Was a great app when I first installed it and yes there was ads mixed in with my email but now after the latest update it appears that there's an ad that's played every 30 seconds to a minute.. it actually just started happening today I can't even scroll through my emails to look to find one to read before an ad pops up and starts playing.. I don't mind the ads mixed in with my email but this is a bit ridiculous...
Ads are becoming too intrusive. Opening the app, clicking on an email, clearing out spam or trash, ect, causes a full page ad to pop up filling the entire screen. This gets in the way of what I'm doing and is pretty annoying. *Edit for clarification: I understand the ads help keep the app free to use and the ones already there don't bother me as much. But a full page ad that blocks the entire site from view is intrusive & counterproductive for business/work.
This used to be the best email app but unfortunately the latest updates have not brought any improvement. On the contrary. When I open an email, I can no longer see the sender, date or subject, just big white space. What's also annoying is this huge pop up window about privacy. I chose my settings and that should be it. Everything else is fine but these issued need to be fixed.
Too many ads... again. Looking back at old reviews, it's clear that the devs crank up the ad content and pop-ups periodically. They should stop doing that because it renders the app unusable. I can't even imagine how many users they've permanently lost over this, but I'm seriously considering uninstalling.
I like the app but one issue doesn't seem to be fixed yet. Everytime I reply to an email, the subject has 'Re:' added - every single time! So, if I reply three times to an email chain then the subject reads - 'Re: Re: Re:...'. Shouldn't this be a simple logic to build where the 'Re:' is added only once when we reply for the first time?
How SNEAKY, DESPERATE, & UNDERHANDED can you get? Not only do you place ads between emails, sometimes have one at the bottom of the page, you have now gone back to also popping open full-page ads. The full-page ads tend to open right after I've read a bunch of emails and am trying to swipe left to delete the emails I don't need, causing the ad to open up. Only stick to one type of ad; 3 types screams of desperation, while popping open full-page ads unexpectedly is flat out sneaky and desperate.
I am forced to use this app as you need to pay a subscription if you want to add your account to any "third party" mail service which is typically the default email app on your phone. Also, I can't see any media in my emails so I assume I have to pay a subscription to see those.
My "go to" email service. Web layout is good. Printed emails are clean and layed out well ( professional looking). Ability to manage folders and sub-folders is excellent. Additional services are great as well.
The amount of ads recently skyrocketed, including a large number of full screen popup ads, making for a far less usable experience. Additionally, the main website added a forced secondary logon if you have an ad blocker enabled. Overall, it's clear that the potential for pennies in ad revenue are taking priority over the user experience.
Since the last update my app keeps crashing and I can navigate my emails other than the inbox on my phone. Accessing my emailed on the computer no problem. I use my phone though the most and someone's needs to fix this cause I use my email on the fly and really find this annoying. PLEASE FIX THIS!
Much more convenient then having to sign in every time online and having to click on the little envelope in right top corner lol that was rather annoying . but app works decent enough, however I do wish there were some other basic helpful features such as the ability to bulk select emails to choose to erase them, save them elsewhere as well as ability to flag them. I personally use that feature super often on mac book And wish I could on this app as well.
Since the last update, the app keeps shutting down and restarting whenever I look at an email. I thought it was the email itself but when I view a different email message, same issue is happening. Will remove negative review when the problem is fixed.
been using this app for years with my GMX Account and love it! Ad's are 100% NOT invasive, people complaining are just idiots or really old and confused about technology, they don't pop up or anything they just look like emails except they say "Ad" on the right side and are slightly Grey background vs white like all the emails. if you click on one you can hit the Back icon and instantly be in your inbox again. The app has to pay for itself somehow...
My favorite mail app. I love the optional security feature of requiring biometrics each time I try to view my mail. I also like how fast it processes mail. And of course the email address options.
If you want basic, this is it, this is backwards. Even the browser version of this webmail is incredibly backwards and simple, you cannot even set a send delay without paying for it.
It's important to know what you're getting with the free version: choice of clever domain names, filters, folders, etc. Setting these up requires using the web interface, which IMHO, is confusing in its complexity. The Android app is simple and easy to use. What you don't get is the ability to use IMAP or email forwarding with other email services, or applications like Thunderbird. Just so you know...
My go-to mail app for several years. Would have ranked it 5 stars, but then the ads started to appear. I don't mind ads as such but when they start looking like e-mails in your inbox, it becomes a productivity issue. Had issues with the stability of the app but they resolved themselves.
Latest update adds pop up advertisements. They decided to fill my inbox full of ads. Every third email is a clickbait link to an advert. Makes it impossible to go through your new emails properly.
has ads pop up during email review. I've never been able to send an email from computer to respond d with atta hints. can only do si.ple text response on phone. Not so great unfortunately.
Are you kidding me with this ad garbage? Full page pop-up videos after every 20 seconds? I'm not paying MONTHLY. That's insane. Make it a one time payment and I'll buy your garbage app to make it normal.
I've enjoyed this email service since signing up for it in 2017. i like to suman name in my email address especially. It's a great conversation piece, as well as a segway to share information about the service. It's easy to use, and pretty straight forward. The app is set up to take you right to your inbox, with a great navigation menu on the left. Thank you for an email service that is easy to use and offers a complimentary app.
For some reason, I can no longer access my email from my phone. There is some indication that my IP address has been blocked. Of course, there is no explanation, but I am suddenly unable to access on my phone an account that I have had for over 20 years. Mind you, I can still access it on other devices. I just can't use the one that I carry all the time. I suspect that I will be looking for a different company to handle all emails that I receive as a customer for other businesses.
This was a great mail service until now where there is a excessive amount of adverts not only when opening EVERY email but when scrolling through. Will be changing to a different email provider as this is unacceptable.
Works OK, but despite the claims by mail. Com, it is impossible to mark a mail as spam in the app. The menu option is not there. I have been in touch with tech support and after trying everything they suggested they just said sorry it doesn't work. I have a Samsung s20fe so nothing unusual. Very disappointing.
Got a problem with the syncing! I will have a notification that it's syncing for hours! The only way to get rid of that notification is to open the app! Fix this and you get 5 stars!Pretty cool free email service! So far so good except for the syncing notification!!
I enjoy using the app and have used it for few years now. But the ads are becoming annoying. I understand you need them to make more but do they need to be so frequent?
this email is every bit as good as any , Google and Yahoo included. I recommend after almost a year using, that all my friends and family switch. top notch app. I'd say 5stars or 9.5 of 10.
It's just a good, hassel free email service that provides an excellent product. Give it an honest try and I am sure you will be very pleased with what mail. com has to offer.
Hands-down the best free email service available! Great app, lots of efficient features make easy to sort and read mail. Easy to navigate, clean of clutter, great layout. The only thing I can think to add would be the ability to create a filter rule for an address by selecting an unwanted email. Thanks for this superb app.
