MAME4droid (0.37b5)
MAME4droid emulates arcade games supported by original MAME 0.37b5 plus some additional games from newer MAME versions.
This version emulates over 2000 different romsets.
Please, try to understand that that with that amount of games, some will run better than others and some might not even run with MAME4droid. Please, don't email me asking for a specific game to run.
Owners of older devices should not expect good performance. Tips to help performance: use lower quality sound or switch it off, use 8 bit depth, underclock the CPU and Sound CPUs. Disable stick and buttons animations and disable smooth scaling also.
After installing, place your MAME-titled zipped roms in /sdcard/ROMs/MAME4all/roms folder.
MAME4droid uses only MAME4droid & iMAME4all uses only '0.37b5', 'GP2X, WIZ 0.37b11 mame romset'. Use "clrmame.dat" file included in /sdcard/ROMs/MAME4all/ to convert romsets from other MAME versions to the ones used by this version, using ClrMAME Pro utility, available in this URL:

There are some roms that will function without issue and other roms that wont. The prompt states that the rom is missing a few files which is unusual since those exact roms were running just fine using an alternate emulator. The COIN feature inexplicably stopped working and I had to delete and re-install my roms which was incredibly tedious. Other than these significant flaws, the interface is great.
Im looking for a ROM for street fighter, doesnt work... Other roms work perfect with street fighter, but the only reason why i dont use them, is because they do not have a joystick, playing street fighter is frustrating sliding you finger on a d pad, and i find a joystick one, perfect for street fighter, but no, not all games work... Other roms work better for other games...😧
I got this app to play neo geo gamea. It's free and has no ads. However it is difficult to use and requires bios of emulator and does not have save state. Come on save state has been around since the 90s . If it included this it would be great
With the correct romset (MAME 2003) this is the absolute best you'll get for the lower end devices (single or dual core). A full 2003 romset is just over 1GB, whereas a full 2010 set is almost 20gb. If you've got a more modern device with a quad or octa then go for 2010 (Red MAME)
Old times of going to the Arcade that was on the 80,s. I truly enjoy this. Great games Tekken, Mortal Kombat, Star Trek,. So many of my old favorite games. No need for quarter,s. I played all these games back in the 80,s
Crashes occasionally and won't let me play landscape arcade games in landscape mode which is kinda disappointing, but otherwise very playable.
I downloaded this for one game and one game only for yi ar Kung fu the one I used to play when I would run to the local liquor store to play when I was a child.. it brings back the best memories and I get a warm feeling playing a few minutes at a time as it takes me away. Only thing is it took forever to figure how to link the rom to the app
I cannot access the mame menu anymore, it was working fine, but now nothing. I even tried deleting the app, but it seems like its not completely deleting the app and when I reinstall, it's still the same.
It says 0.37b5 right in name, but once you run it, it says you need 0.37b11. Also, it created its own system folder in the internal device storage so you can't copy your ROMs to an SD card. Uninstalled immediately.
It's hard to use the virtual joystick because you can't feel when your finger is no longer on it. There is no fix for that except to become adept at using it, or use an external controller.
this app works great for emulating some old arcade games but I'm switching over to a different version of the mame emulator. This version hasn't been updated since 2015 smh
First the app run really good but recently while playing a setting window popup and it change everything. Even can not put the coin and start the game, pls fix....
love the abilityto seamlessly play old retro games. the reasson for three stsrs would be the difficulty of getting the correct fikes kn tbe right spots in krddr to play them through this emulator
Am trying to play but it tells me to change ROM and when i do it doesn't show any game...why? Please tell me how must i play this game box...i know it's interesting but now is disappointing me ...
This emulator is great only problem I have is there is no way to play Multiplayer with two controllers on one screen other than that great app
Its great but i had a lot of errors but please update.. because the rom selection,graphics,controls were freaking amazing.
This is a great app I love this app I wish and hope the ravello purse will update the app and not abandon a because it's an awesome app because the last update was made June 15th 2015 bring back this awesome app and updated soon thank you because if it is it's not updated this app will not work good with many games that's the reason why there is a lot of issues and problems with many games is because the app is knock being up-to-date but please updated soon thank you and keep up the good work
I could never download a damn game to it. I even download a file manager and still could not transfer the games to it.it never showed the roms.
This is very nice game apk. But its had a problem ... it does not running better because this apk is very old (5yrs). So i requested for apk owner please update it and make a best game because it is better for pubg mobile.
Outdated Android API. The app was built for an older version and cannot access storage on Android 9.0
When I put the rom into the roms folder it doesn't appear when I start up the emulator but with the mame4droid 0.139u1 I did the exact same thing and it worked perfectly?
Same as their other version probably just tweaked on the interface it works ive got Super Street Fighter 2 to run on it😂

Rom must on mame4all folder. If choose not recommended path it won't able to choose any folder of roms
This is the best but it sometimes gives a menu that u cant get out of unless u exit and lose your games data
very original I love the fact that I'm able to play retro arcade games like back in the day I love this app

Awesome..The Best Arcade Emulator Period.. Works with many of my old MAME roms Just great! I Tried other Emulator apps.This one even plays my Neo Geo Nebula roms .No emulator can play all roms.I have 50,000 roms and many will not work on any Emulator PC or Android.It's add free and plays thousands of roms..I had no problem with finding the room folder and also no problem displaying the roms in the app.Drag the roms to the folder and it displays them.
