I am from Slovenia. Good software. I installed it because of Android Auto support. I like the toll option which is a must. Unfortunately app. can not find the way back if you have mistakenly turned to the toll road. Please improve it because it is very important. Traffic speed limitations do not work. Less than 40 % correct. Would be better to cancel it until you achieve at least 90 %. Please put driving options on the Android Auto starting page. To choose it before driving. Continue good work.
Having lost the best walker's GPS, ViewRanger, to a commercial take over, I've been trying to find a replacement. I've tried 8 or so apps. and If you can manage without OS maps this is the one to go for. Easy to plot and save routes, easy to find what you have saved. All the maps are downloadable for offline use and are free. It's surprising good as an incar satnav too.
I had to edit my review. The walking route was OK and I followed it offline via GPS, I suppose, but the huge problem was that the arrow got frozen all the time and I kept getting lost because of it. Finally, I switched back to Google Maps and got back home. Please, fix the issue with " the heavy arrow" that gets frozen and got stuck. Plus, there are pauses while navigation when you have already arrived but Mapy is still being in the process of finding a route. Hope I have been helpful.
This is a superb app to use whether you walk, cycle or drive. It is exceptionally accurate and is useful for storing short trips or longer adventures. It is also an excellent tool for planning a journey. Hill walkers and off-road cyclists will find this a perfect mapping app for all their exploration. I highly recommend it.
This app is awesome! The map (OSM) is very detailed, most hiking and biking routes are clearly visible. Usability is fine, I enjoy the small zoom slider on the right side. It is possible to download certain areas for offline use, but I've not tested this so far.
This has taken us across two considerable European bike tours.. It's easy to use, very accurate and flexible without being complicated. Just what you need on a bike. Far superior to Google Maps for this purpose. Keep up the great work Mapy/Windy. Happy to give you detailed feedback if you drop me an email
I like this app out of all the map apps. You can put as many waypoints in to a route as you want. Estimates of elevation ascent and descent are over the top but that's not a real problem. I export the route to gpx and open it with Garmin Connect and it corrects the elevation gains and losses. But overall a great app.
Good and it's free! I will give 5 stars if have all the gravel bike trails, bike lanes, and more options of how to custom bike routes such as easy ride and avoid busy traffic roads. Plus need to have more options of choosing different types of bicycle such as gravel, city, etc. Please add this features in future updates thank you! Kudos to the developers, you are awesome! Thank you!👍🏼
I gave this app 4 stars because the direction bar at the top needs better contrast and slightly bigger font. What I like is this app is exact. When is it says your there you are at the front door. I use this app for pizza delivery. What would be great is a method that would allow the user to go the shortest way, the fastest way, no highway from 6am to 9 am and 3 pm to 6 pm. Then a scenic route.
Love this app for its offline hiking maps. But the developers must improve the map update process. My maps were up to date Thursday. Friday I hit the road, and all my maps suddenly need updating. Worse, all offline maps simply stopped functioning at that point. Spent an offline weekend without mapy until I got back to where I could download hundreds and thousands of megs of update. Please make the current offline maps still function until they are updated, at least for a grace period month or so
This is my favourite, heavy duty map and has been for years. As a cyclist I find it particularly helpful, not only because it covers "minor" countries like the Czech Republic, where i happen to live and find myself neglected by the world's leading competitor. Keep on the great work, guys! I will keep on recommending mapy.cz to all my clients renting bikes to explore central Europe.
Use it for driving in CZ and Germany. Works fine. Traffic just in CZ, could be cool to have that in other countries as well. Off-road great as well for hiking. Works offline, nice voices. Prefer it over google.
Recently downloaded ths app as a replacement for Viewranger. The maps look very good and can be stored on sd card to be used offline essential for hill and mountain walking. After many atempts I have been unable to register an account which I presumeunlocks more features.
Great app. Fast, based on openmaps, hence very accurate, builds offline walking routes that is not available in the competing products. They've also developed decent turn by turn navi when driving with speed limits, available on Android Auto too. Way to go guys, thanks
Nice app, but Windy Maps was trully international, no texts in czech language when using english. Something in czech language was shown on the screen with the information that now I can choose alternative(shorter) routes on the navigation screen. Also the sign up page is quite unintuitive.
It is better for walking/hiking on feet than Google Maps. There are more details shown, but less information about particular places than in Google Maps . . . - Due to higher crowdsourcing and a larger user base in general, of course.
could give it 10 if I could. freaking amazing. doing the corfu trail right now and 98% of the small paths are visible here. loving every second of it. works offline also. I used a few apps before, but now I can stop searching
Offline route planning speed is quite slow, biggest culprit for this amazing app. It does affect usage though hence three star, otherwise it is a five-star app for sure. Fix it please🙏
I love this app, I used it all over Europe. The only really annoying thing is it's incredibly unresponsive to trying to turn the map around.
The app would be good if it was not begging all the time to download more offline maps, nobody thought to put a switch "stop forever begging for more offline maps"? And the app could tell before the offline maps are outdated. Because when you are without internet and the application tell you it can't start the offline map because the one you need is outdated, you are not very happy ;-)
