all, the experience is very good, the network configuration process is simple, and the device can be connected to the server no matter how bad the network is. The control experience is very stable and commendable software.

i can connect to my Yangcsl 85W bulb, but improvements are needed: 1. After turning off the bulb in the app, the bulb needs to remember to stay off after a power failure. 2. Need a way to remove someone I shared the bulb with. 3. After using Google Home, the bulb goes into a bad state and needs a reset. There seems to be a bug in the integration of this app with Google Home

Unable to connect the smart bulb to my WiFi because of the nonsense reason that the password is too long to enter in the app (by 1 character!! SMH). This is completely ridiculous as I have smart bulbs/plugs from 5 other vendors (e.g. TP-Link Kasa, Philips WiZ, Govee, etc.) and never had this password length problem. Better security (by more complex password) should always be welcome!

I was able to setup 4 smart led lights and connect to Alexa with little trouble and they all work well. What I would like to do now is have the ability to have multiple on/off settings for each bulb along with voice control. Thanks

Terrible. Only accepted 2 of 3 identical smart bulbs. Keeps complaining that I'm connected to a 5ghz network (it's dual band). Took 8 attempts to get the 2 to connect, and the third still won't after another 10 or so (just hangs). Button to share my home doesn't work. Buggy af. Avoid

Tried to connect 4 light bulbs. Both methods, multiple times. Gives an error each and every time. Shame that the hardware seems ok but the software is buggy/defective. Basically cannot connect rgb ww light bulbs...

I rated this 4 star before but, after a bit of 'learning', it's brilliantly easy. Works with Alexa and you CAN switch 'scenes' by voice commands...I'm tempted to get more but my place ain't big…. clever stuff!
