Matthew Henry was born at Broad Oak, Iscoyd, in Wales. He was a Nonconformist minister and writer.
He became very famous because of his renowned commentaries of the Bible, named “An exposition of the Old and the New Testaments”, published in London between 1708 and 1710.
Henry finished his work in the book of Acts, and after his death, some puritans prepared the epistles and the Book of Revelation from his manuscripts.
All his work is considered as the best of English commentaries for devotional purposes.

Absolutely wonderful, amazing app. Have had no issues, problems, or even inconvieniences. If this changes, I will here, address the issue. The only thing I would like to see added is a split screen, so you could use your commentary at the same time. or look up other passages without losing your place.
I have really enjoyed using the Matthew Henry commentary app. It's easy to navigate, and is an excellent source for explanation. I highly recommend it to anyone who is searching for a better understanding of the word and biblical knowledge.
The commentary has disapppeared or is inaccessable. Also, no option for highlighting. Very frustrating. Also, loud pop-up ads.
I'm not here for the ads. They're here and conveniently not as bothersome in frequency as some ads can be. Thank you for that.
I would love to evaluate the app but unfortunately it crashed once I try to open it. I'm using a Samsung Note 8 for the developer if that info helps. I look forward to being able to use the app in the future.
The best commentary bible. I recommend this for all believers. The comments are so revealing the truth and touch on diverse and possible teachings on a given verse or passage. I will recommend all time.
Learning and understanding the Bible is so much more rewarding with the Commentary. It has a good reputation with clergy. Lots of help with bookmarks and notes, and highlights, tying together the Old and New testaments . Can use it offline. Helps you in learning what God did and why Jesus loved you so much that He died for you to prove it. This Commentary will help you understand truth.
You can't scroll with one hand without it changing chapters, which is very annoying. Too many ads as well.
As a Bible teacher I usually have a 400 page commentary. It's difficult to travel with this book. However, this app has been a God- send ! It's so much easier to use it on my phone. This "tool" will continue to draw me closer to Christ!
Fast loading, easy to read not overwhelming. Great information for anyone wanting to study scripture with a clear interpretation.
keeps crashing when opening, otherwise I'd give more starts. I use the online version all the time.
I like that it has the commentary to help me understand the Bible verses better. It easy to find which book or verse you need. Ive had no problems with this app.
App would shut down every time upon opening. Looks like it would have been very useful if I could get to function.😕

I love this app! It is a real blessing to have this commentary available anytime that I can search any scripture to give me a deep and clear understanding of the Word to apply it to my life.
Good , very detailed difficult to read at times but then it was written a long time ago and conversation and Grammer were much more detailed.
In-depth but still experiencing learning God's word more and more each day. I just need to be more disciplined and spend more time in his word and in prayer but I know that he is the only one that makes the difference praise the Lord
Matthew Henry is about the best commentary out there in my opinion. There are a lot of good commentaries, and I use different ones, but this is definitely one of the best! Great App!!!
Downloaded the app, opened it and it closed 4 seconds later. I tried 2 or 3 more times but the app doesn't stay open.
Love being able to read Matthew Henry's commentary when I have questions or unsure if I am interpreting scripture correctly. This is one of my favorite places to seek biblical truth.
This app with the commentary brings so much more meaning to the scripture I read and my daily devitionals. opens up the door for daily relevation in a persons life. awesome.
I like it. Night mode available, plain language and easy to understand commentary, commentary is alongside text but is distinguishable as commentary.
Super book, it explains in details the various passages in the bible. It gives me a deeper understanding of the bible.

Love the app just wish it would give an option to see the verse of the day when ever you want, that way if I want to study it first thing in the morning I can.

It is by no means an exhaustive commentary so if you are looking for the original wordy version it is best to keep looking! It is however a good introduction to whomever has not read it or studied the bible before! It does lack an intro for each book and chapter of the bible which makes it look like something is missing! Was looking for something more comprehensive than this so I am disappointed!
