MDT Travel Info
MDT Travel Info, formerly MDT Mobile, provides traveler information focused on the State of Montana, including road conditions, construction projects, road incidents, still camera images, and atmospheric information. The app allows a user to find their current location and map routes based on address or city names. Routing, addressing, and base maps are provided by Google Inc. Additional base maps are provided by ESRI Inc.
The winter road reporting season runs from November through April. During this time, road conditions are updated twice a day or as major changes occur.
Road reports are based on the last reported condition, the information is not real time. Please be aware that conditions can change rapidly so plan for winter conditions.
Camera and RWIS information is the last reported from our remote sites. Site update times vary so please note the data time and know that weather in Montana can change rapidly. Some of the cameras are from other DOT agencies in neighboring states and provinces.
Current radar image is provided by the Iowa Environmental Mesonet and updated every five minutes.

In my opinion one of the worst road conditions apps out there. Currently driving across Montana and it shows wet conditions as the snow is coming down like crazy. Doesn't show wind on a timely basis even though dot has mobile signs out cautioning about high winds. You're close to Wyoming, get with them and get some pointers on how to make your app better.
Definitely helpful. Not always 100% accurate if you go strictly of the map. Check the cameras in the app to get a better grasp of road conditions. Pro tip, screen shot the menu and your travel route to send to your employer if road conditions will make you late or unable to travel.
The app no longer works. All that comes up says no internet connection. That is not the case. I used it a lot especially for winter road conditions. It no longer works. Useless.
Does anyone know what's going on with this app? It used to be very useful with up to date information but recently only tells me I don't have an internet connection, but when I check I find that I still am connected. I've uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times and still the same issue. Could someone please check into this?
App is broken, I'm not even able to open it. It's just saying "Check Internet Connection." I'm guessing they didn't update their app for compatibility with software updates.
This app just quit working, it now tells me I have no internet connection. Guess I'll just have to go to there website. When it was working it was decent. Took a while to learn but I got the info I needed for trip planning.
App is very slow on both my devices. I find that it is quicker if I just go directly to Mt. gov website and look at the current road conditions.
This app is extremely useful for all of our statewide travels, especially during inclement weather. Thankful to see what we are up against for our daily excursion's.
Don't waste your time downloading this app. It won't even load and inaccurately states there's no internet connection available. Your best bet for reliable info is the NWS for your local area.
I can't even open the app, it keeps telling check internet connections and its find. But the app won't open. My son moved to Montana for his job and I can't even see what the weather is like on the passes.
This APP is no longer reliable. Opens then claims there's no internet connection and closes, day after day.
This just needs an update. I was looking for road conditions and it showed an incident on my route. WHELP it says there was a car wreck. I look at the time it says March 23 2020....its October. Archive this and remove the info.
My go to app before I leave the house always! Pics from the snowplows give u a real good idea of what the roads are like. The only thing it is missing is share options.
Will someone please fix this app! It says I have no internet connection when I most certainly do have a connection. Other reviewers have said the same. Come on! Winter weather is coming!
Not working today, 10/12/2021. Says no Internet connection. I have WiFi and data on. All other Internet apps working fine. Reloaded from Google play and still no go.
It has been a little slow on showing tge true weather in some areas but hopefully tge new updates will be better.
No internet connection? Yeah right. My internet is fully functional and running as it should. Add my name to the list of people experiencing this same issue.😶
Haven't been able to log onto for the last 2 weeks, once I was able to but cameras on the hole state would even show up on the mt map.
Used to be my go-to ap before leaving the house. Now the ap tells me I don't have internet connection and won't open. Huge bummer as I travel.

App is almost never up to date on current highway conditions. Totally unreliable
App doesn't work, after opening it closes immediately saying I have no internet connection
App used to be good but now it is worthless. Incorrectly, tells me I don't have an internet connection.
Will not let me open, reinstalled, cleared cache, if anyone has an answer would love to hear it.
Love this app,, best map to use in the winter for road conditions..
I've been using this app for years. Until recently I'd have given a 4* rating since the road closure and condition updates are a few hours behind actual current events. My 2* de-rating stems from the app no longer opening on Android systems; I don't know if the same applies to Apple products. I hope it gets resolved soon, winter conditions are right around the corner mid-November of '21.
