Living in FL I have tried all the other storm tracker apps and this is by far the best. It is the app that I recommend to all my friends and neighbors. With that said, the one feature that I'd like to see, and the reason I give it 4*s, is adding the time and the ability to pause, stop and start the local radar. As it is, I in now we are going to get trained on but no idea when. Showing the time would make it much better.
I use this app for its very clear charts and diagrams of tropical storms. But I'm frustrated because I can't get the abbreviated text in a notification to open up into a sentence and an article. If you tap on the notification it just takes you directly to the page with various options for following current weather, or weather stories. An DC there is nowhere on the home page where I can write to find out how to do this.
I am disappointed with the Android version of this app. It doesn't have nearly as good of radar as the iPhone version. Being a pilot, I heavily depend on accurate weather to be able to make safe decisions regarding my flights, and I use several sources to be able to get an accurate picture of what the weather is like before and during each flight. The iPhone version of this app had the most accurate radar available up to 5 minutes before the current time. Please fix the radar in this app!!!
Everything was fine with this app until the last update in August. Since then, I cannot zoom in or out on the local radar page using the usual two-finger method. I can zoom in ONLY, by double tapping the screen, and can only return to the normal view by closing the radar display then reopening it. That's a big loss of functionality.
This is my favorite Atlantic/Gulf hurricane tracker app, and have been using it for years now. I would have given it 5 stars, but it looks like there was a change made to the depiction of the string models - they are thinner, more pastel than the colors in the key chart, and less distinguishable. Please fix that.
*** Update: the notifications we receive on our S9+ are only partial & clicking in the notification sends you to the storm's page that has no connection to the notification nor what the rest of the sentence was. The maps and minimal dialogue are really good...you just don't know which advisory they reflect. We all know things can change a lot within a few hours time so it would be useful to know if things we are looking at or reading reflects the 8:00 a.m. advisory or the 5:00 p.m. advisory.
Great-live in FL- use all summer to keep me up to date on threats!! Updated 7-2-2021. I've used this app for years living in Fl. However this year it has changed. It has "local weather" on front page to access but I never get to see it. The commercial just keeps repeating over and over. Never any local forecast. Please remove local forcasts, I can get that easily, I just want hurricane and tropics updates. Don't ruin what used to be a great app!
Very detailed and one of the most accurate apps out there. My only issue is they send you push notifications with a lot of good info on them, but you can't see the whole text. When you click on it it doesn't show you the info it told you. Just links you to the main page in the app. It's very odd.
The original app was excellent. It would give you precise, up to the minute weather info -I would recommend it to everybody; however, not long ago the developer decided to update it and it is a mess. They just give you radar images that display too much of a time span and you can't determine present or upcoming weather. I am bailing out for another app. Sorry, guys, I will come back when you return to original app.
It's okay, but the notifications are next to useless. They say things like "Dangerous hurricane Is about to..." And then they cut off. There doesn't seem to be a way to see the full notification so you never get useful information from them. And there are a lot of ads on the Live Updates page. Otherwise, the app is pretty good.
When I receive notifications from this app, I can only read part of the message. One would think the entire message can be read upon opening the app, but that isn't the case. The app only offers graphics and no reference to the partial message in notification. Very frustrating.
Great way to stay informed during recent tropical storm/hurricane Barry. I receive the alerts but the sentences are cut off and the verbiage is not repeated when pulled up on app. Example: "Hurricane force winds expected from". When tap on alert and app pulled up...no mention of this alert. Fix it please!
I have been using the Max Tracker app for a few years now! I love it! It is always timely and very accurate! If I wake up in the middle of the night from arthritic pain, I check the "Max Tracker Radar" and invariably it is right on target showing me the disturbed weather right over my house! It AMAZING!
Do not know how this app got the rating it has; The rating was reason I downloaded this app in first place. Very limited usability; app sends you first few words of a notification but when you click notification just takes you to the home page of the app with no access to the rest of the message. Was looking for information related to Dorian, as we were in its path here in Tampa, but could never read any of the notification past the first few words. Notification is a false ploy to open app for ad
Simple interface, easy access to pertinent animated radar images. Lost a star as there is no time ranges displayed in the animations, no past or future animation options as well. A feedback option would be a nice addition too.
Good information. I wish it would let me read reports. When my notifications at will say stuff but then whenever I open the app I don't get to read more about it. Very current I formation though. I love the direction, speed, models, and satellite.
The software was changed recently and it's not as helpful as it been before. The current radar is confusing and not as accurate as it had been. I'm sure you've received lots of complaints about the changes. The prior graphics were much superior to what is being used now.
My radar starts with how things were & doesn't stop until some point in the future. Right now, for ex., I'm in South Florida. It starts with bits of green moving and keeps going until it shows a storm but there is nothing but clear skies. Whatever loop error was "fixed" doesn't appear to be working as it should. I stopped using this app because of it and only went back because I asked a family member if they're experiencing the same issue but they are on an earlier version. I last updated 05/22.
