Almost every time I launch the app on the same phone, I have to log in and it indicates that I'm using a new device. I get a "one time" code in a text message, an email indicating that it looks like I'm using a new device, and another email to tell me that a one time code was sent by text. And it can't be syncing everything from Garmin, because most weeks it indicates insufficient activity while Garmin connect tells me I have too much high intensity activity.
After the last update the app is not working. When I just try to log in the app shuts down. A lot of people have the same issue not being able to open the app anymore. 1-800 number has long waiting times and you would get generic response like uninstall app and install again - yes, did that many times. Still doesn't work. Why just not fix the issue Manulife!
Not sure why I can't update my previous review, but the issue of me losing my gift card was resolved with time. Just took a day or two before it showed up under my rewards. Overall, seems to work albeit QOL could definitely be improved as some of the other reviews state.
Horrible App that forgets your information and suddenly unlinks from your activities apps like Strava. Using SSO via Google fails when linking activities Apps. Does not retroactively grant you points from your previous activities. Update: April 11 2022. The app is fine as long as it works. It no longer records and points from Strava. Getting a hold of someone at Manulife to address this is a mentally exhausting feat. I've been on hold for over 3 hours and when it was answered my call dropped.
No longer receives information from Strava regardless of free vs subscription version. MV says it has completed syncing but no activities appear. I've reinstalled etc multiple times. MV runs on the background but uploads nothing anymore.
Extremely non-user friendly. For example, I have to reselect the option the login using my fingerprint everytime I use the app, it never actually sticks. More frustratingly, the app said I earned a $10 reward for achieving gold status, but when I go to claim it, it's not available. I absolutely hate this app and do not recommend it.
Great rewards program, however there are consistent issues with the app programming. Shorting points, and resetting your fingerprint login are the top among them.
Have to log in again every time. I also find the targets too easy to hit and there's no rewards for going beyond them (20000 steps + working out is the same as 15000 steps and not working out).
Amazing program, the app can be slow to load, but you can't beat the rewards. Love the focus on my health, this program motivates me to care for my health, and reach my step/activity targets
The app is broken in so many ways. Fingerprint never works and have to type all my credentials each time, freezes up each time I open it, forgets my new acquired gift card, clicking to get assess to your spin award doesn't do anything. Today, when I login in, it doesn't even go to my vitality account but just to my regular Manulife account. Feels like Manulife gave just gave up on the whole thing. Manulife, I dont want your boilerplate response to my review. Just fix the app.
I have to launch the app 3 or more times before it will load correctly and allow me to login. Then EVERY DAY I need to relink my google fit within this app for it to see my activity. Very frustrating experience, is it worth the chance for a $5-$10 gift card every week?...
Needs to link to Samsung Health. It will sync to Strava but that app only pulls calories burned from Samsung and Vitality looks at steps and time active. I like the idea of earning rewards for a healthy lifestyle but since I have a Samsung Galaxy Watch this app is useless and pointless for me.
Using S20FE, app never worked. Reinstalled/uninstalled multiple times, waited for updates multiple times still this app never worked. Whats the point of having this app even 🤦 the most useless app of all time.
I love that a company in charge of your health benefits is giving insentive to work towards a healthier lifestyle. I have been on a weight loss journey this year and this extra app to gain rewards from my successes is exciting! Good call Manulife!
They "updated" the UI and now a technical error occurs everytime I try to launch How did this app become so user unfriendly over a year. Every single review mentions needing to call a 1-800 number to fix. Tried recommended steps and still won't let me log in. Very disappointing as I was recommending Manulife as a provider to all my friends, mainly because of the benefits of this app.
Almost 99% of time connection error or unknown error when login. Very frustrated to use.
I had the same bad experience as previous user, fingerprint setting not being offered as you open the app and the gift cards dissappear, been taking screen shots of each one as I get them, just in case
Doesn't remember my login and now the app takes me to the general manulife login page and won't direct me to the vitality page... Have tried to reinstall and its the same
Terrible. I haven't been able to use this app for quite some time. I have uninstalled, reinstalled, tried different devices. Nothing works. I called Manulife about this and so far no response as to what the cause might be. Don't waste your time
The app itself can be glitchy, but the rewards for the exercise I already do is definitely worth it.
** EDIT: installed the Sept 24 update and now the app won't even open. Restarted, uninstalled, reinstalled. Very frustrated that every update seems to be making things worse, not better. ** Still a lot of glitches, but overall a solid app. I've called in to report my concerns, but an online option to submit issues would be nice since I don't always have time to make a call.
Using a Samsung A8. The app doesn't work for me. I can't login. Every time it tells me to contact support, and I contacted support three times already and NOTHING! I tried everything on my side, clear the cache and data, uninstall and install again, un-sync the devices and login, and NOTHING. Hard to rate an app that doesn't work. Would've given 0 stars if possible. It's been months since it doesn't work, is there someone working on the issues?
I wish there were more integrations and more automatic data collection. A lot is manual. I would hope it will come in the next releases. and the assessments are far from perfect. I eat a mostly vegetarian diet, so i answered i eat lean meat 1 a week, when i usually have fish. The app is assuming i eat fat and red meats most of the time. so, these things need to be corrected for it to make actual sense.
It's not clear what the thresholds are to get points. The app also crashes when trying to complete the health attestations. Transparency would be helpful in using the app to meet the heart rate and step targets. I have it linked to my Garmin watch and it doesn't seem to sync properly. Also can't complete the vitality health review. My previous measures won't load and the app crashes.
I've had to change my review - since I had to register for the signin ID, the app never ever works. I open the app and it just says Connection Error over and over again. I've already had to uninstall and reinstall 3 times in as many weeks and on the last install, it seemed to lose my progress. Extremely frustrating!
