With one major omission, this is a near perfect HN Reader for Android. I really strongly recommend it. The omission is the inability to vote down. I rarely do it (it also has a karma floor for the ability) but when I do, it is very important to remove toxicity. I love the black OLED mode and colorful thread level indicators. It can save comments for offline reading, useful for queueing things up while waiting for a subway/metro/plane.

Good app with great UI, but trying to side-scroll on an article is a pain since the app will instead slide to the comment section. The biggest problem I have with the app is that 'Saved Stories' in the app and 'Favourites' on the actual website through a browser are two different lists. What I save in the app is not found in 'Favourites' on the website, and vice versa. And yes, I'm logged in to the same account on both.

Great app. One thing that should probably be looked into is rendering of pages (the article link). Anything from blogspot (and others I can't remember) don't load in the app and I have to click to open externally. If it's just a WebView, no idea why this would happen, but just FYI.

Great features. Very good representation of the site. Would love if some of the bugs were fixed, like the one who cause crashes on API pull - if the app has been sitting in background for a while. Thanks for the app though.

Amazing! but when you see comments, the best part, the arrow is stuck at the top, so when you scroll up in the comments section, you have to scroll really far up to reach the arrow. Some comment threads are REALLY long, so please integrate this feature and I will edit. No ads, good news, and pretty looks. You can save articles as well!

Overall good experience, but are fixes coming for exporting saved post list and following hn links in the app? Both have been broken for me for quite some time (year plus) and I've seen writing around that its was going to be fixed but the problem persists. Thank you.

I've been looking for a Reddit alternative to help limit the amount of time I waste, and I've always discounted HN because the web interface wasn't get friendly on mobile. This app solves that, so I'm hopeful I'll be able to use this instead. I used to live HN, and I feel like I'm rediscovering it. Awesome work on such an intuitive app!

Really enjoy the app, sometimes too much! Would be great if there was a way to limit how many articles are loaded on a page so I don't end up doom scrolling. One minor issue is that Wikipedia links never seem to load, unsure why that would be. Thanks!

it doesn't open some articles without the extra step of going to the external browser, frequently crashes, and doesnt properly save theme. When it does work, it's great.

after the recent update it crashes regularly on refesh. other issue is that it opens blank screen instead of some websites (this happened with older version as well) but i guess it's not that easy to fix.

It's great. I don't know if it's since the last version, but it sometimes, quite often, crashes when you open it and refresh the list of stories. Happens on the Pixel 5 with Android 11 and on an older Huawei P30 Pro with Android 10.

I think the app is great. But ... It needs a paid level or something. I hate the ads. Would happily pay to use app without ads. Also I have to log into the website to downvote things because the app doesn't have that function. Don't need it often, but it is important.

Thanks for your work, but I can't read article in many sites that only display a blank page. And sometimes the background of the comment page changed to black while I set it to other color.

Very clear layout. Easy to see the important information yet the less important text is also visible. However, it fails to render some web pages and nothing is shown except for the comments.

One of the best tech news app. Installed 6-7 apps for getting tech related news, this one clearly stands out! Clean & well designed interface, good set of articles, simple account creation etc! Keep up the good work, such apps are rare 👍🏻

Fantastic App. Makes staying up to date with HN easy. Only 4 stars because the Saved Stories feature has an export button that doesn't work. Please fix this!

nice app, but i dont understand why do i have tap twice to open article in browser. if i'm tapping that button it means article already has not opened in built-in browser (otherwise i would be reading, not tapping buttons). so why try to open it in a bit bigger window on same engine??? just pop me to browser directly

Been using it for years now. My only complaint is sometimes links don't open properly. I think the developer added ways to get around when this happens. Good app over all I think, very clean and minimal.

Fails to properly load most of the articles so you have to open them in an external browser. Kinda beats the purpose of having the app in the first place.

Probably the best app to view the quality content of HN on mobile devices. Can't get better, with the night mode and bookmarking feature. Just keep it simple like this. Loved it.

Once a while it will start not to open most articles. It's really a pity that this issue occurs, otherwise it is a great app, but useless if it doesn't show the articles..
