It works pretty well and I like the interface graphic style (tired of flat design). However (maybe because my phone has a weird screen ratio - Xperia 10 ii) the album covers are not centered on the player screen, and there's a blank space between the bottom of each screen and the bottom menu. If these issues were fixed I'd buy the full version and make it my main player for my dlna+renderer (as I assume the full version has same problems?)
Tried on Pixel 4 XL to stream from Synology to Yamaha NX-N500 speakers. The music plays but the status bar does not move and I get the message "renderer does not respond". I played another album. The same thing happened but this time the app crashed. The music kept playing and the information was visible in the MusicCast app which, obviously, I will keep.
Excellent app with USB Audio Player Pro. Not only did it work the first time, but the sound quality was the same as UAPP running natively. BTW, I did notice a definite difference in sound quality between mconnect and BubbleUPnP, with mconnect being vastly superior. I'm using Qobuz and the integration was good. Well worth the few $$ the developer is asking. Vey nice work!
The app is quite functional and easy to use. However UI needs to be upgraded and could have been more clean. At least the paid version could have that but as a free app it is great. It acts as a proper dlna controller/player. The tidal integration is better than bubbleupnp and even paid app audirvana.Only complain is it stops playing occasionally. Removed one more star as most of the time the player unable to play next song after the previous one finished.
It works streaming TIDAL via UAPP pro to old LG V40 as streamer... but cannot adjust volume level from Mconnect Player....
it feels like the app it's stuck at Android KitKat design, it needs a touch of freshness with modern UI. Tidal token needs to refresh automatically when expired if possible (when you leave the app unused for a while and return to it). The "back button" must go to the previous screen like other thousands of apps and not opening that pointless "Close Application" dialog. I'd pay if the app fixed these annoying issues.
The Good - You can play Tidal Masters with it via Google Chromecast Audio. The Bad - It hangs very often. More often than not, I can't complete playing the set in my queue list because the app will hang and close, wiping out my playlist. Not sure if the paid version would be any better.
This app is potentially brilliant but it's upnp device detection is buggy so that it misses most of my devices initially and then repeated searches actually find fewer devices than previously and the missing ones never return. I have particular problems with Denon devices and I notice some similar comments in other reviews. If this bug was fixed this would be a fantastic app, the best interface to my Tidal account that I've seen. Please fix this and I will happily pay for the full fat app.
Please fix the stupid bug with "Invalid file" that bothers and requires rebooting everyday! If you fix it I will buy full version!
Nice to have simple player interface. Too bad the folder of choice could not open, via a default setting, on startup instead of having to navigate to it every time; but that's what you get with "simple".
This seems a good application which is stable and responsive on my local network. The interface is refreshingly simple and well designed. The integration of Spotify would persuade me to purchase the full version hence one star docked? Thanks
Good concept but it does not play Gapless over Chromecast Audio or to DLNA player. Also does not cast above over 16/44.1, even when selecting MQA and Hi-Res audio. No advantage to using this over the native app. Qobuz tech support recommended this app to resolve Gapless and Hi-Res issues when streaming to my system. Unfortunately, it does not.
I have trying to find an app to link my Cocktail audio system with their wifi speaker. App has found renderer and speaker but when I try to load an album on the player it tells me the server does not respond. There is no help or settings on the app.
Seems to work well, it takes a little while to understand how it works but once you are done it does what it is supposed to do. I am not sure what the "non lite" version adds in terms of vuntionality, maybe it takes away the advertisement?
Omg. EVRIKA! it exists! It works! It's perfect 🤩 select what( mix local and network folders in queue) and where to play + awesome controls and streaming without delays. Thank you!!
Exactly what I needed to cast my music to Google Home. But, doesn't work well for offline playing and doesn't integrate well with Bluetooth devices.
I use it to play master audio from tidal to my denon receiver. It works amazing.. Love the 24 bit output. Works with chromecast too! Please make the UI better
Much better than other upnp/Dlna players works a treat through my naim uniti via the upnp setting and no longer limited to just 16 bit tidal or spotify connect via the built in naim app as this plays tidal masters and qobuz hi res files too and I reckon sounds better too. Just brilliant. Give it a go if you have upnp/dlna functions on your hifi you won't be disappointed.
Works well streaming Tidal MQA from my Sony XZ phone to my Linn Akurate DS, but the maximum resolution is limited to 48kHz even when the master is 96kHz. One question for the developers is why it gives the message "session does not have playback privileges," and stops streaming.
Many people commenting negetively on TIDAL MQA sampling rate should know that it is not Mconnect's limitation and something to do with MQA format. Mconnect sends the full MQA file to UpNp Dac and it is upto Dac to decode and unfold the file fully, to get the full sampling and bit rate of Hi-res audio. However it could have been better if the app could do first unfolding (decoding) to give up to 96 Khz, like Audirvana or Roon. However this expectation is unfair.
The day the side swipe gesture becomes 'back' instead of 'exit', I will purchase the paid version that very day and change review to 5star. Overall fantastic otherwise. Infact I prefer their Tidal UI over Tidal's own.
Just worked! Intuitive and obvious. Controlling the playing of music files via Moode from a USB drive on a RPi to a DAC. Which I had spent hours failing to get working using BuubleUPnP.
Like paid version connects to Pioneer N-50 and stream local files successfully. Unfortunately with Tidal "File format not supported" error message displays on N-50. Both for standard files 44.1/16, as for MQA.
Installed this app to replace Cadence which Cyrus pulled. Installed mcconnect lite and it worked first time. I now run my Cyrus Stream Signature from my Samsung tablet, using Tidal. Finally I have got, what I purchased two years ago, actually running! Just got to work out how to upgrade to the premium version!
