The tutorial is a bit of a turn off, but once I got the hang of the controls, it started being fun. Losing was quite frustrating ("very easy" wasn't all that easy) but that also makes the victories more meaningful. The theme and tension definitely can be felt.
An amazing fast-paced, strategy game, with some luck involved. No ads every 30 seconds either. At first I was put off by the inadequate tutorial but it's easy to learn by yourself. I wold consider buying the full version.
Like everyone else i didn't understand this game at first the rules are really poorly explained. Dont give up on the game because of this....go on youtube and watch a play through and you'll realise its quite simple. Once you understand the rules it becomes a good game but you only get 3 mission cards in the free game which quickly becomes boaring. You can unlock all mission cards for £1.05 and this makes for a really good game.
This is a fantastic adaption of the print and play board game. It helps to have played the physical game to understand the mechanics, but one you do the app is faster and more convenient to play. Five stars all round. I can't wait for Jake's next adaption.
Really great app and amazing free version. This game isn't going to hold your hand, the tutorial is short and clear but still leafs you room to figure out how the game works on your own. If you do not like this don't buy the full version I personally love it!
No idea how to play it. Tutorial is crudely translated into English and makes no sense. I play a lot of board games, this game makes no sense. The purpose of this game isn't to figure out how to play it in the first place, which ruins it. Nice interface, horrendous repetitive music. I've given 3* because it's impossible to rate, but people need to k ow its also impossible to play.
I'd suggest watching a playthrough online in addition to the tutorial, but I don't consider that a flaw. Props to Boardnaut for offering a free version without obnoxious ads or overly restricted gameplay! I'll definitely be purchasing once I've completed the free missions.
Horrible game. The game is so confusing and the tutorial does not do a good iob on teaching you. Also, it seems the game is completely luck-based which is bad. The game keeps putting red before the mission and blue on the radio. Also the music is so bad it gave me a headache and almost made me throw up. By the way, all of my attempts were on 'very easy'. The devs should be in prison.
A very excellent implementation of the Maquis board game. I only wish the game would tell you *HOW* you lost. There's a few ways to lose and you can't go back and check the game-state after its over.
I like the game, the way its implemented in the app, but frustrated that morale drops by 1 every turn, not just on the orange turns, even at the very easy level. Not sure i want to buy the full game if the full game is the same. What am I missing?
A fun game but a few important details are still left out of the Tutorial. For instance, knowing that you have to place a Partisan at the game Objectives in order to complete.
Having played awhile now I can quite certainly say there no bugs 👍✌️. Pretty steep learning curve though. 5!! Levels of difficulty Many years sence the release and the dev is still responseive.Exllent overall game and challengeing.
This is neat, but it won't really teach you how to play the game; it's more for folks who own the physical game and want to take it on the go. As some others have said, it would be nice to have a "confirm" button for some choices, so that a game doesn't get spoiled by an inadvertent douple-tap.
Excellent game, simple rules, simple mechanisms but very very rich game play. The app is well implemented with good graphics, intuitive controls and easy ways to see information.
Nice idea and nice execution, but it's sad that it's an actual singleplayer game, even irl. I really thought I was playing against an AI until I looked for it on boardgamegeek. You can innovate tho, like making it a player-against-AI game or local multiplayer game. The opposition would deliberately discard the cards of choice, in order to prevent the player from accomplishing their missions on time. That would be really great for a game like this.
I watched the in game and youtube tutorials. I can place workers, but cannot take any actions. Download was to my LG phone. I know this is a great game, so I don't want to rate it based on a glitch, which may be on my end. I have to rate the game to post this. Way to go google. I gave them a 5 even though I cannot play the game.
Overall great. Hard to get everything on the screen so I hope that can improve soon. Otherwise great experience.
The implementation is good, but the game itself is a luck-fest... It doesn't matter what actions you take; one bad-luck draw can make you lose instantly.
Absolutely love this game. One of the few games that i would consider to buy the full game. Game runs smooth and no annoying ads that pop up every 10 seconds.
Can't find how to not send agent. When fields and cafe are filled up and policemen are guarding both entrances to the city, last agent has no choice but to go surrender! Why can't he stay home for today? Or go pair up with somebody? | Otherwise seems interesting
Agreed, the tutorial isn't clear, BUT the game and the app are GREAT FUN once you know how to play and how the controls work! Just got the KS physical copy of the game. Download the boardgame rulebook or watch a tutorial on how to play the boardgame. Then play this app!
The game is adapted from a boardgame and the original is extremely difficult. There is a Youtube video by an exprienced player introducing the game, and he got trounced. It is not playable in the current form now, unless you are a masochist.
Tutorial isn't great, I recommend watching some videos instead, but once you know how to play, this is a great way to do it. I hope the 2e content comes to this app!
nice concept, but tutorial is not helpful in explaining gameplay. Followed online instructions but has units appear where cards indicate they will not be able to.
I would like to give this 5 stars, as it is an accurate rendition of the board game, however the tutorial is poorly written and buggy.
Fun and original, but the instructions and tutorial are unclear so be prepared to learn through trial and error.
I really wanted to like this game.It really plays like a good board game.lots of pieces that lead to important decisions, or not as no decisions are good ones.Over 30 games in on very easy and only one win!In essence not winable.
Fun game, i have the board game but having this on the go is great. There is one huge thing, and one minor thing that can be improved on. Major: replay scenarios. This is only important when you randomize both missions. Would love to try to tackle a randomly generated event again instrad of getting 2 new sets or finding the 2 missions. Minor: when buying a new room, a confirm button. So many time have i needed to rrstart a game because i accidentally selected the propagandist.
