I'm sorry, but this was just horrible. 1st, the focus is not. It just doesn't exist. I tried to read small text from a CD case and all I could see was a blurred line of totally unreadable text. Other similar apps show a very sharp text at same zoom level. Edit: OK, it can focus, but it only does when you tap the screen. Not acceptable, and you better have a steady hand too. A magnifier should auto focus, but an additional feature where you tap the screen and overriding auto focus it would focus on the spot you touch. 2nd, the icons aren't intuitive. I wondered what on earth is that alphabet icon until I tried and saw it was invert. The strobo light was a try and be surprised, and not in a pleasing way. I mean, lose it, it makes no sense and is annoying. But hey, as long as you don't get the focus right, you won't have any users. So fix it, and remember, this is the kind of that everyone wants one, but there's also a ton of others, so think of a useful feature for magnifier app that could make yours the best. Edit: Ok, some people find the flashlights strobo feature useful, but the icon was not intuitive at all to me... Maybe just have a look at icons from other similar programs...
I tried to use it to read a supplement label - just as shown in the app description photos /examples. It made the bottle look larger but completely out of focus. Worse than trying to read the label without aid. To give it a fair shot (to make sure it was not user error) I tried all of the different modes and settings. I was unable to improve the image.
I was in Costco today trying to read the instructions on a power washer fluid. They were too small to read and I had forgotten my glasses. I pulled up the app and one tap gave me a screen that was focused . The magnification bar makes it easy to control the size of the font to make it convenient to read. If I don't want to read it I again tap on the camera button and take it home and read it. I find this app very Convenient and easy to use.
Very useful app! I installed the app so I could get a magnified view of my Bluetooth headset's charger cord connecter, I was concerned as it was very hard to connect, sure enough, after checking it w/this app, I could see the tiny connecter was slightly bent. It's easy to adjust the magnification and take pics with the app too, great for a free app, highly recommended!
Not the best magnifier. First, there is no autofocus, which makes it harder to use one handed. Second, image stabilizer is not on, so image is shaky. And finally THE WORST is that screensaver is active during app run, so it goes dim after 15 seconds and turns off after 30 seconds, just while you use it. Sorry, that's not usable for me.
good magifier with flashlight, and the magnifier retains image resolution very well regardless of spatial extention ---from a few inches, to one ft, to the living room door (limit of my testing). images are bright, crisp, with variable mag. other features: takes pics , w/ or w/o flashlight, and and a strobe light, and, a slide/button controlling the overall size of the screen/image, recorded or not.
I LOVE this app! It really allows you to focus in on tiny objects with clarity. It's actually come in handy not just for recreational purposes, but for practical purposes as well. This is simple yet effective. It does exactly what it's intended to do. I highly recommend getting this app if you have an interest in studying small objects, or rather, need to see small details or read fine print. Reading fine print is no problem thanks to this app. I think Everybody should have this utility handy
I like this flashlight because it gives me the ability to also take a photo while the flashlight is in use. It has been helpful trying to photograph very small objects because of the zoom, when my phone camera cannot get close enough. I gave this app a 4 rating because it has a delay in starting when you first push the button.
After trying many different apps I found this one actually does what I need. As a marine electrician I am often given schematics with ridiculously tiny text, or tiny terminal numbers embossed on connectors or relay blocks, commonly with no contrast. This app will both zoom in incredibly close and focus where my camera alone wouldn't. Plus you can take a pic and save your battery from running the flashlight non-stop.
I've had an experience similar to Katherine's. The app has worked very well for a few years, but now it doesnt present a picture after I've focused and snapped. The app insists that I install an update, and I have, but the problem persists. My Pixel phone is 8 months old & running Android 12, so antiquation cannot be a reason. Gotta look elsewhere I guess.
I'll give your applet 1 star. The main reason is that your applet is asking repeatedly to give 5 stars. Instead you should simply ask to rate it. Secondly the light goes off when I lock the screen. Stupid! Furthermore the light also goes off every minute or so. Not very helpful when in a dark spot. Moving on to another applet.
It comes in much handier than I thought it would. There are times when, even with my glasses on, I can't quite make out some text on something or if I'm examining some old photos. Definitely A+++++! 8/21/2020 Yeah, I keep reaching for it more and more. You can throw on 3 or 4 more pluses to my last rating.
This is an app I use every day. It feels like my eyesight gets worse every day anymore, so this is a great tool to have on my home screen at the ready. The light can be turned on or off as needed, but it is great to have the option. The magnifier aspect has helpful, easy features that anyone can use. Highly recommend this.
Could not get to properly focus on very small print no matter what I tried. Next I tried an equally rated competing free app and it worked perfectly on the same print just a few minutes later, no adjustments at all needed - perfect the very first time. That is what I give 5 stars for. Fix this app & you'll get 5 stars :)
**update*** after the last update to my phone from my carrier when I try to use this it will no longer take a picture. I think my software update messed up how this app functions. It still has permissions and I uninstalled and reinstalled etc I'm bummed!! I've had this on every smart phone I've had for years Love it.
I loved this app on the Note 8 phone but on the Note 9 when I press the A button at the bottom left to invert the colors, the app closes immediately. Ie.. the app crashes. Is there a patch for this? I hope so, this was one of my favorite apps before the crashing began.
This is a good magnifier flashlight. I like the multiple options. Easily adjust the amount of magnification. Turn light on/off, etc. Great for menus, cards, etc. I would recommend.
Not sure how this app got so many positive reviews. It did not work for me at all. It was much worse than using the phone's built in camera. At least using the camera, it auto focuses and allows zooming in while camera auto focus. This app provided no auto focusing ability. I was expecting it to be just like using the built in camera. It was much worse.
Used to work great, has been useless for months, and no updates. Guess it's time to move on (locks up with black screen when trying to take picture)
Best magnifier I've ever used. I would have given it five stars if it had the ability to use the "Selfie " side camera as well. Sometimes it would be helpful to use the magnifier to see something on my face or head. But, all in all, it's a great app. My compliments to it's developer(s).
This app is amazing. so easy to use! I like the "slide" adjustmen over the ones that "jump" in increments. Had a splinter I couldn't see. Used this magnifier and used it's camera for a picture of what showed up. Presto! A perfect picture of the splinter so I could remove it!
Been using the app for a long time but one day it just stopped taking pictures. I hear the camera sound but then screen goes black and freezes. Uninstalled the app and reinstalled. No such luck. Running on a google pixel 2xl. Was good while it worked and the ads weren't too overly intrusive.
I love this magnifying glass app, it is EXACTLY like a real magnifying glass that the focus is manual. The manual focus gives me more control. it comes on with the flashlight on, zoom in on the live camera and you can take a picture to zoom in even further.
Pretty good, has helped me a lot. However 2 cons I have come across is that the flashlight automatically comes on when you open the app. Also, after a short amount of time the app goes off as if it was inactive. That is my only complaints.
Can't focus clearly on small text. There are other magnifiers that are able to auto focus with much greater accuracy and clarity. It was too much of a strain to use this app for reading, compared to others out there. Using LG G6 with 13 MP camera.
Stopped taking pictures after long time using it. The focus is way better than either phone I've used it on. I had Premium version on my s9. I just deleted all 151 pictures I'd taken on my s20, but it still isn't actually storing any pictures. It acts like it's taking one.
great app. As you can see from the reviews the focus doesn't work well for a few people, and they gave it a low rating where everybody else gave it a five. so give it a try. has a text button for inverting the colors to make it easier to read text in some situations. also has a strobe button to flash the light, could be useful in certain situations. also has the ability to save a picture of the current View, very convenient.
