Material Notification Shade

Brings the features from Android Oreo to your notification center and adds a ton of customization on top so you can make your device stand out ✨.

Replacement for your stock notification panel. The app uses gesture detection to provide you with a custom quick settings menu when you swipe down to reveal your notifications.

KEY FEATURES
• Stock themes: Nougat and Oreo based themes.
• Full color customization: Take the base layout and color all the elements to your taste.
• Powerful notifications: Get it, read it, snooze or dismiss.
• Quick reply: Reply to your messages as soon as you see them. For all Android 5.0+ devices.
• Auto bundled: Tired of that one app that spams you notifications? Now they're all grouped together, for easy control.

• Notification card themes: Android 8.0 Oreo inspired.
- Light: your ordinary notifications
- Colored: uses the notification's color as the card background. Only applies the background if the color isn't dark for contrast purposes.
- Dark: blend all your notifications with a pure black background (great on AMOLED screens).

• Quick settings panel
- Choose a different color for the background or foreground (icons) of the quick settings panel.
- Change brightness slider color.
- Choose your own profile picture to be displayed in the shade.
- (Pro) Change quick settings grid layout (ie. number of columns and rows).

Root is optional
Since the app doesn't actually change any parts of your system it has limited power in the quick settings area (cannot toggle mobile data, location services, etc so it opens the settings page for you). You can grant it root access though to control these settings.

Good software but it haves intrusive ads, I know there's a subscription but nobody wants to pay a subscription for an app this simple, a one time payment would be much better in my opinion. I would buy it since the app is good. Anyway can't complain about free stuff and as long as it shows ads when I mess with the configuration and not in the notification bar itself, I'm okay with it

Good in that it provided a way to circumvent Android 12's horrible quick settings and shade "improvements," but ultimately the app has to many flaws to justify it's exorbitant price. The stock shade wasn't able to be fully disabled, notifications didn't naturally collapse, and the quick settings buttons were hugely unreliable. I suppose I would have stuck with it as a one-off purchase (though it would have to be pretty cheap to warrant all the fiddling) but it's definitely not worth $9.99/year.

I like how this app functions, it's much better than the Android 12 one, I just have a few problems, the heads-up notifications are a bit buggy they tend to not make any sound, and the pop-up badge keeps turning back on. I would also like for it to be able to completely hid the system shade, it pops up when opening this shade.

Great app, very useful and customizable. However, there is one problem that keeps me from giving it five stars. The brightness slider. You can only ever have it in the header or pull down menu, which is very annoying. I'd like to have it in both so I can adjust it better. Just add a checkable option for brightness in the pulldown menu, like the one for the header. I would also like if it didn't expand notifications by itself every time. Otherwise, it's perfect.

I updated to Pie and hated it (especially the notification bar) so I decided to give this app a try. At first I really liked it, but the bar itself is too sensitive and fully expands with the slightest touch. In addition, I was unable to rearrange my grid (I use my flashlight a lot, so I keep it first in line). Even after shelling out the $2 I was unable to do much else. What a waste.

The app is a great addition to my Android Oreo custom setup, and it is well stabilised, too. The only problem is, some of the notifications don't come up in the Notification bar, even though I can see them in the system shade. Other times, the same notification may come up all right. This leads to the necessity of opening the system shade which should be our last option. Otherwise it's great.

Working great so far. The only issue I have is when I tap the screen around the two upper corners, the notifications slide down. It's rather bothersome in games where I need to tap there. Also, it doesn't appear when the screen is locked, but I'm not sure if it should work and I've just got some restriction on, please fix these things.

Disappointing that it disabled the quick settings at the top from being used without having to go-to the screen in the system. Prior to installing I could tap the airplane, data, or battery to enable or disable. But can't do that with this app. Other than that and the quick settings icons changing, I like it. But this app really shouldn't change the look and functionality of my phone without my consent. 1.99 down the drain.

I'm using MIUI 10 and paid for the premium version so I could change the order of the buttons in the notification bar. Right from the start there was an issue with overlapping text, tried to find a way to fix it in the settings but couldn't. Even then it only worked for a few days or so; now it has disappeared completely! It still has permission to draw over other apps so I don't get it. Would quite like a prompt fix or my money back.

I really like this app, it's a refreshing break from Oppo's coloros notifications and their prominent (ie in your face and unrelenting) system notifications. BUT, the touch sensitivity of this app is over the top and the depth of the status bar is a little much. Anytime i try to click a button at the top of my screen i have to be ridiculously careful (or repeat 5x) to avoid triggering the notification shade. I'm considering uninstalling on this basis alone. Please make it less trigger happy. I am also having some problems with the brightness slider. Sometimes it just seems to stop adjusting the brightness, so i'm stuck with whatever level it's at, regardless of where i move the slider. If these things were fixed it would be phenomenal!

Great so far. I like not being blinded at night by the notification screen and appreciate the darker theme scheme. However even with the setting for it not to be enabled in full screen it still overlays a game (at the top of the screen the menu keeps popping down) and so I have to disable the app during the day and switch it off at night. It would be good if this could be done automatically or the issue fixed. Scheduling the app timing would be great. I like the app and the features, its good.

I have just switched to my first Xiaomi phone, and I am not a fan of the native notification shade in MIUI 11. I did have to play with a number of settings to get Material Shade to work consistently, but once I figured that out, I think it's a huge improvement! • The only reason I give four stars instead of five is that the notification shade starts to drop down any time I touch the very top portion of the screen, even if I don't drag down. This is annoying because sometimes there are functions at the very top portion of the screen (notably, "return to split screen" and "return to call" if you navigate away momentarily while using either of those functions) that become inaccessible -- when I try to click them, the notification shade instead starts to drop down. • The only other thing is that it won't work by default on my lock screen -- I can still interact with the Material Shade while in my lock screen if I drag it down, but the default notifications still appear in the phone's native style. I think this is something that's outside the app's control, and honestly it doesn't bother me at all, but still worth pointing out. • If a future update introduces a "only show notification shade when dragging, not with a simple touch" option, that would solve my issue with it and I'd update to 5 stars.

Almost fantastic. For most people, probably fine (<-migraines). I've always wanted a black drop-down menu + notifications, but it seemed to for some reason make the menu WAY bright, it's unusable for me. But it was all black. If there's some type of update that can allow you to adjust brightness + adjust blue/orange-ness, because I can't tell if it just messed up my phone's blue filter or my blue filter app, I would pay a one time fee or promote for these options! 😁👐

I used to love this on my phone when it ran Nougat, so I was excited to see that it now has Oreo support! However there are 2 dealbreaking issues, those are: 1. the activation area seems to be too large, meaning I cannot hit search bars etc. at the top of the screen without triggering the shade; 2. the shade disables the status bar while it is down causing some weird re-adjustment to happen behind it. Other than that it looks good and it's smooth :)

Great UI, breaks Do Not Disturb! This app looks very nice but silently changes your alarm settings so that Do Not Disturb no longer works properly. The first you know about it is during your next rest/meeting when you get disturbed by an alarm when you're not meant to be. So you go to your DND settings, and you find your phone has got set to Custom exceptions (Alarms only). Change it back to No Exceptions like you had it before. Guess what? You get disturbed again by an alarm during your next rest/meeting! Because it has got set back to Custom exceptions (Alarms only). And that just keeps happening! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH! As a developer myself, I don't like to think what the developer is thinking by including this kind of interference with user preferences in an app that is only supposed to make the UI look nicer. For me this is just a NO. Uninstall. Set DND back to No Exceptions one last time. Live happily ever after.

great app works well, it let's me customize the notification bar the way i wanted to. I'd rate this a 5 star but there's this one problem that i just don't like, i can't open and close my mobile data in one tap in the notification bar, instead it opens it in the settings and there is where i could turn it on/off. i wish it would be a single tap and go because it would be faster and be more convenient.

I mean, I like the app, its really where you can customize your notifications and how you see them much easier, neater, and prettier. But I just wish that every time my finger is on the almost corner if the screen it shows the thing. when I play games like minecraft and the chat and pause button are on the top of the screen I cant press them because of that stupid feature. I love what you guys are doing... I just wish if you could add the slide down only feature...

Is it possible to change the text colour for all text (like the carrier name) instead of just notifications? It's annoying when I set it to a darker text colour for night mode but the text at the top is still white. Also, I can't find a toggle for the text mode automatic or custom colour. I am not sure what 'seconds in the clock' affects as I still don't see seconds on my shade. Which quick tiles have an animation? Lastly, is it possible for us to choose the override wallpaper (including lives)?

Guys, I think you should try your app on an LG phone. LG has a setting that lets me summon the drop-down notifications frame by tapping on a button (Settings > Display > Home touch buttons > button combination). When using it, Android draws the OLD notifications frame, overlapping the one Material Notification Shade draws. On top of that, I also use Nova Launcher, which lets me summon the notifications when dragging my finger from the MIDDLE of the screen, which again draws the OLD notification frame. It shouldn't be like that, there should be just ONE notification frame, but Material hasn't that covered yet.

Beautiful. With the combination of dark purple and light purple colours my notification panel looks so beautiful! But I just hope this app won't devour too much of phone battery. But the new notifications which keep coming still show white background, a feature which needs to be corrected,at least in pro. Noticed a problem today.Unable to capture screenshot.Mobile hangs after tapping screenshot icon. Cast is always on

I like the idea that you can customise the notification and quick settings area. I set it to black background and red texts and icons, just the way I want it. But the app automatically turns off and goes back to my default settings. I've used in on 3 phones. XZ2 Compact, XZs, and Nokia 5.1 Plus all on Pie 9.0 and got same issue. Could have given you 5 ⭐s.

The only thing keeping this from five star is the behavior of a small tap in the area. It instantly starts trying to peek the notifications which can interfere with certain apps with buttons in those areas. Adding the option for a minimum threshold of dragging would be much appreciated.

Very intuitive and well-designed to emulate the style and feel of a Nougat notification launcher. Only criticism I could lodge is the intrusive ads that appear after everything I do. But it does what it is expected to do

The light works almost perfectly, save for two things: 1. If you don't have root, it won't work as perfectly as you want. 2. Twitter notification don't open without the app already open. It needs to tap the notification group to open Twitter first, then it will lead to the tweets on individually tapping on them. Also, in the Your Phone App, notifications appear as this app's notifications, not the default way that they're meant to.

The application is full of bugs and, by a dark theme on notifications, it shouldn't mean that the originality of each app is over rided and just make it black and white. When a notification comes while using the phone and when i drag it, it shows me my original notification panel. Only when it is dragged from top it works. Totally unhappy with the app and, request a refund of the amount that i have paid.

I actually don't know if I would have liked this app or not, because an ad is presented every 2 seconds! I understand having ads on unpaid apps, but at least give the user a chance to actually set things up and try it out before bombarding us with ads! I'm going to find a different app!

Its ok and comes close. Brightness slider is wonky. The layout isnt really customizable as I'd like, as I'd prefer date and gear button at the top instead of bottom. The brightness slider at the bottom starts clipping into this section too if you increase the icon size. I'd prefer a brightness percentage and auto switch next to the slider, but that isnt an option.

Good apps in overall. But a few things can be improved. The sensitivity area on the top of screen is too much, keep accidentally pressing it too much. Cannot actually crop the picture for background also a big problem. Also please add an option to make the notification background transparent aswell.

I had used this app to customize my notification shade and drop-down settings. It used to work extremely well and never failed. After Zipoapps bought the app, it started failing to launch, keep running or retain settings for any length of time. Very disappointed that the app doesn't perform as it once did. Uninstalled.
