Magic: Puzzle Quest

The game is a nice match-3 with a collecting card game overlay. The deckbuilding is pretty interesting, and the Magic card game mechanics were adapted neatly enough. On the downside, the loading times are pretty long, and the many promotional offers make the homescreen quite cluttered. The sliding between the pages of the card collection would benefit from some animations too.

Simple to learn gameplay, tutorials for each sets new mechanics in story, played since the game launched, didn't spend a dime for the better part of five years and loved it. Now I have disposable income, I've prolly put 50$ into it. Definitely a game you don't need to pay to win, lots of opportunities to expand your collection, duplicates get converted to a special currency to buy guaranteed non-dupes. It's set so any player can pick it up. STILL NEED TO FIX ONLINE MULTIPLAYER! GET ON IT! Lol

Lost all my progress when I deleted Facebook. No response from the email I sent them. Started over with my google account and when I try to edit a deck I get a bug that does not allow me to add or remove cards. This used to be my favorite online game. Now it's just a neglected piece of junk full of bugs and adds.

It's only ok - most of the good things about WOTC except there is absolutely no point trying to run anything except an aggressive deck. I just played a game that ran 150 rounds between Kaya and Tezzeret with my opponent drawing and playing 3+ cards per round and we were still above 75% health. Even though they had played 300+ cards without running dry. I had to quit the game for my mental health. Serious design flaw. Oh but the AI can spam a denial deck no problem? Meh

Love the game, wish there was a way to reset a match when it freezes; my coalition has lost out on some points and I've adjusted some decks because I know their mechanics are more likely to lock the game. Great game, wish I got fewer duplicates.

Generally fun until your opponent "happens" to get a landslide of matches just when you're about to claim a victory. The game also incentives infinite combos and so far has done nothing to patch or nerf such combos, so if you don't have those cards then you're immediately at a disadvantage against others. Pay to win at its finest, don't sink a cent into this.

Fun on the go. Easy to get in and easy to leave. Overwhelming number of cards make it near impossible to get bored. Not good for people who love to have finished their collections. You never get all the cards for that, and new content is being added regularly.

Hey developers. Best get back to the keyboard your latest update has just crashed the game. Can win a battle but can't get the battle results and the game freezes. Tried two different battles and two different heroes. Failed 4times. That's a big bad problem you need to fix

I have a lot of fun playing this game. HOWEVER. Since one of the more recent updates, I get freezes nearly every battle and have to force quit, getting health penalties on my planeswalker in the process. It's SUPER frustrating this keeps happening.

Very fun and lots of content, you need to use multilple colored decks to complete all the objectives making content last even longer 😁 9/10.. i would give 10/10 but there was a bug with the newest content which kept me from completing objectives BUT.. it was fixed within two days. Overall, this is a very fun game!

I see a lot of 1 star reviews from mainly new players. This game has a bit of a learning curve but you can do so much even with common and uncommon cards at all levels of play. It is tough and strategic but that's the appeal. It wont make sense if you are already the best player the day you download the game. You do not even need to spend money to make it in this game. It just takes some time to build your library of cards. Gave 4 stars for the hanging issue. Occurs rarely but can be annoying.

Lots of fun collecting monsters and stuff but it's super obvious that sometimes the game is rigged for you to lose. Your opponent will get lots of mana cascades and you'll get no cascades. You'll be left with no resources while your opponent casts every card in their hand and wipes the floor with you 🤣 it'll be great if they could avoid making matches like this. It feels like a waste of time to play a game just to watch your opponent go berserk while being handcuffed yourself.

Your new expansion is freezing story mode. After defeating the Egyptian bird thing with Jace unraveled it freezes. I'v beat that level twice and it freezes and doesn't give me my gold for casting 7 or more supports or experience or let me continue. Thank you guys and girls for making such a good game!

I don't know why people are giving this 5 stars. There's nothing in this game that matches any rule in magic. There's no blocking so if your opponent has a high powered card even without trample you can easily lose. You don't get any good cards without paying money for them. There's no limit to a specific card you can draw. You add 10 cards and the game just gives you those 10. Someone even had one card always show up and it ended up making their stack a 22/22! Pay to play. Hate this game.

The game is enjoyable for the most part, however balance is bad. I'd even argue that towards the end game, it's straight up rng. The ai getting 7 extract swaps every turn just isn't fun. Tldr: Balance is pretty bad. Collection and design is fine

I like it too much to not give it 5 stars! However, I find controlling things like card ordering and even just opening the sideboard to be messy at times. I can end up hitting things and swapping gems I didn't mean to, if I'm not careful. On a personal note, I feel this game has lost a little of the Puzzle Quest feel, and picked up more of the Magic side. Either way, it's a great marriage!

I love this game and have been playing constantly for the last two months. I have also spent a fair amount of money. This latest update has rendered the game unplayable. Every time I start a game, things start out okay, but after 2-3 matches it starts to chug. Then it freezes and crashes. I then lose my event attempt. Please look into this. Thanks.

Enjoy the game play. Interface with cards in hand could be improved. Better if the mana was built up and used to play card chosen by the player instead of managing which cards build mana individually, more like the original card game.

Every time I complete a pve stage, the app gets stuck on the objectives screen and doesn't count the completion. Only way to get out of the screen is to close the app entirely.

This game is pretty good, but there are some things I don't really like. My suggestions to the developers is when there is an effect that creates X tokens/supports, show it once with the number. It gets tedious to tap for each one, on mobile. Another observation I have made is supports that disable creatures are unfairly placed. The AI typically has it placed far from where you can match to take it out, but the player usually loses the same support within a match or two.

I'd like to rate this 5 stars, because it honestly is a lot of fun, but unfortunately it suffers from pay-to-win. The majority of content involves events that pit you against other player's decks in asynchronous PvP, and it quickly becomes apparent that without spending the big bucks for the rarest and most overpowered of cards, odds are very good that you will be overwhelmingly crushed in the first few rounds no matter how well you play. There's nothing fun about getting thrashed by whales.

There's alot of ppl complaining that it's a "play to win" game but I disagree! You can spend all the money you want but the cards you get are completely random and rarely get decent cards that you don't already have which is why I quit buying packs. Duplicates are traded in for "crafting" points but still random cards & you need hundreds of duplicate cards to get anything good. This "random card" aspect of the game needs to be corrected if they want more of my money!

Since the update whenever I finish a battle it freezes and I have to restart the app. Also when I go to edit my deck it doesnt give me the option so again I have to restart the app.

There's some balancing issues which makes it difficult to even bother playing with other planeswalkers other than a Garruk and one of the Ajanis. With that being said, this is still quite fun, you can easily style your gameplay and adjust challenge rating with weaker planeswalkers/decks. Matching system for mana, and how the 'cards' work in this game are great. It's quite easy and fair to play this game for free, you can speed things up with spending some cash. Great game, and loads of fun!

I used to love this game until they upped the cost to play the tournaments and the prizes dont match the amount you spend so you lose gold when the whole point is to get your gold up to buy other plainswalkers. I barely play anymore because of this.

no gimmicks, some ads for rewards, it's just a good game. With that being said it is not necessarily p2p but....the prices for packs or monthly subscriptions is forking ridiculous. It's a digital card game, come on WotC. There are lots of opportunities to get cards, but it's kinda grind heavy. Some UI issues like deck switching when running story mode. No keyword library that I have seen, makes it difficult for those who are not familiar with MTG.

Started fine then log in error lost account info. Started into the game fine played for a few days, logged in today to find it has kicked me back to the starter quest? Cannot force a relogin or get back to my account so basically starting again? No thanks, uninstalled.
