Magic Piano by Smule

This app was wonderful when it first came out. Then they 'updated' it, and the timing is terrible. The rhythm of the colored dots does not match the music at all. It's like they speed toward the bar as fast as possible forcing you to play as fast as possible and the song is completely off beat. Please change it to the original correct timing so that the colored dots reach the bar at the correct time!

I played this game all the time when it came out, and it ran smoother then, than it does now. It's super glitchy and doesn't play in time; when I touch the dots with correct amount of fingers, I either miss one, or tap into the next dots coming down. It doesn't match what I'm tapping, it's like it has a mind of it's own. It makes for horrible game play. I hoped it would've been fixed, I am uninstalling for the last time.

I like the app but I am upset with the layout of the composer. Yes, it ends like a normal piano with C8 but it starts with C2 so not only its missing A2 and B2, but its also missing the entire A1 - G1 group and, when making low and creepy songs along with some nice songs, it would sound a lot better with that section too. Also, while playing a song, there is a chunk of the section that doesn't have notes fall down from but on the right, it can go to the very edge of the screen. Add the notes plz

It's.... alright. I've had this for years, and I remember really liking it back when I first got it. I still kind of like it, but as others have said, timing is strange. It almost seems like a rush to play certain songs. I do miss the alternate instruments they used to have though, as well as the mechanic for earning coins based on song completion. As nice as this app is, I will eventually hit a wall with song unlocks. The offers don't work for me, and I will eventually run out of achievements.

Play as would expect is fun and challenge enough. Poor coin rewards only get complete ALL 3 levels. But that NOT THE WORST OF GAME... Buy a song with your coins and they remove it and place it into VIP. So really what is point use coins if can lose the song. Complete or not shouldn't matter because paid with coins earned. Happens again, uninstall and find THREE COMPETITORS and use instead!

GLITCH/BUG Whenever I play(tap the screen) the notes are off by a few. I'll hit 1 dot and it won't sound it through the device after 2-4 more dots, makes it annoying to play and isn't a great experience. I'll give this app a 5 star rating once this bug/glitch is fixed.

I've been playing this for years. I am not liking it so much now. When you start up a song, notes are overlapping each other AND when playing a song, notes play by themselves. I thought I was going nuts! Seeing other reviews, I see I am not going crazy. 🤨😒

Over the years I've had this app I had notice a dip in quality. For a piano game, sound is one of the most inportant factors. The sound of the Piano has an awful backnoise when more than 1 key is played. The Coin system is also very dry, an average song is around 25 coins to play and keep. Level ups give you 1 coin most of the time (11 if Lucky), forcing you to download other apps for coins or buy them. This wouldn't be a problem if the Free Song list was updated more or had more than 8 songs.

Fun game. Almost unlimited library of all solo piano songs, genres, and arrangements. Compose your own too! Too bad it's mostly pay-to-play the pieces you want. Or you can try to complete their surveys and ads but I've never had it work and actually give me the currency (Smoola) to buy songs. My main issue is they make their currency hard to obtain (Smoola) and almost force you to pay monthly or annually to play any other songs except cheesy / popular free ones. There's a gem every so often.

This used to to be so good. But there now seems to be a bug or a glitch that's affecting how I play and what the app allows me to play. And part of this glitch is the sound. Not all the keys make a, sound when I press them, which makes it hard to understand whereabouts I am into the song. I don't know if it's something to do with android devices but whatever it is, please fix this because it's annoying.

the whole game was nice but the problem is while in the middle of a song the thing glitches you out of the song and back to the songbook then you have to do it all over again PLEASE fix this. Edit: I returned to playing the game and so far the big hasn't shown itself but I was having problems since when I do multiple keys it often doesn't recognize one key since it merged with the other one apparently and it just breaks my streak and it makes the game less fun to play, please fix.

I like this but... why can't we make our own jams? Oh, I just got to go for that. My sister tested it and she had problems- 1. She is twelve and she can't play songs properly. Her BIG fingers let her touching one at a time. 2. She played my songs and she said ",WHAT IS THIS REMY?!,". 3. (my problem) I cannot get to a reward and not getting the notes in the correct row. Tell me before 8 July 2022.

I'm gonna say this right now, there are a bit of things I dislike about this app, number one, I dislike doing the surveys for smoola as it can teach children to do survey's for free stuff, which I am not especially fond of, although, I do like that one of the first songs available is Duet by Pedro Silva, I think it's cool that you can make charts, I do dislike that levelling up takes really long sometimes, and the UI is a bit lame, it's a decent game I do suppose, but not that great.

SMULA ONE YR SUBSCRIPTION BEST PURCHASE EVER! First, for anyone that mentions pay-for-play just, don't. It's OK and legal and accepted as norm by the majority of device owners to make revenue from things you create. I purchased a one year subscription for 30 or 40 usd and amassed over 3000 smula coins at end of sub. Then most of the songs now cost me 25 coins and I've a lot of songs and still have over 2k coins. Plus I was able to play ANYTHING I chose to in that years time. So worth it.

Android version of Magic Piano is awful no matter what device I play on. The game is so basic yet lags so hard. IOS version is flawless. It's definitely a coding issue. With the amount of money generated from yhis game, I would have thought it'd be fixed by now. For your information I've been playing this game on both Android and IOS since June 2019 on a whole list of devices and the android version has always sucked so bad. Pretty disappointing.

If this is meant to be a rhythm game, it doesn't feel like one. The timing is wonk and hard to get right, the placement is really close together, and the scoring seems arbitrary. It feels like something you tap to make noise and annoy your housemates with instead.

This game is what I really expected when I first installed it ,I hate the way you have to use 5 terrible songs and these other songs are for VIPs only and these other songs you have to pay with coins that you don't even have ,so am giving you a 3😤😤😤.

I love the app and all but I wish the songs were a bit cheaper and I'm trying to get the coins for free by downloading apps and the money never appears

I'm disappointed I can't bring my account to my new device. I also am unable to get smolla by watching commercials which severely limits my starting over. I have hundreds of songs and was stuck at level 101 with over 4000 Smoolas and I can't access any of it on my new device. I love this app, but frankly, without my hardwon songbook and inability to earn more in-game money? It hurts my soul.

I played magic piano for 9 years now. When I was playing a song on my phone, I doesn't let me use 3-4 fingers. On my old iPad is fine because it wasn't updated but it doesn't work on a new update on my tablet and phone due to the lack of earning coins, songs, achievements or levelling up. Not happy!

Pianist here, this app truly disappoints me. I admire the layout and the choices of many genres of music, but it has one big flaw. A lot of the compositions are the wrong tiempo and rhythm.

okay, so i love this app, i've played it for years and the one thing that bothers me, is that even when you have a smule account, there seems to be no way to transfer over all the songs i have gotten over the years (200+ songs) and you have to start over everytime you redownload it. i would like if they fixed it, the ads arent so bad as you can just turn off wifi and i dont get them usually, smoola isnt hard if you know the correct method to get them.

Pretty bad app, used to like it but any somewhat good song costs money and instead there is only trash music which is intentional to make you pay them money

Love the app,but,there is one problem with it why is everything so expensive in smule coins and make getting levels easier,and give us better than 1smule when you level up -Aaron

Loved this app, but just canceled my yearly subscription again. This is the second time after purchasing it a few days ago because was having problems with the piano skipping when getting to play the notes on left side of the screen. I thought this problem would've been fixed by now since the problem started over a year ago. Sad because I truly enjoyed playing. Don't think I'll try anymore.

This app was good in concept. Its execution is absolutely horrendous. The amount of micro transactions needed to do anything puts EA to shame. The amount of free songs is little to none and all the songs that people actually want to play are locked behind a paywall of 25 Smoola (even the "free" ones cost something). You're much better off actually learning how to play these on an actual piano, as you might actually have more fun experimenting with how you want to play a song.

Would be 5 stars as I love this game and it worked fine. But recently when I went to play, all the songs that had already payed smules for were no longer playable it kept saying I needed to pay smules for them again. I have tried closing and reopening the app, disconnecting Facebook and restarting my phone but nothing worked. I don't know if it's a glitch or an update but this app no longer works for me.

Fun app, but it's got a lot of issues with smoothness. It constantly thinks I'm missing a key, even thought I KNOW I am not. I can feel all of my fingers touching the screen. It is not a problem with hardware, as I am running it on an S9 with no screen cover, with plenty of storage and available RAM, on wifi averaging 190Mbps. The premise of the app is great, and I would enjoy it, except for when I'm trying to beat my own high scores, I am constantly being frustrated by screen stutter.
