App used to be decent, good for using extension emotes and watching streams without the native Twitch clutter. However, servers appear to be offline - cannot connect to Twitch, view videos, or clips. Developer appears to be... gone? Until things come back online, I hold out hope. New users: nothing for you here. I will update this review when things change.
The notification keywords don't work if they aren't completely written the way you set them up. For example, if someone types the keyword and a letter is in caps, it won't work even if it's the same word. Also, some of the options when you tap on a user's name don't work, mostly the ban/timeout ones, whisper works if I keep pressing it. Great app overall, keep up the good work!
Hi. I do enjoy using this app a LOT. There are multiple reasons and features that this has over the original twitch app. But every time I'm in a stream, even though I have the option to keep your screen on during a stream, after about 10-15 mins of being in one, the video and sound will just disappear and all I can see if the chat still going full screen. I have to back out and re-enter the stream to re-enable video and sound again. Please help me with this, I will give your app 5 stars if fixed
Very good app but missing a few key features that makes it a 5 star. 1. The most important is there is no chat replay for VODS. Only the current live chat is shown. 2. No ability to go forward or backwards a certain amount of seconds with buttons makes it hard to navigate 3. There needs to be a list layout option for followed channels that does not take too much space. The current layout makes it so one channel consumes most of the screen, which makes it take too long to scroll down.
Love everything about you and the app. The communication between community and developer is really good. The app has a lot of functionality and very accurate to what is actually going on in Twitch chat. I have just one suggestion, please add blacklist. Like blocking certain phrases (DankChat is a good example of a good implementation of this), or when a character is repeated too many times, it gets blacklisted. It's the one function that would really make the app shine (appreciate the reply 🙂 )
The app is very nearly perfect. The only reason I am giving it 4 stars is because of a minor playback issue. On an OnePlus 6(19:9 screen ratio) opening and closing the chat in fullscreen mode causes parts of the broadcast to be cropped out(It scales the 16:9 playback to the width of the screen, which cuts off the top and the bot of the screen). This is easy to fix by pressing the fullscrean button and letting it automatically come back, but I would appreciate not having to do this.
Edit: there IS picture in picture mode. You have to enable it at the bottom of the app's settings. Changed review as promised. I'm gonna donate too and I hope others do the same. This app has a lot of potential. Everything technically works as advertised. If they add picture-in-picture feature, then I will change this to 5 stars and not complain about anything ever again. But as of now, the UI is incredibly clunky and bloated and difficult to even look at, let alone use.
Great app in overall, its got BTTV emotes, and many others stock twitch app don't offer. Though i would appreciate it if you could make a setting to choose our preferred resolution so you don't have to set it once you are watching a stream. It would really help, especially when you are travelling and there are no accessible wi-fi's, and data can get a little bit expensive.
Great for using bttv/ffz on mobile. Capable of persisting chats for multiple streams at once. Though I don't use it much, the player works well, and adds features not available in the Twitch app, such as a sleep timer. Unfortunately, you can't use native animated emotes in it yet, but I'm sure that feature will be added soon.
Use this app to moderate my streams, super useful! However, I've set to recieve notifications when certain keywords are used in chat. When I recieve these notifications, they are shortened and cut off on my Samsung TouchWiz notification bar. Clicking these notification does not expand it, or open the app, essentially rendering them useless ^ this is still a reoccurring issue
One of the best alternative apps I've come across. Only regret is not finding this one sooner. UI is unique and there is a bit of a learning curve with it, however if you take genuine time to go explore the app you will learn it's navigation is quite clean. The app is packed with features. Kudos to the Developer here - I'm enjoying this app immensely. Thank you for your efforts.
The good: - Plays back livestreams, lets you pick quality - Has bttv emote integration. The bad: - often when I return to the app, the chat of a stream is going but there's no button to open the stream itself. Have to turn off the switch on the sidebar (who knows what that does???) And then re-open the stream. - sometimes triggering picture in picture mode causes the stream to be playing twice - swiping to switch "tabs" is bad ux - sidebar is actually useless - browsing has tons of wasted space
Amazing app overall and the UI is really clean, a good alternative to Twitch for BTTV. Only thing really lacking in my opinion is the option to switch the screen when turning the phone horizontally, it's always stuck to the left, which is a bit annoying to watch with earbuds.
Very finicky to get using, punishes you for looking at the main menu while in a stream, the settings leave a lot to be desired, and I can't watch VoDs. All of that is honestly whatever cause I'm now used to using three different apps to access twitch depending. However, the biggest problem is that this app is primarily supposed to be a chat app for Livestreams, but it doesn't render a single twitch emote. It only shows BTTV emotes. I can select sub emotes from the menu but they appear as text.
Generally this app is good. When I started using it, I started to play the video in the background (via the music note) and it didn't stop or at least I couldn't find a way to stop it eccapt stopping the app. Another wish/suggestion is, that it would be cool if you could add an emote window. (like it is available in the normal twitch app). It would be nice to easily find out the name of an emote and if it is a BTTV emote or a Twitch Subemote. Thanks!
No updates in a year, the app will not connect any streams and just give an error message, and the dev is missing again on any social media. Trash heap of an app from compared to what it could have been.
**11/8/21 DEVLOPER EMAIL PROVIDED BY YOU IS NOT WORKING AGAIN!** *[UPDATE 3-17-22]* App no longer works AGAIN. Have tried to email the Dev at the email provided on this page and at the email listed within the app and they BOTH are returning mail instantly and NOT being delivered AGAIN. I'M DONE WITH THIS APP! It was the best Twitch app out there, but every time it stops working there is no way to contact the Dev and they don't seem to care anymore. 🤷🏾
Has been great. Lately though it keeps saying there's no streams available even though there is. I think its due to the new twitch API and the old one is being shut down. I hope the app gets fixed.
Another one of the settings I use on desktop was added to the app, the setting to limit the chat messages which is very useful when watching a stream with a chat full of spam. I have a suggestion regarding the uptime, I just think it would be better to have an additional hh:mm and hh:mm:ss format for it.
I love this app because it has BTTV/FFZ emotes and saved chat for when you leave the app, a few features the official twitch app was lacking. The only thing that is kind of annoying is that completely disables each chat that you had enabled when it detects that you aren't connected to internet (after long periods I assume) and along with that the chat history is gone forcing you to reconnect to all the chats by individually enabling them 1 by 1 which gets quite tedious with multiple chats.
Update: Many strong features, for a 3rd party app this works remarkably well for its purpose. Streamers can use this to stay connected to their chat while on the move, great for art and casual streams. Only wish is making my chat lurk count as a valid viewer without much video running (super tiny video?). Remove Ads price WAS very high, but latest version is much more generous. If you have Play Credit, drop a little on the Support Dev button! This is a heroic app for all that love Twitch.
There is some kind of bug when setting the chat message limit to (100). Eventually the chat starts repeating the same messages in a loop unless you redundantly scroll the chat down. Also, it would be nice to have a set quality option as I only watch in 360p.
The app is nearly perfect for what I needed, the only downside is that its a huge drain on battery, I'd like to see less of a drain and for the app to be more efficient, overall its very well put together and does everything you could want from a third party twitch app.
i think its a pretty good app. Compared to the offical twitch app i would recommend this one. I do have a few bug or concerns i wanna voice. 1) Sometimes i get a random notification (when not in use) to enable 2G option. 2) When i touch the notification for X streamer that has gone live it wont give me the option to play the video unless i exit to the app and relaunch it or i have auto play enabled. 3) When you go to your own channel you cannot use any commands it says you dont have permission
1)There is no way to earn/claim or spend channel points 2)I have been waiting for a clip making feature for years. 3)Using a keyboard, when I hit enter to post a comment the entire chat section highlights, & stays that way. Very distracting, I hate it. 4) Can't see animated twitch emotes. 5)With video, trying to look through available emotes is often difficult in the tiny display window that can't really be resized. 6) 480p only for live streams?? Being able to export a VOD to Mxplayer is 5/5
Hey man, love this app and thanks for finally making something like this with bttv and everything :) I have an issue on my Huawei mediapad though where the stream wont stop playing in notifications, I can't close it even if I have closed the app and don't see it running. Kinda annoying when wanting to reset a stream. Otherwise all good
Pretty good! Has some connection issues now and then, nothing that prevents me from using it. Just stopped working for me though, expired token and a bad request json message when I click login. Not sure if twitch error or app or my phone. Clearing cache didn't work.
Used to be a great app to watch and chat on twitch. Now you can't watch videos and the emote menu doesn't work. HOWEVER it does still work for chatting and to be honest it's one of the most reliable chat apps. Almost never crashes and even in really fast chats with lots of people, messages almost always go through (which can be a problem on mobile chat apps). Still useful if you dont mind having to manually add channels.
