This is a very fun app and a wonderful concept, but I have a few issues. The app itself feels very clunky. If I generate a list of magic items and then favorite one, I can't continue to generate more and instead I must go back and filter my generations again. When I visit the list of items and select one to look at I can't just go back to the list. If I click the arrow on my phone to go back it sends me farther back then the list I was on. Otherwise it's a fun and useful app.
Great for what I need as a dungeon master. Looks professional and you can add your own pictures. Absolutely perfect EXCEPT, there is a bug where if you add too much text the whole thing goes blank. So if you have a complex item that requires a BUNCH of text it wont fit. But it's hardly been a problem, you can still fit a lot of info.
Fantastic app for generating fantasy items, creating custom items, or just looking for inspiration. The artwork is fantastic, the UI is great, the prices are very reasonable (1$ per new set), and I am always excited whenever a new set of art is released. As a DM, I find myself using this app to make images of the special items my players find in their games. Even though the game generates items to be used with D&D, being able to fully customize text makes it flexible for all kinds of TTRPGs.
Overall, this app is fantastic. The creator-made items that come with it are fun, but the biggest strength of this app is the ability to fully customize your own items. The interface is easy to use and figure out, and the provided artworks are really pretty. Yes, there are additional art packs for purchase, but with the ability to upload your own pictures, you don't need them. I mean, I bought them anyway. They look great. The one addition I'd like to see is text formatting (bold, italic, etc.).
Overall, it has a nice item generator, and it seems more is being added. I also really like the information layout of the individual items, and the ease of creating my own. I would recommend this more if it had a better organization system. Such as a way to create folders and set certain items into them. Or at the very least be able to sort by rarity. As it stands, its still faster to look from my paper notes when looking through my item or shop lists to decide what to give as loot.
I definitely like the app for generating some random items on the fly however I wish some of them were a bit more creative mechanically. The item names attribute more to the flavour text which is nice but not so much to the mechanic of the item but it's a jumping point for you, the DM, to add to it and make custom items, which I like. One thing I'm confused about after buying the master collection is I can still purchase the other packs so I really don't know if they are included in the master collection or not. Would be nice to have it clarified or greyed out if they are.
Overall first impression is decent. Issue is that I can't find a way to just view the various items in list form (this includes after purchasing one of the item packs). I saw the way to generate an item after applying filters but that isn't searching for items or seeing a list. If such an option is there, I would love to be pointed to it. If it is not available, I would love to have it added (and it would increase my personal rating of this app)
Great application, and would rate it 5, but there is a significant glitch where if you try to customize an item, Everytime you type, it moves the screen up and you have to select the line below the line you want to put the curser making it almost impossible to edit. It also doesn't always save changing the items name.
The app at a glance looks wonderful. My only gripe is with the additional content not being bundled. You have to purchase each set seperately. It would be nice if there was a way to just purchae everything at once. Maybe consider adding a cart feature where we can select everything we want and make 1 single purchase. Ya could Just make a bundle that has it all but it would make adding more content Abit messy so a "cart system" would probably be the best route.
So far enjoying the app alot. Only a few minor things to make it perfect, like the quality of the image when sharing it it seems to be quite low quality but that could be my phone. A option to save it directly to the device would be a great feature would make it easier than having to share it and than save it. But still really enjoying the app I've recommended it to my players and are all enjoying using it to make cards but the quality is a little poor hopefully the image file can be improved.
it is really great love how I can just make a item random for my party in dnd. and love the unique power of some. have to change some stuff to make them balance for my 5e but I suspect it for use other editions and other games aswell. I do recommend if you are reading this is to put a search bar for saved items so you can find them more easy and can make Categories for certain items. other then that really good.
I absolutely love this app. Great for random items or homebrew. Only recommendations would be: -To be able to make a random item by "ring" or "amulet" etc in addition to the general "arcane" type. -Increased amount of item's descriptions and abilities. Also possibly a randomizer which combines different parts of the already existing functions. -More ring and amulet pictures Still, this is my favorite item generator. And uploading your on pics is great too.
I've had this app for a while and its a really great tool for creating your own items. Even if you dont get the extra item pictures, it has a great organization system. Nice randoms too. BUT!!! I really wish there was a way to export the items ive created or share them because its a hassel trying to move the information between devices. Are there any plans for some kind of share feature? (Haha..... Haha.... Yes there is..... Right there......awesome app.)
Easily my most used item generator random or created. I'd do 5 stars but it lacks the option to put in your own images for homebrew items. And I am admittedly a cheap skate I'd buy more add ons if they cost less but that in no way lowers my rating for you that's all on the images. Potentially an app purchase for a bulk of item images without descriptions I'd happily pay for that over the extra items.
I love the app and i use it frequently when I run dnd but i have one request. Could you release a pack of stuff from the dmg that isn't stuff you have created for the app. I love the original content but if you could also incorporate all of the original equipment and magical items without having to click on "random" a bunch of times it would be 5 stars. You should add like a master list od everything on the app and an ability to search and to filter rarity and item type etc.
Fairly meh. The items themselves are boring and unoriginal. It seems like half of the magical effects simply just add damage die, or maximize the rolls on damage die, making for one dimensional, repetitive items. The actual layout of the app is quite well done, but many of the items must be bought.
The items available seem pretty interesting, and I know the app includes items from the DM's guide, but I couldn't find a full list containing all the items I was allowed to view, nor could I find an option to search for a specific item. This was a deal breaker for me, as such a function is specifically what I'm looking for in this kind of app.
been using this app nonstop since I installed it. I'm dming for multiple campaigns, and it's a godsend! The edit interface is a little sticky and I'd love to see more representation for 'monstrous' races like orcs, goblins, lizardmen... but other than that, gosh, i just love it. bless you guys forever, can't wait for the next pack.
I revise my previous review. Perhaps it was some sort of glitch but when I had originally posted everything was missing from my saved group but it appears to be back now. My feelings are no longer hurt and I can say with 100% certain that I love this app and I think anyone who loves to make items should have it.
This is actually a really cool app, I just wish it was updated more often. The number of item images is pretty limited, even after buying several of the expansions. There are other apps that let you do the same thing but you can just import pictures to it.
Really wonderfull app!! I and my friends are realy enjoyng the item of magwa and also the crafted from random generator ^^. I report some little annoyng bug (both on Android and iOS version) 1) On the item creation tab, the Image of "darkwood sprig" wand and "branch of the mother tree"" staff are not shown and selectable. The only way to use them is to make the random generator create an item with it; than edit it for your own porpouse!! 2) When you use the random generator for craft wondrous item, the "book" from master selection pack are never picked from the tool. They also missing on magwa item list, making them only usefull for manualy own scope and creativity. 3) When you buy an item pack, not all the image on the list actualy add a real item on magwa item list. Is that intentionaly?
I'm terrible at making custom items and this app has been a blessing by Tyr. I only have two more packs to purchase before I've collected them all and I cannot wait for more to come out. Easy to use interface, items looks great, the ability to create custom items. This has been one of my most used apps when creating dnd games.
Great for making and organizing items. One thing: Some of your items talk about charts, like the fracture bow. These charts do not show at all. Also, when I put my own items into the generation tool, it replaces the generation button with the share button and I cant continue to generate items.
I love it and more importantly my players love it. Fast, functional, cohesive and user friendly UI with great look and feel. Ended up getting all the expansions cause my group was digging the items. Thanks for this great app, it's an easy 5 stars and I highly recommend it to any 5e player or DM.
I like the app a lot, only things I'd love to see is way to organize my lists and categorize them. Although even that would just be a perk to an already great app. I even sprung for the "added arts and stuff" and I never do that on apps lol. All and all I highly recommend it.
I love the items, descriptions and pictures! This is so helpful as a dm and exactly what I try to do with my homebrew items but it gets tedious after a while. Prices are good for paid content and I'm happy to pay for the quality My only criticism is that saved items are kinda a pain to search through. A simple update to allow you better navigational access would fix this. Allow you to sort paid content from random, sort by rarity or type, etc.
This app is great and I love the art and feel the cards give to the items. There is only a drawback that I'd love to see addressed: I would also love to know how many "items" are included in a said pack before purchase. So, yeah, UI on the store front could be better and it feels unclear on how many descriptions you're actually buying, besides the art (Looking at you, The Master Collection).
