Media Rewards
Media Rewards processes audio frequencies captured by the microphone while running in the background, so you can keep using other apps while participating in the research program. The app collects data about when and how you’re exposed to advertising. It allows you to share your anonymous data automatically in exchange for monthly rewards or a chance to win cash prizes.
The app matches audio patterns from TV and radio advertisements within proximity of your smartphone and matches those with the stored ones in the database. Don’t worry, it won’t affect your privacy or daily battery life. Nobody wants that.
We take the privacy of our users very seriously and go the extra mile to protect it. To qualify for rewards the app needs access to your device's microphone. Audio is never recorded or saved. It enables the app to measure your exposure to our media advertisements and content. It is not able to match voices or other audio. It can only match the unique patterns in audio frequencies of advertisements.

So easy to use and earn points. All you have to do is let the app run in the background and it automatically gives you points that you use to be entered in to win cash prizes and surveys that pay $10 each. You receive your survey payout on gift cards of your choosing a few days later. My only complaint is that sometimes I have to go back in and manually turn it back on after it's been in sleep or power saving mode. Other than that (which isn't a huge deal) it's awesome!
I've been using this app since August 2021 and have so far received gift cards from 6 surveys I've completed. Recently, I've missed the opportunity to receive 3 gift cards. Once I click on the survey link, it then says "Start," but once clicked, it tells me I've already taken the survey. I've sent multiple emails with no response so far. I've also reinstalled the app but am still unable to take the survey. I've read other recent reviews dealing with the same issue.
Definitely a good concept and and execution .In ten days ,I haven't got a survey or a reward.I like the app, doesnt interfere with the working of ur phone. Almost a year has passed but I havnet got a single survey or rewards though I am always running it. Disgusting! I was really optimistic about it but it just doesnt work, ie, no surveys and no rewards
So disappointed with this App. My daughter has it and gets lots of surveys. I haven't had a single one! It seems that despite being in the top 2% of people on the App, there is no benefit to this and all that happens is my battery drains more quickly. No response, so I have now uninstalled the app.
Update: I've won 2 gift cards since leaving that review, for taking 2 surveys. They are extremely easy, like 5 questions multiple choice. The gift cards are only for $10 each, but you can pick any kind. They also have random drawings for higher gift cards monthly. They send messages of the winners, so we know it's legit. Definitely recommend!! Thanks! ----- I haven't won any money yet but earning points. I'll give this a few weeks & update if I do/update if I dont.
The app itself runs well, it's mostly unobtrusive so it isn't the app that's the issue. The problem is that after 160 days of having this app on 24/7 @10x and consistently being @ top 1% I have only ever received one survey where it seems I might have won something but the message was so poorly written that it sounded like this: "You earned this...maybe...and if you possibly did win then you may or may not get the money you may or may not have won." 🤷♀️ Uninstalling.
Not worth your time. The app itself is unobtrusive, but it will definitely decrease your battery life. It will also using roaming data freely, so diaable it before you roam. The main issue though, is lack of rewards. You allow the app access to your data, your microphone, and all kinds of things for a RANDOM draw. I've used it for 4 months, and received absolutely nothing. The bonus surveys have never materialized, and the random draws are a terrible system. AVOID.
Updated 28 February. i started month off on 1 percent finish the month on bottom 4 percent. So not happy. App has frozen 3 times Not happy with the app. Been with them for about a year. Seemed to be running quite quickly through the levels at first. Now I keep losing my level. Also have never won anything. I even had the app totally freeze up on 1st February. I had not received points from night before they then took my points and sent me down 2 levels. Very disappointed with this whole process.
App keeps going inactive and I can't figure out why. I've not got low battery, all permissions are allowed, during 'do not disturb' mode at night I've got an exception for the app to carry on running and yet it's still saying it is "off" rather than "live", during the middle of the day whilst I've got the TV on, I'm browsing on my phone and playing games with ads yet nothing is being recorded! ☹
The app is pretty invasive and effects operation of hello Google and other voice activated controls. It draws the battery quite a lot and so far, only a week or so, I'm not sure if it's worth keeping. The FAQ doesn't help when you need to use hands-free operation to use voice controls, they should fix this. A guaranteed reward after shorter period would encourage me to stick around.
I've been in the top 3% since the day I registered in September 2020 and have absolutely nothing to show for it. I have tried to contact the teams (incl. Beatgrid Media) on multiple occasions but have received no response or even acknowledgement of my emails. The app uses so much of my battery even though they say it won't. The app also goes into battery saving mode at such random times, I actually wonder if the points are given in any methodical way or if it's completely random. Uninstalling.
App seems good have had it running for a year (I think) have yet to win any big rewards, apart from the payment from the survey site for keeping it installed for continuing amounts of time. (which is good to earn). You can easily forget you have it installed which is good as it doesn't interfere with normal phone functioning.
I can't really give it a positive review at this point. As far as I can tell, their claim that it's not adding to my battery usage as it runs in the background is true. Who knows about their assertion that they're only collecting certain types of data out of the recorded audio. Of course that feature can be disabled. Until I can confirm that I'll be fairly compensated and they fix the issue with the microphone being hijacked and inoperable, 3🌟best I can give.
This ap is a scam. They change the rules whenever they want and simply don't pay the rewards they say they are going to. They are just getting the info for nothing and hope you don't uninstall it. I am going to report them as i have had months of activity with them and let it go to see what happens. An absolute scam. You have been warned! 2 payments made in 4 months. Both incorrect. No payments for surveys done. Mid last year they decided to just cancel all prize draws for a few months.
Clearly thia app is a scam. It goes into power save mode in the middle od the day when I have 75% battery and it's plugged in. It sleeps at nighy even when I'm clearly watching something on my phone. It says I'm listening to music and earning points in a decreased capacity when I'm watching videos on YouTube. It stops running randomly and bogs my phone down BADLY but not consistently so as to adjust the pattern or work around it. Also, strange things pop up rabdomly when it's on and often my pho
Been a member for a year with no issues at all but now every survey they send me to earn the £5 Amazon voucher just keeps telling me I've already completed it when I haven't. I've messaged multiple email addresses numerous times but nobody ever responds to me, I don't know what to do anymore and am fed up of asking them for help and just constantly being ignored by them. I don't seem to be the only person experiencing this problem either. It's very unprofessional and they don't seem to care
I am only leaving 2 stars for now. I need to change this rating later, if I end up winning or getting anything. I believe I installed the app more than a week ago and although my points have accumulated and increased, nothing has actually happened, in terms of a reward. This doesn't mean the app does not payout. This merely means I have not reached that particular point.
Just barely started using the app so can't give it a full 5 stars! But good so far no issues with battery draining, doesn't mess up other apps that I've noticed anyways..... Easy to download quick to fill out required into open up the app leave it on in the background and go about ur day!!! Already got over 300k able to get top prizes and all other below!!! Hopefully i win something that would be awesome!!! Also get to do surveys but I've only received 1 since I've downloaded... Update if I win!
This app is alright so far. I've had it for about 8 months now and I've never been one of the winners drawn for the monthly 50$ gift cards. But after having the app for around 3-4 months I was beginning to wonder what the point of having it was but then I got a message that I was picked for a survey. I did the survey and I did receive the 10 dollar gift card for that. Since then I've completed 3 surveys. Also,doesn't drain your battery and you don't even notice it running in the background.
I'm a skeptic. However, this app has proven me wrong. It is, by far the only app I've ever downloaded that actually does what it says. From battery usage to rewards and you earn by essentially doing next to nothing on your end. I've been rewarded several times already and it's be painless. I'm hoping to be a bigger winner soon! WHY NOT HAVING AN HONEST POINTS SYSTEM THAT REWARD ALL PARTICIPANTS?? Load of free extra data!! - After a month, got the promised £5 voucher BUT also 2, not 1 (as previously told), surveys which average should be £0.75. So much for the fiver rewarded! - - - - - - What is left now is for them to collect as much data as possible and almost... for free! I don't have much hope for these monthly prize draws.... I prefer points system or sim. that get me something for real other than hope. Seeing the date at the end of Nov for a tiny change to win.... - - - - - - - The app works fine but I will uninstall it.
At first I thought this was a scam but I've had it over a yr and know it's legit. You earn points while it runs in the background. More points = higher levels. Higher levels qualify for surveys, that pay $5-10 (usually $10) and chances to win $50. Every month there's a bunch of $50 drawings. You can win $100 or $1000 too. I've done one $5 and four $10 surveys and I just won one of the $50 drawings as well! Be sure to check the disable unused app setting. I missed several months before realizing.
