Marantz Remote App

You can only configure 8 buttons, while my phone has plenty of screen-estate that is unused. When starting the app, you always have to press back to start using it, makes no sense and confuses me all the time. Looks as if the app was made last century. Android reports the app remains running in the background even when not doing anything.

Apparently only works if you have your unit in the 192.168.1.x address space. If you try to enter another address, tells you invalid address. The search function will not find anything. You also end up with a spinning circle and a mysterious app search running with a notification, named title. When you click on it nothing happens.

Marantz has some of the best equipment I have owned two of their receivers and absolutely love them. However this mobile app as well as Heroes I did not get to work at all. I consider myself a tech savvy person as well. Again love the Marantz receivers but disappointed in the mobile apps and software are useless to me. Guess you can't get everything good in one package.

The layout and functionality is great. The problem is that it's very unstable and I have to restart all the time, which makes it very frustrating to use. If they could solve this, the app would be a winner imo. (with Samsung S9 US, Android up date)

Half the time it days it's not compatible with my device. The other half it seems to work. Can't access internet radio stations though. Keep being redirected to vtuner whatever that is. All I want to do is edit a list of URLs.. is that really too much to ask Guess my hi-fi is now just a light up doorstop.

Only an "OK" app. - doesn't deserve 1 stars though. Ppl are being dramatic, giving this one star. No it's not great, but you can remotely control many features of the audio device. I use it on a Marantz CR-611. It's fine without being great. Yes, it COULD be much better (and probably should be for the cost of these devices), but it does allow you to control many of the features remotely.

Having struggled on and off with this app over the years, I decided to give it one more try and re-installed it on my Samsung A40 phone a few days ago. To my amazement, it started working perfectly with my M-CR610 system. I now love this app and can wholeheartedly recommend it to all M-CR610 owners. Its adds a new dimension to the experience!

Drains battery on samsung s10. Over night, my phone said the app used 53 percent of battery. That was even after selecting "restricting background use" it didn't do this on my moto z3. The app won't work in split screen. The app has to be restarted every time and is slow to open. Not a very intuitive UI. Besides those complaints, it does work. However, due to battery drain issue, I had to uninstall.

Absolutely perfect! Thanks MARANTZ as my SR-7009 works like a treat with the app on a Samsung tablet .More than happy and satisfied and i do not understand really why other users are complaining for. My impression is that they are doing obviously something wrong on settings as Network control and Internet radio is also super having the abbility to add stations from VTUNER page as well. 100% control,No bugs whatsoever and my remote control lives in the cupboard. Keep the good work guys!

Wanted this to select newer audio channels w/ higher than CD quality streams. Can't edit or add station/stream URLs or web resources. No updates. Must close app or drains phone battery (no sleep mode). I made engineering trade study. Upgrading Bluetooth for external feed from phone and using host site app (not 3rd party intermediaries like Google/Vtuner/Amazon...etc) along with home stereo DAC far superior cost/result.

How many management apps and devices must I use to get adequate control of my AV7706? It seems as though none of the options available to me from Marantz are a one stop solution. I have to use the AVR 2016 app to configure some of the capabilities, then web into my AV7706 to configure other capabilities. The use the Audyssey multeq app($19.00) for "enhanced" tuning. My Sony TV isn't compatible with the onscreen menu and I can rarely get it to pull up when using arc. I expect better for $2600.00

I had to download another app because I don't have an iphone. If a free app like Hifi Cast can play music on my phone via WiFi through the Marantz, the Marantz app should be able to. Senseless. It also FINDS music on my computer on the same network, but doesn't seem to play it. To that end, completely useless so far.

A few suggestions, the volume bar is to low and wide, your phone thinks your trying to swipe to next screen rather than control the volume. Either move it up and make it slightly narrowed, or better still configure it to use phones physical volume buttons as well. Otherwise works as expected.

The worst app I have ever used. Expect more from a high end manufacturer. Rarely connects to my SR6008 and when it does it just wants me to chose something to play from the media server and skips all the other choices such as inputs and volume.

WARNING - DO NOT DOWNLOAD THIS APP! This app was unable to find the receiver. This should have worked as the Audyssey app was able to connect. 3 hours after installing the phone battery had been drained from 85% to 23%. Truly unbelievable and unacceptable performance from an app that should not be posted live. Request sent to Marantz and Google to pull from the play store.

Getting better. I use this all the time with an MCR610 unit. Gradual updates have made the experience more user friendly. The tone and balance controls was a nice addition. Still on my wish list would be the ability to select "Shuffle songs" when controlling the ipod and also to be able to fast forward ipod content (rather than just select next song). Thanks Marantz.

Does not work anymore. Closes down after opening on all the devices it used to work on. Please give us something that works on old and new devices alike. We can't all afford to update all our devices every time a new one comes out!

Poor app. Hardly ever connects to my Marantz SR5009. I never had this issue with my last Onkyo receiver. I paid a premium price for Marantz but the app integration is letting it down big time. Not the complete package I had hoped for. Please fix immediately. There are so many owners with the same issue.

Unstable, unreliable, frustrating. Last updates in 2016...so many issues to fix. When it does work it is perfectly adequate, functional in all of the basic areas.

App after some time always stucks at media server mode and I can't change it anymore. I tried to change it manually on my device and to see if it changed on the app but I failed. Then only possibility is to to do a system restart of the device.

What a disgrace of an app. It finds my TV more reliable than my Marantz 8802A. When it does find it, it's incredibly sluggish and very limited in what it can do. The lack of a sleep mode (means it drains battery like crazy) is adding insult to injury.

I have never experienced the problems others have reported. I use this everyday to control my amp and have absolutely no problems. Marantz also continues to keep my older amp updated years after I purchased it. Keep up the the good work. (Also not sure if newer amps have wifi but I wire mine directly to my network)

does not work for sr8002. I lost my remote and wanted to use an app to control my receiver with my tablet. Marantz is not very cutting edge with technology as a whole and execution of newer technologies is lagging. They lack vision and mostly hide behind their reputation and prestige rather than offer anything innovative. The company does not offer replacement remotes so maybe I can find a used one on eBay. Anything more than $250 for a receiver is a waste of money as newer tech becomes accessib

experiencing a lot of crashes. need to start the app allways teo tomes before getting to choose over and over again my preamp. Sluggish and bad performance. I hoped for something better from such a quality company.
