Worthless. Came with my Arris router but doesn't recognize the router after setup/install. Also, why does this app need access to my phone contacts? AND the ability to place phone calls on Android? That seems like the opposite of "security". Uninstalling. Good that I didn't pay for this on its own merits.
Parental controls leave much to be desired. Blocks only be type, and does a poor job of doing even that. Also, bypass parental controls is turned off, and I can still turn off the McAfee Security App while browsing on a device that is under parental control. Makes it completely useless.
This is the worst app I have ever used. If I could give it less than one star I would. It takes forever to block or unblock a device. I have to try and try over and over. It just thinks then says there is an error. I'll refresh the app and it says the device is blocked, but it won't be blocked. Sometimes it never blocks it. absolute trash. Arris disables parental controls on the router side and forces you to use a branded app, which requires permissions, has terrible options and, most impressively, doesn't work at all. repeat: absolute trash. don't buy Arris.
The app wouldn't even let me finish the sign-up process, it keeps saying "there's a problem on our end". Then when i came back to try again and tried the "forgot password function" it keeps saying it failed. This app is completely broken
Will this steaming pile of dung let me review it twice? It just threw me a notification of a new network device. 'COMPUTER.' Thanks so much Mac! My 3 PC's have been solid for days and now you seen it. No IP or MAC to identify which 'COMPUTER' you think just hopped on. I say, why doncha just go hang in the back of the play store and light up a fatty? That seems to be where you came from. And you need some kind of help back there!
Awful, awful, shameful. You do not need access to my contacts to configure my cable modem. Stay away from Arris modems. They disable direct config of their modems on their https server and require the use of this terrible app. I refuse to use overbearing apps that require perms they don't need.
At first, this seemed like a great App, with the ability to shut my son's internet off at a certain time of night was like a parent's dream come true. I wanted to allow my son access all day, and then shut off automatically at 1 AM, however, the App does not allow you to set the timeframe past 11:59 PM. When I try to set the shutoff time at 1 AM, it says "You cannot set the end time earlier than the start time". You can only set times intra-day.
Will not connect needs to be fixed with an update, when first I purchased with my Arris is was working perfect. Fix the issue with your software. You cant even sign or signup with the app on your phone. Once again McAfee fails to fix its flawed software. Error says cant connect to your device to your router, even after master reset of the Arris modem and reinstalling your Secure Home software again.
Terrible, Arris forces this app to set your parental controls. I don't think they tested it out first. I would rather use the controls on the modem but they have them blocked off and you have to use this garbage app. The worst. Thanks for nothing. Can't give less than 1 star.
Half baked product. Don't believe the app is fully user experience tested. I need to block a certain device but it can not distinguish which device name of the same brand. (e.g. iPad, my iPad or my son's iPad?). (e.g. Intel Computer: I have multiple Intel Computers at home, for me, for my son). Problem would be solved if the app can show device MAC address which is unique.
Your last update broke the app! It ONLY sees 2 connected devices. It should be showing 10 in our network. Refreshing doesn't even discover the other devices.
I was just trying to block a website on my network. It insisted that I use this app to do so. It doesn't even have the function to do so. This app is trash and it has ruined my $200+ modem. I'll never buy another Arris product again
The parental controls are easy to setup, but if you are trying to utilize the program to limit a child's internet access, it does not block access to online games. I bought the Arris surfboard with McAfee secure home internet with the belief I would be able to set a timetable where their internet devices would be disconnected from the internet. While it blocks streaming services like YouTube and Hulu and blocks them from browsing, it wouldn't block online game connections.
Not going to re-write what most have already said. Had same issues, I thought I was doing a good thing with the arris modem/gateway SBG7400AC2, but even it it was a 5 star modem gateway, this app itself pulls it down to a 1
Doesn't work, says I need to make sure I'm connected to my router and I am but it doesn't find anything. and troubleshooting just takes you to questions that are no help what so ever.
Worthless, parental time control doesn't work, pause wifi doesn't work, starting to think if your "secure internet" isn't actually secure. This app is a joke, you guys make your self looking bad by just not fixing issues. Will never by again one of your products in the future

I give this app 5 poop emojis! Good luck getting your issue resolved on ARRIS chat. If factory reset doesn't resolve modem login issue, you're screwed--which is what happened to me.
Not working must of the time, it's confusing. Damaged the internet connectivity. Agreed with all the negatives reviews.
Never use, or think of using mcafee. If you need someone to send money to for sending you adware, just go randomly download things. Its safer.
Horrible app. Doesn't even connect to the modem... It's a joke. I wish I could return modem. Will never buy Arris again.
It isnt telling me anything about any outsider on my network nor how much bandwidth is being used per device.
It doesn't leave me install antivirus on devices. It says installing but nothing happens just blocked the internet so I have to stop the install to let internet work again
Much to my lack of surprise, this app doesn't work. I only tried it out of desperation to get my router to work properly with forwarding some ports. I try to sign in and it says I'm not connected to my WiFi even though I am. With the last update being over a year ago I'm not going to bother waiting for a fix. So long McAfee.
