I love this music app. It's like the only one that is compatible with Android Auto. It has a nice, clean interface that is very functional. The only thing I would add is an export function for playlists. I change phones from time to time and it would be great for when I swapped my sd card, the playlists would come too.
OK functionality, and allows local playback of files in android auto. However, it disregards any settings for which folder to look in, so if you're like myself and have quite a few audiobooks the library gets cluttered and shuffle all songs becomes unusable. This was it's primary use so for me it doesn't function well at all. Luckily poweramp added android auto functionality AND it allows you to set which folder it looks in. So this app is getting uninstalled.
Not a big fan of the April 2020 update. Swipe down rescan makes more harm than goid, it rescans every single time when you open the app (even just unlock the phone and resume to the ongoing app). The biggest problem after the update is that it will disconnect from the bluetooth device (i.e. car audio) when I turn off my screen. This issue keeps happening so that I have to 'downgrade' the app back to the previous version. My device is Huawei Honor View 10, running Android 9.
my view had changed. the playlist it took me years to make has been lost after an update. now, the player will stop playing when my sview cover is closed on my Samsung Note 8. On the plus side, it does work on android auto but you have to load the playlist everytime you plug your phone in, unlike when it was working correctly. I hope the feedback is worth something and they fix this stuff. I really use to like this app. Now I'm just using Samsung and Google music.
It was working fine for a year, I had upgraded the previous version, The Screen on the phone died, So I got another phone, On the new phone the new version was installed, but all folder sort by data is not working, and all folders shuffle is on, I disable it but it goes back to it, And no idea how it is doing this, The Music Apps are working fine as to sort by date, but not MD Player, It used to work fine, Now it is annoying, Any suggestions, I have done enough trouble shooting already.
I used to really like the app but since it's last update, performance is bad, when I open it, it will rescan the library and it takes looong, when finally music starts playing, whether I turn off the screen or wait till it turns off, the music will stop, same when using Bluetooth, I have to close the app, reopen it wait for it to scan again and then the music will play correctly but if I stop playing music for a few minutes when I click play again the app will do the same, it happens every time.
Lacks distinct playlist Great app if not that it lacks a distinctive system of creating playlists and adding to them. It'd have my 5-Star if this is improved so you can go to your playlists directly and not having to have them listed on the general list. Yuk
New swipe down to rescan feature is annoying! Had a feeling I would regret updating my app. Good job screwing up something simple and functional! It's free, it's great, what are you waiting for? Bought other players, but for Android Auto, this is the best player.
App lets me easily "just play files" a feature that is apparently near impossible to implement judging from it's competition. It does occasionally not pause when unplugging from autolink causing podcasts to restart though, but you can't have everything.
If only it worked in landscape mode!! Needs the ability to hide album art in order to keep the screen dark at night. Shake gestures would be good. Shortcuts to driving mode and keep screen on are excellent.
By far the best music player for Android Auto. The intefrace is light, clean and clear. The only missing feature for me is the automatic download of the album art. I hope it will come one day.
it was fine but a recent update makes it no longer work properly in android auto. player no longer recogizes that there are playlists, only listing "most played" as the only option to use in my player.
the good it works with Android auto. the bad it can't add folders and it only found a handful of songs. still haven't found a fix for this.
Music player of choice when using Android Auto. Simple and clean. Thank you. The only feature I cannot find and would like to see is a sleep timer.
Good app. but with some bugs. Sometimes need to sort of reset to all music to get it plays and it shows only 2 album arts in my case. Nonetheless it's a free app. 👍
really like how it works with android auto - crashes as a standalone app when i go back to the library - hope it gets a skip ahead/back 30 sec button and reverse sort option - doesn't find my wma audio - i could be using it improperly :)
works perfectly. no issues whatsoever. had this on my Blackberry Priv for 3 years, and now it's on my Google Pixel 3. no ads. no gimmicks. just a solid music player.
I loaded this app to connect to sync 3, which works. However, it did not access all my of my stored music. other music players work just fine
App works perfectly, I use it to connect to android auto.. Would give it a 5 star if you could change the skin on the app and also choose the layout on the screen of the car?.. But all in all it works... Also suggestion if they can add album tag cover on it....
upgraded from previous phone, and now MD Player will only play if it is the active app, and also shuts off if the screen is turned off. Useless. There MUST be a fix for that?
Playlist button is very small and hard to touch while driving. Please add setting for changing buttons sizes. Thanks.
Good app but voice controls with my headset dont work. I use android auto on my motorbike and have to fiddle with the controls to change songs. Otherwise works well
I love it because it gives the possibility to play music based on folder structures and works great with Android Auto.
Crashes every time I try to return to the album list so I'm stuck playing the same album unless I reinstall it. Useless.
I installed this app because "Folder Player" is not compatible with Google Auto. First thing this app does is index all the audio files on the phone, creating a congested music library, before I even have time to set the music folder. Then proceeds, to phone home with the excuse of bring "metadata" of my music, which of course implies giving information about my files to an unknown server. All of this without any warning. After I selected the folder with the music, for some reason I doesn't remove the excluded files from the list, and also keeps "searching for music" all the time. When I checked again the "Music Library" options, it keeps "auto-adding" "Device Storage" and "Removable Storage", which makes the option "Select Folders" completely useless. If you want to use this app, you better disable the internet access for this one specific app.
