Mango Languages

This is a great app to get you use to speaking and creating sentences. It works on your active language learning. They give you the vocabulary slowly then have you combine it. It's obviously the most effective if you repeat everything out loud. For me passive language learning is easier and I end up understanding a lot but barely able to speak. If that sounds like you this is probably a good app. Check and see if your local library has it available.

I used this app for a while and really enjoyed it. However two things have happened - I opened it up one day and all of my progress was gone. I had to start over and even connect to my library again. The second issue i have is all of a sudden I don't have access to hardly any content anymore where before I had full access. I tried inputting through my library and it won't work. What is available for free now is useless for learning.

doing French and i love it! learning so much, love the new update with Reading/listening quizzes. hope they keep adding levels for more conversations to learn! highly recommend! Love the updates! Still using in 2022 and I think it's so great there is useful language to help have conversations! I also have Rosetta stone but I don't like how they don't explain a lot of why your using things, here they do so I understand and can use in multiple ways and it helps me remember! So I like this better

Love the app. I've used multiple apps for language learning that had too many flaws. This app moves at your pace and breaks things down in a way that is easy to grasp. Update: still love it. I haven't been contestant, but retention is still good.

Pretty well designed app. Makes me wanna go back and open the app and practice more. UI is very minimal and that's very helpful. Also I like how you can make all these new words pronounced individually and compare your own speech with the person's - seems like made by someone who struggled useing other languages apps and decided to come up with their own

Best parts: -self directed (choose your own topic, repeat units when you want) -great for inflected languages (no fussing over word order) -auto-play/hands-free option -units can be downloaded, so you can practice anywhere (no need for connectivity) -audio models are provided, so you can compare your pronunciation to native speakers I like Mango Languages very much. I don't like subscription models, but my public library covers the cost (and the quality is worth it, honestly).

A broad range of languages to choose from! Lots of repetition to drum the information in (on a good way though). New words and phrases are given emphasis on pronunciation (spoken slowly and clearly) The autoplay feature is an additional convenience.

Easy to use and progresses with grammar and different tenses as you build your vocab. And the flashcards remember what you missed and periodically refreshing vocab from the past. I use it everyday. Plus entirely free thanks to my library! Woo!

Forget Duolingo, get a library card, and get this app. This has been the best language learning app that I have used. Ive learned more in 1hr on here than the year of Duolingo I completed and time spent in other apps. Also, offers a great selection of languages to choose from

Little to no interactivity. Just a little better than teaching yourself from a book. The main advantage is the excellent pronunciation. The sound and pacing of the speakers are far more natural and clear than Duolingo but there's almost no engagement just pure memorization. Unlike Duolingo & Rosetta Stone that teach you through a kind of interactive quiz game, Mango is kind of like using flash cards. There's nothing to stop you from just flipping through the cards. Right? Wrong? No matter, FLIP! ---Regarding Dev Response: Yes I have used the voice comparison tool (which is nice) and I have Interactive Quiz Slides enabled but haven't seen any difference with it on or off. Not sure what is supposed to be interactive about it when it works the exact same way.

I've dabbled in several language learning apps and this is the best one. It breaks down sentences and shows you how the parts of speech line up. It also shows the literal meaning of what you are saying. PLUS I got free access through my public library card.

Incredible language learning program. I love the feature where it can autoplay, providing hands-free learning, so I learn as I drive. Another thing I love are the color coded words, showing what they translate to in your native language. I constantly recommend this language program to others.

I've tried to learn languages all my life without success. Using this app has changed this and I'm making really good progress. I love the speech comparison feature as it mean I can get the pronunciation spot on. This is by far the best language app I've ever used

This app is incredibly. It gives you lessons and make exercises seem very simple even when they are not. It is spoken the Italian accent which also very adventurous over other apps. Thanks and keep up the great work.

I am been using this app to help me converse with some of my Chinese Co-workers. It's not an easy language but this app does a great job of teaching me. My favorite part is the ability to record myself and compare how I pronounce to that of a native speaker.

I'm trying...I REALLY am... It would be super advantageous to be able to slow native speakers down.. also if a pronunciation in parentheses or phonetic spelling were available I'm always amazed that English is the hardest language in the world to learn yet people are able to do it.. and here I am struggling to say está Ella properlyv

Honestly, for beginners, this has to be one of the best apps out there. I've been trying to learn Romanian for years and have always given up or used poor programs, but Mango has really helped me make progress. My two main issues: 1: Phrases are sometimes outdated and not used by many modern speakers. 2: The application is primarily for complete beginners of a language. Other than that, amazing application, keep up the great work.

10/10!! :] my fav language app rn. i love the feature that allows u to use it for free through ur library. access to educational resources are vitally important to people worldwide, and this feature makes it much easier. the layout is easy to look at and use. the lessons themselves are a good size, and i like being able to review previous lessons contents. my only suggestion would be to have more speaking + listening sections as they can be the hardest parts of learning a new language.

Great app, would give more stars if they gave phonetic translation alongside local language characters. It's hard to hear the exact pronunciation and I don't read Malayalam text. Edit: thanks for the reply, perhaps a tiny in-app tip might be helpful for noobs like me! Otherwise, the app appears to be very clean and well organised with an excellent selection of languages (it's so hard to find Malayalam lessons, especially ones I can access for free thanks to my library)

Loving the repetition and explanation in the Korean. While duolingo has a great deal of explanation you tend to rely on user input for context information whereas this app is very detailed.

So far, so good. I am enjoying the opportunity to learn Spanish. The app is quite easy to follow. I am learning to make basic statements and sentences. I have not been taught Spanish in a formal way, but by using the Mango Languages app, I am getting somewhere.

Unfortunately, don't have money to spend right now, but this is a pretty good app, especially compared to the other ones out there. However I am disappointed in the lack of payment times. I think it'd be cool if you added 6 month or yearly. I think it's pretty good.

An easy way to learn Spanish. The lessons include multiple times to practice each phrase, making it easier to remember them.

Easy to follow along to. Easy system of learning. Great explanation of the more difficult sections. Really glad it was offered through Lyft. Really great perk! Love the Mango app 😊
