From a frequent BAT bus rider: Big drawback is the duration the consumer has to use their one-way ticket. The time between being picked up a bus stop, the ride and the wait to transfer to another bus to reach your destination often exceeds a half hour. Not to mention the fact that one of the routes that goes to a busy medical building seems to run half the times as other routes. I am often arguing about getting a transfer slip from the bus driver after presenting the app on my phone or paying twice to get across the city. Besides that the app is sluggish. Do not let your phone go to sleep while waiting for the bus. It will take a while to get going again.
I must use this because I don't usually have access to cash/change. However, it can be extremely scary. I'm 16 years old and have almost gotten stranded in Springfield by my last bus home because the app won't load my pass. Once I got lucky because my driver allowed me to ride the bus while I waited for my pass to load. It gives me error messages which I just have to constantly fight through to get to the pass. Also, to the reply, this has happened more than once over the course of months.
Works ok but have problem,reset my phone,logged into app,had 6 unused tickets now unavailable, contact customer service, we'll there all closed,no one to help fix and reset problem, resetting ones phone should not cancel tickets,this sucks,cause there is no customer service anymore,not sure what to do? You guys need to prevent issues like this,not create it.
Functions, though just barely. When I first installed about a year ago it worked great; lately crashes and freezes constantly. Does not handle being minimized or going through a screensaver, or starting up without sometimes a whole minute passing in between.
Worked fine updates ago before adding 128 and BAT, now it lags horribly in all circumstances and crashes and delays you getting on the bus. This is nonsense as I'm telling the app to store tickets locally, and then it goes ahead and checks the cloud and lags and crashes anyway. it's been like this for months and some drivers acknowledge it but...nobody seems to care?
Its crashes, it freezes, i can never get it to work im constantly having to show the bus driver that i do in fact have the pass, it just crashes when i try to display it. Fix this.. Its costing money and time - i almost got kicked off a bus and didnt make it to work because of this.
I continously get data error when using this app and can't access my bus pass. There is nothing wrong with my phone, I have internet, the pass is good for several months. The only problem is this app doesn't want to load the ticket. I'm afraid that one of these days the bus driver is just going to leave me at a stop and I'll have no way home. Not worth it compared to a paper ticket, even during COVID I would rather take my chances with COVID rather than get stuck somewhere with no way home.
Slow. When I moved to a new phone lost some tickets. Supposedly they were transfered by help desk (there is no automatic process) the old replaced tickets I had bought that morning. One of the worst apps I use.
To me I think it's kinda stupid, I mean showing the bus pass by tapping 2 times on your smartphone and it's almost an error. I wish PVTA would have new technology like the one in Chicago IL. I'll stick to the regular old bus pass.
This app used to work fine. Now it freezes whenever you try and pull up an active ticket to use. Have had to pay double because I couldn't pull up an active ticket. An update might be nice.
The application is great The only problem. It is that if the data fails you, you were overwhelmed and you cannot use the transfer because you do not have data on your cell phone. and also there is no evidence that one bought the transfer in the application if the application does not work
Keeps freezing as of late. I usually don't have a problem with this app but for the past 2 weeks it's been freezing when I display the pass.
Using this for the free bus pass my college provides and twice, it has given me a data error and won't let me use my student bus pass. I'd rather go back to physical bus passes if this app is going to fail me.
GREAT APP. EVERYONE SHOULD HAVE IT. If only they can put your PVTA Identification card digitally on the app. That would make it perfect.
Not very helpful when it won't let you select the regional bus route that you want to use. The pvta was not an option for me. It had me in Middlesex and wouldn't let me change.
I love using this app but i accidently uninstalled it and when i tried to install it again it kept stopping. It wont open. Please help. I dont know what to do.
I have never had an issue with this app. It's very convenient for those of us that use public transportation on a regular basis. You won't have to worry about making change etc.
Seriously...every time I use this app, I get "data error" and I can't use my bus pass. Please fix this! Otherwise, what is the point of using it?
My local service Told me about this app, however even though the website to my bus company says it's accepted come up the app does not provide my service in the drop down menu
The app was fine until the most recent update and slowed it down SO BADLY.
slow as hell doesnt work 50% of the time have to restart app EVERYSINGLE TIME
I love it but bus passes shouldn't expire after 30 minutes, theirs no bus transfer option

I hate this app more than any other. It would better if it just didn't work cause I would have to find alternatives. It's inconsistant. I use it for the free transportation that my college provides but it a huge stressor for it to get a data error and not load my pass. It happens about 1-3 times a week (1 in every 4 trips) this should be a reliable service but it's anything but that.
