Mayfest Radio is back. Bolder, bigger, and broadcasting 24/7 from the beating heart of the festival. Live from 12pm on 12 May, we’ll bring you music, soundbites and tasters of all of the shows you’ll be able to hear, chats with the artists who are stepping onto Bristol’s stages during the festival and our amazing Mayfest ticket giveaways.
Mayfest Radio is a chance to delve deeper into the festival programme through conversation and debate, interviews and features, plus some carefully selected audio work and a smattering of lovely music. Across the 11 days of the festival, we’ll be bringing back new episodes of old favourites like our apocalyptic take on Desert Island Discs, Arias for an Apocalypse. Hear more about shows like The Complete Deaths, O No! and Can I Start Again Please in Harpin on with Harpin with Idiot Child director, Anna Harpin. Good Morning Mayfest goes out at a 11am each day and we’ll have sounds and views from the belly of the festival with Sara Zaltash in Field Reports.
New for Mayfest Radio, we have Conversations with the Over 4s at 4 where a gaggle of four year olds come into the studio at 4pm to talk about burning issues facing the arts today. The outstanding The World is Listening, presented by Nuala Honan, will be live and digging into the issues facing women in the performance world.
