Buses are not always as advertised. However, drivers have , on the most part been ok. My issues are to do with the management of the timetables.
Bus is always on time and always the same drivers I get and they are the most respectful I have met
Hi there. Issues with app not loading properly. Once you go to app, it shows McGills then it closes down again. I have tried turning phone off and on again. Not letting me log out as it comes on then closes not too long after. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks UPDATE. Checked Twitter as well and updated Google Chrome as advised, then opened Chrome to load first before opening app. Seems to be working fine now. Thanks
Fixes all the problems of the old app, lots of quality of life updates. Can reach the ticket screen in less than a second, timetable feature is very handy and has live service updates which you can see on Google maps. To transfer existing tickets, use the same email address for the new account and once you verify the email, your tickets will automatically transfer over. Only suggestion is that I would like to make the ticket screen the home screen, instead of the maps.
Against all expectations, I actually quite like this. It loads faster and more reliably than the old app. It gets to your tickets quite quickly. The map with departure times is genuinely useful (though a shame so few of the buses are live tracked at the moment).
Great app for finding times of busses and mostly on time
This app has been really useful the last few weeks with public transport being cut back due to lockdown and me being so reliant on it for work etc. I'm able to plan my day alot easier and the timetables are up to date and easy to navigate. Highly recommend for people who use public transport.
The app itself works okay. More stable than their first app, but it's absolutely abysmal with bus times. I've had buses arrive 10 minutes before the app says they're due to arrive, I've had them show up 10 minutes late and I've even had buses not show up at all. Avoid using if possible.
Great always handy to have , and keeps you updated
First time that I've ever felt the need to write a review. As is always the case with McGill's, the services they offer are shoddy, poorly managed, overvalued and of course unreliable - this app is no better. It caused my phone to have a sim error that rendered my phone useless... not a very good mobile app if the app can't be used on a mobile without breaking it.
From America and have never used public transportation before. Their app has made it so a person that doesn't even know which direction he is facing can navigate with ease. Nice to use my phone to be able to check routes, times, departures, and scan my bar code from my phone.
I like that new application. Sure, there is still a bit to improve but.. When downloading the timetables, these are not working since added on a Home screen. I would also prefer to start with a screen with tickets instead of a map. I do not use data, so a bit concern about how this would influence it. But, 5 stars from me. Great effort, thanks!
Edited 09/10/18 after a prompt response... I've got the m-ticket set up - it would be handy to have something say you need to click on the email (which arrived about 14 hours after I registered my email). Hopefully, will be plain sailing from now on. Not sure about this new app being forced on us. Firstly, loads of features (not sure how well they work) which I won't use - I just want to have my tickets. Secondly, and much more important - where's my ticket from the old app? Lucky for me it expires today - let's wait and see what happens when I try to buy one tomorrow. The blurb says you need to put in card details to buy - was it too much trouble to set up googlePay or PayPal. Hopefully I'll be able to change my star rating fort he better...
Great live bus times/timetables as well as the mobile ticket section
app is hopeless just like the bus service, cannot sign in at all now to top up my go smart card, keeps saying invalid password so I ask for a new 1 and when I put the temporary password in it still doesn't work!!! also there doesn't seem to be an option on the web site (Not the app) for you to top up your go smart card either..... back to tickets for me then. With the amount they charge they should at least have a decent app!!!
Fantastic has been a life saver at times though one negative couldn't see any single price fares from Barrhead to Paisley.
I like the app. I enjoy the fact that it has real-time updates for buses arriving at bus stations. I like that you can favourite bus stations. I wish that you could label your favourite bus stations though. One criticism which I have raised within the app and have not received a response about though is as follows: The terms and conditions clearly state that this app will not save your card details either within the app or on their server. But if you go to buy a ticket, you are forced to save the card you used to purchase. Why, McGill's? Even worse than that, there is no further check required for future purchases. If your kids have free reign of your phone, all they need to do is go into this app, click a few buttons and have potentially spent a significant amount of money. I like the app and the only reason why I've still given it 5 stars is because my confidence in my confidential information being kept securely by organisations is so low, as to expect there to be a data breach of some kind by every company I use.
This is like handing someone a Swiss army knife when all they want is a screwdriver. It still lets me buy my tickets although more awkwardly (instead of 6 tickets in 1 PayPal, its 6 individual CC transactions. No purchasing multiples at the same time. No PayPal support.) and the rest of it is fairly pointless to me.
The app in general is pretty good, live times in my area are fairly accurate. However recently the app is crashing when trying to use a ticket. Unless this gets fixed the app is a waste of time.
Ok app, totally let down by the fact it's impossible to get the cost of a ticket for a simple single or return trip between 2 stops. Forces you to buy a (probably) more expensive "GoZone" pass instead.
Loved this app, but after being logged out, I can no longer gain access when my password is incorrectly being told it is wrong. And after trying several times to request a password recovery email, no such email is ever sent
Great app! You can use the map for the closest bus stop and you get legit real life updates! Always lets me know when I need to be at the bus stop! Even if the bus is going to be early or late! Fantastic!!
App is OK but bus service braehead 26 is shockingly late constantly. Worse bus service out.
Really impressed. I can buy and activate tickets in 10 seconds, see where the bus is, plan the journey and get timetables. Plus no more paper tickets and cash to bother with.
