Marvin - ZX Spectrum Emulator

So useful emulator. I have Galaxy s6 Edge and have no idea why people complain. Just single tap anywhere on screen and menu will appear. And you can use your android keyboard instead of on-screen one. But so annoying thing is that you cant use on screen keyboard in landscape like its in Unreal Speccy.

I grew up in Europe, and the 48K Sinclair Spectrum was my first machine. Needless to say this was one of the first apps I installed on my android phone. I was worried about performance, but for the most part controlling the hands is doable and fun. I mostly play Formula One, and I can get around those controls using the on screen keyboard. Good stuff.

Worked fine until update now menu comes on and immediately flips down off making it close to impossable to use except in landscape mode you can just manage to load a game. (galaxy s6) Shame as I liked it a lot

I used to use this emulator before I got an S7. On the S7, you get a message saying "Split screen not supported" when trying to access the menu. It emulates really well, but now unusable on newer phones. Please get an updated version or a workaround.

Very good emulator, especially with the poke database integration. Please can you add: A "Quit Emulator" button in the menu An option to set a default path for Games / Save States Filters like hq2x and hq3x to smooth the graphics a bit. Thanks

A ridiculous amount of zx spectrum games available at your fingertips. Fantastic compatibility with SD card too! Still the best way to recreate my childhood via android....until someone creates a time travel app

Can't seem to get to the menu options to load games on a Samsung s7. Shame as this app is brilliant on my older phones.

Almost perfect. Only problem is that it always reverts to Cursor Joystick. I use an external keyboard that works best with Kempston curesor setting, but the app always reverts to Cursor Joystick.

I've rage quit games but I never rage uninstalled an app before. The maker of this piece of garbage should first have a look at what makes apps successful. It starts with a workable user interface. Selecting a program requires you to go through your directories every single time. On a 5 inch screen it is almost impossible to select the right title as the font is extremely small and when you choose the wrong title, you need to go through the whole torturous journey from the Marvin home directory to your SD card again. I'm left handed which adds a fun handicap factor to the lottery. Have a look at Mame4droid or SNES9X if you want a clue on how to make a workable emulator.

Picky some people, considering the cost (mmmm). No flash graphics required. Just honest game play with practice required. Cool.

So far so good. Everything I tested worked. I tested with a Bluetooth keyboard and response times are good enough for me to play games on it. I plan to test with a Bluetooth gamepad

Superb Speccy emulator! Browsing the WorldOfSpectrumarchive & downloading games directly cuts out the lengthy download & transfer process I have seen with other similar programs. This is a real nostalgia trip and I can't believe how many game names are tripping of my tongue from 30 years ago. Also surprised myself by how many teleport codes from Starquake I remembered. Weirdly some developers like Elite and Ultimate Play The Game titles are conspicuous by their absence (copyright issue?) but can be found

the menu button doesn't work on my S6 Edge install. Pressing the menu button causes the menu to appear then instantly disappear making the app more or less useless. 4 or 5 stars if this problem is fixed.

I have a lenovo tablet. I have used this app on other phones and I KNOW it worked perfectly. But on this tablet, the joystick doesn't work, only in 1 direction, and the wrong one at that. Gah. So frustrated!

Download this to my Blaze Tab but when i configure the joystick controls they dont work :-( any help with this would very much appreciated

I love the emulator. Only problem is that i can now only play manic miner. Don't get me wrong. One of my all time favorite games. After loading it up i can longer can access the menu.

Shame, looks good. But cant access menu on S6. So its useless.

But unable to move keypad from top left in landscape mode...sorta weird, considering most people are right-handed, thus blocking the screen whilst hitting the desired button. Mediocre...

Unfortunately I cant seem to find the menu option to be able to load the games I have. I'm running Marshmallow on am S7 Edge.

Is there anyway to change position of joystick to right hand side. As right handed and it is awkward playing on the left hand side.

Would love to actually play with this. However, the menu instantly disappears when I bring it up so I cannot actually do anything. I loaded it onto my tablet and it's really fantastic you can even play your own games

Keep accidentally clicking the phones back button and leaving the app mid game.

Used to work on my s5 but menu doesn't show up at all on my s7 edge.

Unfortunate. I loved the fact it was layed out well in landscape mode but i found most games from WOS with speedlocks/hyperloading failed to load. They worked fine on other emulators. Maybe clock speed is off on the S8+?

Love the App. Great to go back and visit Exploding Fist etc! Lots of my favourites are not available by copyright etc, But sill great fun! :)

Only a four star rating because you have to keep uninstalling this app and then reinstalling to get the games menu back again once you have closed the Marvin Spectrum emulation app down when you reopen the Marvin Spectrum emulation app it is stuck on the previous game you was playing and won't let you open the games menu to allow you to play a different game it says above that they fixed a bug that prevents you from opening the games menu's up on somd devices but that bug is still giving problems.

Unfortunately as mentioned already, this app isn't updated and still does not work on the S6 Edge... The menu plays peekaboo and never stays in view! Really annoying!

Can't open menu at all on Galaxy S6, still waiting months later for a fix, please sort this, used to be the best emulator!
