I'm having the same problem as I once had with the previous version of the app, I can't choose a right'-to-left reading style; it always turns out really complecated and inaccurate.. the page too can't turn back to it's normal size once I zoom out. which is a thing that is really annoying. The app overall is a beautiful thing, but I really hope that these minor problems get fixed soon!
I had the original version and it worked just fine. After an update (I guess?) it was replaced by this one that works the same way..I got too lazy to skip the ads tho and as the fee is really small I pay for the premium version. I'm aware there are surely some apps that could do the same even without paying but I'm pretty satisfied with the choice of servers, the download option, the way of turning pages and more custom settings this app offers, so for $0.80 a month? Sure.
It's ok, but there's some bad issues. Manga I've read have less than 140p res, there's no option to report unreadable quality. Changing sources does nothing, and those very low res pages take a while to load, so it's hard to tell whether it's uploader or server side. Every single time you go back, even within a few seconds, you get an advert. Not necessary, but it'd be good if there's an option to remove the black bar between pages, so it's seamless for webtoon-like manga. Still best manga app
The app is actually pretty good. The second best I have ever used. But the biggest problem in my opinion is that some chapters have the pages with the resolution bizarrely low. Is completely unreadable, and even when I change the source it sometimes don't work. When I try change the resolution of the chapter it turns black. This app would be my top 1 if wasn't this issue.
It works like a charm! It has all the latest manga and it is easy to use. Not to mention the fact that you can read offline by downloading the chapters. This comes in handy in a country that doesn't have a stable electricity supply. One problem tho. When searching for mangas with more than one title, miss spelling it or not typing the full title the search results doesn't display anything not even the closest alternative title. It would improve the experience if you fix this.
I've only used it a little since switching from Manga Rock. It seems fine (not as good as Manga rock tho) but what bothers me the most is that the reading direction "right to left" doesn't work properly. You have to swipe the in opposite direction for it to scroll, which defeats the whole purpose of being able to switch reading direction. Otherwise, it would be nice if you could add MangaDex as a source.
I wasn't sure what kind of quality to expect from this app, but it turned out to be a pleasant surprise! Excellent selection of titles, great quality scans (even when not in HD!), and easy navigation! The occasional ads while reading aren't even that big of a deal, since they're really easy to just scroll past! Honestly, I think this app qualifies as my best mobile manga experience to date!
It's great that you have a decent amount of manga to read but it has too many flaws as an app. I hate having to go through video ads Everytime I'm going in and out chapters to find where I was. If I select the wrong chapter and want to get out to select a different one i get an unskippable ad. I do this multiple times to find where I was and it annoys me to have to watch an ad. Or if I'm checking out a series and what to see what the art style is like i have to watch an ad before i can leave.
I love this app! It works great and has a great variety. My only complaint is that I can't mark Manga I've finished as being finished. I can't always remember names of Manga I've read, so I end up either keeping it all in my favorites or adding Manga I've read back into my favorites. It gets pretty confusing and a bit frustrating. I had an app once that allowed me to create folders. I think that would be a great addition.
I've looked on multiple books and it affects a lot of them. When I tap on a chapter the page images will show up black with white Xs in the middle instead of the illustration. I've tried closing the app, reloading the app, clicking out of the chapter. I also noticed they didn't have a place to report issues to. If anyone knows how to fix the X problem I would appreciate their help. Is this problem premium related? I'm really missing one of the sites added to this app.🙁
I LOVE Manga Geek - it has so many options to read and you can zoom in without having to pay for it (manga reader, and a few others do that). The only problem, however, is that some of my manga has NO image for the cover, which gets annoying when I can't remember the name of a manga but its cover. Otherwise I really recommend!! 😄😄❤️ EDIT: I have another problem with the app that seems consistent no matter what I do. I'm unable to backup or restore manga that I have in my favorites. Plz fix. 😭
It's a good manga reader app. Easy to use and navigate. It also loads things quite fast. The only down side is that you have to watch an ad everytime you finish a chapter and go to the next or you back out. It may not even the apps fault. It's that its probably the only way to get proper revenue to keep the app going which is a plague in every app that will probably never go away.
Great app, with amazing features and content, my only issue is the quality, there's a low and a high variant, and the high variant is really nice and looks amazing. But after the first time using the app, the option to change the quality disappeared, and for the life of me there is no way to change it back, so I really don't have any idea why it's like that. The low quality isn't bad, it's readable, it's just dampening the experience of the app for me. Otherwise fantastic.
It is a good app, but the ads are annoying. It also is a problem that some of the chapters are blurry no matter what source you use to read it. Also the blurry issue is inconsistent as well, I've seen a manga have 20 to 30 chapters clean, then 4 to 5 or more chapters go blurry, then back to clean. If they could fix this and make sure to release new chapters without a blur, that would make it better.
Good app. The reader is a little clunky, but the ads are really unobtrusive. You have quite a few servers to choose from, and by the looks it has variety. I'd tell you to work in pre-loading the pages before you reach them, because on slow connections you can easily note that they only load when you are one before (I'd suggest a preload of at least 8 pages after the one you are reading to ensure fluidity).
It's okay, but the search functions has its bugs. It doesn't seem to work if you input multiple words or phrases, it only detects a keyword to a series and that's annoying. Sometimes the manga doesn't show up, even if you change the source website. Hopefully this'll get fixed, I could've given a higher rating, but I'll reserve that once this issue gets fixed.
I don't know if anyone else has experienced this, but some of the pages of the manga are unclear. The words are difficult to make out and the images are fuzzy. And I've also experienced having to reload chapters only to be sent backwards instead of being on the right chapter. Otherwise this would be a great app! Easy to navigate, minimal adds, fun to customize.
A well designed app that is easy to use and navigate. Occasionally there will be pages that don't load, but that is usually fixed by giving it some time and a refresh. The one problem I have with this app is the selection. I use another (less stable) manga app in conjunction with this one because there is a lot of manga that simply isn't available here. I do recommend using this reader. Just know you are missing a lot.
Great all around; I'm sure it won't meet some people's preferences, but it's perfect for me. The only good app I've found Chinese Martial art manga (if I can't find a manga elsewhere, I'm bound to find it here), also had no issues with it; even got backed up data from a different similar (but not as good) app into this one, so more than happy for sure. Ads are there as expected; but extremely well placed in my opinion, I don't notice those that don't catch my eye yet I still look at them all.
My go-to for manga reading. Probably the main issue I have with is how the app is defaulted to normal definition because that feature is practically useless. The quality of the images is so bad that you have to view it in high definition anyway. I understand the use of ads but I have come across some that made me feel uncomfortable/creeped out or invasive, relating to off-site purchases I made. The selection of manga is okay but I wish there were more genres and series available.
It's a really great app and I can read and catch up on a bunch of different kinds of manga. However some of them are maybe scanned poorly and the quality is unreadable. Edit: I love the app but now it has as much ads as the older app when this one replaced it. I can't finish a chapter without watching an ad. I'm really disappointed.
(update) I had an issue with the picture quality of the manga, which was sorted by pressing the middle of the screen once tge manga is loaded. From there you can see 2 squares with arrows. Click there and choose high definition, and sorted. The team got back to me very quickly which is part of the reason for my 5 star rating. The other reasons are the massive selection of manga, plenty of customisable options, tagging favourites, and download option. The best manga app there is.
Great app, it saves where you last read and there's a button that takes you their, it has tons of manga and not that much ads surprisingly, it has a nice layout. However the only thing I think is a problem is that every few minutes of reading I have to close and reopen the app since the next panel doesn't load in. I'm not sure if it's only for me but if you could fix that that would solve the inconvenience. Great app overall!!!
After losing MangaRock I was very skeptical about using another manga-reading app as too many of them have pesky apps and a lack of manga to read. I found this app incredibly useful! Sometimes when reading pages go black with an "x" but all you have to do is click out of the chapter and re-enter. As for ads I've honestly not experienced any actually popping up and being forced to watch a 20 second video or anything like that. Overall, it's pretty good.
It's the best manga reader app for tablets. However, the ads are so annoying. I was forced to subscribe to premium because the ads keep on appearing everytime you close a chapter. They also appear every other page. Nonetheless, it has all the manga I want unlike other apps that are incomplete and hard to maneuver.
Purchased premium on the previous version of this app, but the new version is asking me to purchase it again. There is no option to restore premium in any way. Will edit this review if this does get resolved. However, currently this is a pretty deceptive practice. Edit: the premium did get refunded. Now the problem seems to be that nothing is loading properly. Edit2: the author of the app is super responsive to feedback and is working on a fix. Great experience.
They have lots of manga readily to read, and it's easy to bookmark your favorites. However, some of the manga chapters are blurry and can only be read by changing it to HD and the options bar doesn't show up when you want it to, it'll pop up suddenly then disappear making it extremely difficult and frustrating when trying to fix it.
Its promising but it lack a lot of content. Lemme have the choice to choose the source and the manga they have available. UI also has a lot of potential but needs to have a better layout and make it more user friendly. To me, this feels like it's on a beta stage. The core is there but some 'game-changing' features are missing. But as many others, I'm trying to find an alternative to MR and out of the lot this has the less amount of intrusive ads and the most potential to be something great.
Loving it so far! I love that in the search you can chose multiple genres, I've found all that I've searched, I noticed they get updated accurately so it's perfect for me! The only problem I had was when looking for a manga by the author's name, it was not possible. But appart from that, all great.
