Marine Bells

Bells stopped. Used to love this app as there are few options in Play Store. This app kept me alerted as to time of day in case of becoming too focused on one task, as we all do. I would be pleasantly reminded to "keep moving" each half-hour. Coming from a marine background, I could easily decipher the ring code.

Bells ring properly. Nice. Glad to have your app. And 1) as others have said, the notifications are often wrong. 2) eight bells should end a watch. So, for example, eight bells at noon, is eight bells in the Forenoon Watch (and not eight bell in the Afternoon Watch) . 3) add an option to select the post Nore Mutiny sequence for the "Last Dog Watch."

Bells no longer ring. I use this app on my previous phone and the ships Bells worked perfectly. Now, they don't work at all: no test, no hourly, nothing. As a mariner, I would use this app while on watch so as to not disturb the rest of the crew. The functionality of this app is sorely missed.

I like the bell. It sounds good. But what is with the vibrate? Vibrate is for a notification that is of extreme importance, such as the "dam has burst and your gonna drown!", not some silly background ding-dinging signalling the time of day. Less than 24-hours I've had this app and already I'm ready to delete it!

This would be a much better app if there were a couple of tweaks/fixes. First it would be nice if the Dog Watch were broken into two...First and Last Dog Watch. Semantics, really. But it would be neat that way. Second, the 1st bell of each watch always shows the wrong Watch name. My 1st bell of the Forenoon Watch was called 1st Bell on the Morning Watch and this seems to happen with each 1st bell. I also had trouble getting the bells to actually ring. Not sure if it was my ring volume or app volume or what. But somehow, I got them to ring.

Doesn't work at all. Being retired Navy, I miss the ships bells. I get nothing at all from this app. No sounds, no test bells, nothing. Very promising, if it would work. It LOOKS awesome, but for me, it simply doesn't work on my phone.

love this bells even though it doesn't always seem to chime at the bottom and top of each hour. problem with new s10 update though, it just makes the notification sound instead of bells. and rings only once no matter the time

One star is generous because This app doesn't work. It does not even load with any Bell sounds. All you get is your default notification sound. Improve your app and include a Ships Bell that is activated by default untill then it is useless.

Doesn't ring bells, just sends a notification with your normal ringtone. You can change this to a bell if you want, but it's unwieldy. With a ships bell app, you want to hear a BELL. Bells are sounds.

I love this app, but am unable to understand why it won't chime at the top or bottom of the hour; the plus or minus of up to 4 minutes defeats the objective of keeping time. Needs tweaking.

86-ed it on maiden voyage bc it cannot operate as an exception to Do Not Disturb. Additionally, it uses your phones default notification tone instead of a ship's bell.

Instead of ringing bells I get a standard notification sound and a small text pop-up. I'm not the only one who complains that this app doesn't work.

keeps time worse than my microwave. bells can be up to 25 minutes late. love the concept. Bell sound is a bit iffy. overall I suspect the problem may be my tablet not the app

Lovely to hear the bells. It does miss the odd time or does the chimes a few mins late, but this isn't really about accuracy is it, it's about memories and 'doing things right'

It only rang one cycle and stopped. I expect apps to work. I have a similar app that doesn't work either.

This app worked flawlessly on my Samsung Galaxy Note 3 (real bells), but on my Galaxy Fold, I only hear the standard notification. I miss the real bells! Would welcome a fix. Thanks.

Runs late gets slower by 1 minute every day. If my relief had used this I would have killed for being late. Prior to giving poor feedback I emailed developer but they did not respond. tried it on S7 Edge

10 minutes and I am out. Came up at 1930. It didn't ring a chime. It sent 7 alert notifications. Nothing like the bells I was expecting.

Uninstalled it because it insisted on vibrating along with the bells. I didn't serve on ships that did that, though quite a few vibrated all the time. Can the choice be added to inhibit vibrate?

the bells do creep forward on time. this app has changed how I get things done. very powerful. I am getting more things done each watch.

Up until today a great app. It rang bells. Now it uses my notification sound. Unacceptable. Still not working.

This app couldn't even tell time with an hour glass. It sounds anywhere from 1 to 4 minutes either side of the actual time.

Always rings for the time but usually late, 0 to 12 min . Notification display shows actual time of ring (late) Phone is Samsung running Android 6.0.1

good simple app but the time keeping somehow not very accurate. it rings about every half-hour not on top of every half-hour

Ok app, but would be better if user could choose which audio stream was used to allow use with phone silencer apps.

Was fine on my old phone, but doesn't seem to work on Android 10.

as an ex sailor, this reminds me of many great years in the Navy. thank you developer.

loved it until Samsung did updates. now it doesn't sound at all.
