MechBox 2: Hardest Puzzle Ever
Background
The Mechanical Box is one of the last fragments of the technology used by the Ancients and still existing in the post-apocalyptic world of the alternative Earth. A high-tech device created with only one purpose: to store and protect an unknown Object inside. To date, the Box is in poor condition: it’s partially damaged and overgrown with moss and other vegetation. There is a warning written on one side which is still readable: "SUBNUCLEAR CELLS MUST NOT BE REPLACED".

Great concept, poor execution. Some of the clues are such a stretch it's a bit ridiculous. I've played countless "hardest puzzle ever" games they at least make sense once you discover the solution. This often doesn't. Also it regularly loads games in the wrong resolution, missing out parts of the level making it impossible to solve, even if the clues actually made sense. Ontop of all that, the frequency of ads, even without needing hints, makes this a soul draining experience.
I finished the whole thing up to level 15, using the hints they provided for many of the levels. Level 8 stumped me the most... To say the puzzles are unintuitive is putting it mildly. Hard puzzles should be based on LOGIC, and not on arbitrary things...They might as well make you count the number of leaves, dots, or screws in the level.... Not cool guys!
Editing this now that I'm on level 12: I wouldn't call this game "difficult" as much as I would call "illogical". I think it's either purposefully done in an illogical way or just bad puzzle design so 3 stars. I would give an example but don't want to write a spoiler. *********************************** Definitely a series of difficult puzzles for the serious puzzler. Some things seem a bit of a stretch to me and borderline illogical, therefore forcing the player to watch ads to get a hint.
It looks like a fun game, but you really don't have adaptable resolution, really??? I mean come on. The game is basically filling up 3/4 of my phone's screen, with a gigantic black stripe on the bottom, and if i force full screen from the phone's settings it's unplayable because some buttons become unreachable.
The game is good but I can't see the bottom half of most puzzles they need to optimize the game to where it auto adjusts to you screen size for you device or make it to where you can change the screen boundaries in the setting the game is very hard to play when I have to guess what at the bottom and top part of my screen. If this issue gets fixed I'll definitely be eating 5 stars TL:DR I have the one plus 7t and I can't see the bottomed part or top part of the controls or puzzles
(Achtung! Spoilers ahead! ) Have to change my review from 5-star to 2 star after walking through levels. In some levels some puzzles are very unintuitive. I know, that this is a hard puzzle game, but this is too much. Well, that Caesar computer. There was at least a label with "Caesar-1", so let it be a small, but hint. But that level with Bulls and Cows game? I'm sorry, but how on Earth I can come to conlusion, that this is it? No hint, and I have interpreted "B" and "C", as "Blue" and "Cyan".
Seems like a great game but some of the puzzles don't seem to work the way they are supposed to, or are next to impossible to figure out and the Ada are outrageous, and to get rid of ads in a game for $3 just seems excessive.
This game was great and easy at first but it was very frustrating it took me at almost 11hrs to complete this puzzle challenge of 14 stages with 82 hints used. some of the hints can be helpful, but it may or may not throw you off or it will give you answer or not ovall I enjoyed it but It was a complete mindf**kin some of the stages. I don't want to give spoilers it defeats the purpose of it
It certainly lives up to its reputation as the hardest puzzle ever, but I feel some are just downright impossible even with all the hints. You should make the last hint the answer. Another thing about hints, I do not believe there is a way to view the past hints after you finish watching the adverts to show the hint. There should be a way for us to see the previous hints that we unlocked using advertisements.
Trash I can't get past stage 6 can someone tell me how to pass it or walk me through the steps on how to pass it. Another thing is the puzzle its super duper hard I can't even get pass one step without a hint after 1 hint it should be the answer to solve it. Please fix this and tell me how to pass stage 6.
Some of the puzzles were way too hard and some were based on luck or reaction, which shouldn't be a factor at all. Otherwise I liked it, and the graphics are amazing!
Terrible. I play a lot of puzzles and escape games. This game is horrible. The puzzles are ridiculous, not intuitive at all. Needed hints on almost every one. Entering numbers upside down, or counting the number of "circles" in a 4 digit code. Awful. Don't waste your time.
Absolutely love this, great way to spend some time and solve stuff ... however ... my rating is due to having my game "reset" and now asking for payment again to remove ads. Fact that I've not played in a while, but feeling snubbed by the situation. Had both 1 and 2 paid, and now both have ads again.
I like puzzles. A lot of the puzzles here are good brain busters. However, sometimes the "logic" is quite dumb. E.g. getting the code from counting the closed circles in a string of numbers. How were we supposed to work that one out? There must be a key to decode something, otherwise it's just gibberish.
Not a good game if u want something to pass the time. It requires a lot from players, knowing about stuff beforehand, and forget about googling answers. I just finished level 13 and i decided to remove the game because its demanding. Picross games are fun to pass the time with, this mechbox is just a royal, painfully impossible, game for the average person
Its ok, it's not a true puzzle game, it's a trivia puzzle game, it won't give you all the answers and requires its players to have prior knowledge, for example, one level requires knowledge of the caesar cipher, before this level I had no knowledge the caesar cipher even existed, long story short, it's an ok game with some moderately sized flaws for a puzzle game
This game is amazing. It is not your basic puzzle game with the same problem repeated over and over so that once you've done the first problem you've kind of done them all. You really have to think with this. Observation is key and you have to be able to think outside of the box. Very, very enjoyable and a great brain teaser. Good for people who actually enjoy logical and thought provoking puzzles.
It's been fun so far but, on the level with the four indicators I got the hint saying "pay attention to the last indicator"AFTER I broke all of them off. Can you please tell me the answer because it was so hard to make them all face up already and I can't just restart and waste another five minutes doing it again. Edit:ok it was easy so don't say answer
As with the first Mechbox it's just an advertisement platform. Dev didn't even use the money grabbing from the first game to make a decent second gave to make up for the first.. puzzles don't follow a logical path and are just dumb luck solutions or follow the walkthrough that someone else has tripped their way through to make..applause to them if it's not the developer of this game that made them..stuck? watch an Ad. Useless hint? Yes! Ad. Solution doesn't make sense or was offscreen! DELETED!
You complete the game not by figuring out stuff but by guessing. You are put in a situation where it doesn't tell you what the goal is and you keep clicking everwhere to find out what they want and only then comes the actual puzzle, which are not really challenging
The game have a very nice design and idea,but the execution is TERRIBLE. Without hints, you can't tell what to do. Level with calculator for example. How do you expect me to find out that I can move compartment Up and Down without random guessing? Game does NOT even hint you what to do without watching and ad.
I really enjoyed this initially some fun puzzle solving. But the touch a button get an ad, touch a button get an ad totally ruined the entire experience. I understand ad revenue is necessary but that has gone beyond excessive.
The 3rd or so layer with the shapes is impossible without hints. The first hint says the password is upside down. But there is nothing upside down. I thought maybe it meant the pascode we already used. Except the next hint proved I needed the hints to get through. The pass code was not listed anywhere. The code to get the screwdriver was not the code used in the hint when turned upside down. It's hard to explain this without spoilers though.
Pointless game. I love tricky puzzle games. But this is designed to be pointlessly difficult with no way to figure out the problems without watching ads. Wouldn't recommend.
I purchased the "no ads" in app purchase, there are still ads, and still have to watch ads to get tips. When i click on "no ads" button now, it tells me i have already purchased the item. Also the cost of the in app purchase has been deducted from my google play balance. 5 stars if this gets resolved.
This game is clearly designed to get you to watch ads for hints. It's impossible to solve the puzzles without hints or watching videos. Most of the clues make zero since as they just appear to be random numbers with no reasoning.
Hard is an understatement, almost every puzzle is nearly impossible without the hint system. even WITH the hints, and hours of mental reasoning, the puzzles don't seem to make any real sense.
Its meh. The puzzles are there, but there is no sense of accomplishment after i solve them. The entire levels feels like a random clickfest and impossible to solve without hints. When i solve a level my immediate thought is "ehh ok, maybe if you squint really hard, but nah" The level design is based on absurdity. The code is "time" because the branch on a bush is in the shape of a sword. Its not obvious in any way. BUT HEY! Its a puzzle game, insanely hard. Only a broken puzzler would be harder.
