Media Scanner

If you just transferred some media files to your device and they are not showing in the database(galleries, music players...) Media Scanner could help you. Media Scanner forces Android to do a full media scan based at the path you chose and then it updates Android Media Store database with the new items. So basically this application will search for all media files on your device and update your Android media store. Updating media store will fix some of your applications which can't see your media files. This problem is most seen on Android KitKat.

YOU MUST DELETE ANY FILES NAMED ".NOMEDIA" IN ANY FOLDERS YOU WANT TO SCAN FIRST! This app only TRIGGERS a scan but some apps (like Facebook and whatsapp) use a system file called ".nomedia" to hide folders from a media scan. Use a file explorer app to find and delete them

It used to work perfectly fine, whenever I restarted my phone, it always read the old contents first and saved them as recent, this app used to fix that, now it doesn't. It reads the files but do not fix them.

Works nicely. Using this app was the only way I could find in order to resolve the annoying Android problem, where media files are not updated in its internal DB. Wish this app was redundant, but as long as Android keeps behaving this way - this app is required.

Very nice, worked for me on Galaxy S6 running 5.1.1 like a charm. Two things to make it better: (1) Allow/store more than one scan-path (2) Automatically trigger a re-scan whenever something get mounted/unmounted on those scan-paths.

I have to know the path by name to scan in a different directory than the default one. when I do change the path the app searches in the default directory anyway.... no way to stop the scan. full screen ad.
