As an elearning developer and parent I can see the advantages of this app however I feel that a focus on the user experience design by the producers could be much more polished. The skill level and type of questions asked are very appropriate however the interaction on the app could be much more intuitive for children. A few examples: the selection buttons are too small and too close together for little fingers, the navigation throughout the program is confusing, when you press the submit button, which is too small it provides the user with a small tick to show they are correct and then they have to proceed by clicking next, as a UI specialist I would expect this interaction to complete in one click with a popup to say correct and automatically move to the next question. The popup at the end of each quiz could be designed better and buttons provided on this to move back to the menu of quiz questions instead of a tiny X in the corner of a grey box followed by having to select the back button in order to get to the rest of the quiz questions, not intuitive at all at this point! Having the numbers to the right of the question box on a different background colour was confusing for my child as I could see her searching for the place to select her answer from within the question box, full use of the screen would be better here. The colours and graphics used are nice but a little fiddly and outdated refreshing this would make it a lot more appealing to children to use and more emphasis on the points they gain as they move through would motivate learning.
This is works fine on a big screen. I don't see why there are such big white spaces and such small characters, but it's fine. However, I'm running this on my phone and it just doesn't work, text is unreadable. I could make it work on a small screen, but they haven't done that. You can sort of use the Mathletics website on by force zooming, but again, it is appallingly designed for small screens. Probably give it 3 stars, because it's an actual educational app for android, and there aren't many.
Hi... My litle boy is using mathletics for a few years, he has 5 Gold Certificates, and I Think is the only one on his year to have 5 gold certificates, mathematics is very important in life, mathletics is good because help the kids to "exercise" the brain, but recently is been complain that when he finish some of the exercises the system doesn't count the points, and he get very frustrated... Thank you
The android app is signicantly lacking in usability compared to the ios app or the web version. Some features seem to be missing too (eg due dates for assigned work), though the poor app layout makes it hard to know. It is desperately in need of an update.
I think it's a a great app for learning maths, and I like the idea of the game you basically have to get every question correct, you can do pluse, mines, times, and many, many, more fun things.
Impossible to use. Text is tiny on my Pixel XL but no option to change it or zoom in. Might conceivably be usable on a tablet? Definitely not designed by anyone that cared in the slightest about usability.
Very laggy on a fast tablet and sometimes the activites are not particularly intuitive. The app also feels very dated and could do with a referesh of the user interface.
1. First, It is not linked with web version. My son played on web version with browser and I installed this app. But it opens without existing data from web. 2. it will not login at first attempt. throws back login failed message. 3. Doesn't have option to save the password.
Didn't work for me. I entered my daughters user name and password as provided by her school but the app won't recognise it. I have no trouble on the desktop site but unfortunately my only access to that is at my grandads at the weekend and his pc is ancient so struggles to run it. My daughter has use it 3-4 times per week as part of her homework schedule so this is a major issue for us.
Good program doesnt work on tablets/phones. we tried it on computer worked so well we decided to pay to let our 7 yr old practise maths, we thought she could do it on tablet or phone even when we are away from house. we didnt know this APP doesnt work on android tablets or phone, we tried all four tablets and three phones content wouldnt load on any of these device.
I can't give it no stars, I am downloading 230plis updates at under 1 per minute. App is un usable, very poor accessibility as can't zoom in. So we tried the Web app asked us to type in 700 which we did and we got the wrong answer because the Web app turned it to 70070. Educational software can't really be this bad can it? Oh yes it can.
Why do I have to update over hundreds of contents hand by hand even if I use a online version... It takes extreme amout of time and intricated. Also I don't understand why but it lags quite a lot. Even Fortnite mobile on my phone doesn't lag.
the app isn't responsive, so the numbers and letters barely can be read it. isn't usable, the graphics are too small. it needs work to make useful.
This is not ment to actually be a game, it's for challenging yourself with maths. and some schools use it I used it at Seatoun and its fun! You even get to chage your avatar and background.
Cant access anything. Log in fine but nothing! Very frustrating as the web version doesnt seem to work either
Very usefull app, thank you for your hard work. Just wonder, could you increase the font size and button. Since it seems too small. Thank you. I use Android 5.1
My son uses this programon the laptop .however his information will not transfer to the app on the tablet . It is nothing like what is on the computer version. He is disappointed he hasn't got any of his points or the picture he created of himself.
cant sign in using google or microsoft!! Also cant check the mathletics username or password?!? So no idea if a good app as xant get in to use it. any help would be appreciated.
Needs to be updated. Neither the website or app can cope with modern devices. Poor value for money for the many schools psying for this service.
This game is good but I gave it a 3/5 because of the lag and because that you guys didn't update it yet! It's still the old mathletics!Where's the new one?
Great app but can't get app on kindle fire 7 and website interface on tablet is not great. Any chance of kindle compatible version?
I feel that it helps to improve a child's knowledge and support them with anything they find quite hard I know this from personal experience
I am using fire hd 10 alexia tablet ,unfortunately I am unable to download this app for my son for school. As the only option listed are from mobile device. Please help
We use this at school and this is really helpful! I understand my maths so much more than I did before! Thank you for this app 👍
this app helps but it has a disadvantage of visibility and the words are not clear but it is helpful ...
An amazing app to learn but for class challenge i think u should give people from their school a notifycation so they know when someone is on
I wish it was the same as on computers. It feels like it's not the right one when it is! Planning on doing work from school? DON'T EXPECT THE SAME THING ON A COMPUTER
I tried the grade 1 version. It's formatted, badly, as a webpage and dumped into an app, so all of the text and buttons are tiny and difficult to read. The exercises are dull, repetitive math drills, with no reason to solve them other than that they're there. Graphically, it looks like something out of the mid 90s.
