Magnetic Tool

Ensuring that a solenoid valve coil is working properly, or detecting a faulty one, is an important step in many repair or installation projects. Up until now, service technicians and installers have had to rely on a variety of different methods and tools for that step, including a popular magnetic field-detecting keyring. But now there’s something much more accessible and convenient.

The new Magnetic Tool app makes testing a solenoid valve coil quick and easy and is available globally for Android and iPhone.

You always have the right tool with you because it’s just a tap away. Not only is it more convenient, it’s also more precise. Magnetic Tool provides information about the magnetic field of an AC or DC coil in a solenoid valve. It can also indicate the rotation direction of certain types of pumps, helping you determine the correct way to install them in a system.

Magnetic Tool also allows you to take a picture of the faulty component, so you can document the repair procedure and share it with your customers.

Magnetic Tool is part of the Danfoss CoolApps Toolbox, a collection of mobile apps designed to help installers and service technicians with their daily tasks. Find out more at CoolApps.Danfoss.com.

Bloody hell! I never thought that I don't have to use a conventional solenoid valve tester anymore. It makes my commissioning life easier. I don't have to peek on the display to check if my solenoid is energized. Just hearing the sound and vibration is enough! Thank you very much Danfoss!!!

I just tried the Magnetic Tool and It did actually work! For those of you who say it doesn't work may I suggest that you take the case off and try. You have to be almost on the valve for it to work at least for me. Neat little gadget. Thanks Danfoss!

Yeah sorry would love to have been able to write something up beat and positive... but it's just a really bad app....why doesn't Google play test the apps that are in the play store...on a positive note, no loud annoying ads.... that's why I havegiven it 1 star....

It shows emf no doubt but turning of circle DOES NOT indicate that pump is actually turning/running or direction of pump. This means one has to use other ways yo check the pump.

This application is very helpful and assume... its works perfectly with both power supplies like AC and DC...

Helps a bit to display magnetic field strength change. Vibrates the phone once the detected field strength is greater than the entered value.

It's quite difficult to set threshold limit, how to know limit for individuals solenoid coils,or it is default for each coil. Please share the process, if I want to check 24v dc supply solenoid coil so what is a threshold limit.
