Very thorough and informative. I've gained comfortability from this service. Cross referencing should be an automatic action to make certain the knowledge sought after is factual and accurate for whatever reason(s) for the inquiry. Sometimes critical situations occurs and time doesn't allow verification. If you do not know the information already & only a few seconds for one source.... This would be #1. Thanks for this service!
1. Beautiful, but it needs a dark theme, like with white text on a black background. 2. The bibliographic info appears at the end of each definition, in text of the same color and nearly the same size as the definition itself, making it harder to discern between that and the definition. 3. As on all Farlex apps, when an existing definition is open and you click into the search field it does not clear the previous search query
Awesome app! Literally has everything any medical professional would possibly need for proper research. Even includes medical terminology word parts, root words, and even combining forms! Ads do pop up but always include a close button so I can get right back to work quickly. Fantastic! Love it!
I downloaded this app for going through EMT school, and it has been awesome so far. The definitions are straight forward, the amount of definitions and terms is surprising, and the customer service is exceptional. I would definitely recommend this for anyone going through basic or intermediate medical classes.
I used to have Blacks on my Lumia 950 but Blacks app on Adroid doesn't get a high rating. This dictionary appears to be very comprehensive and the interface is pretty good. You pay only €1.29 to get rid of ads. I'm not employed in the medical sector but I think this app will be very useful for personal use and my public sector job.
Overall, this app is very helpful especially to medical students like me. However, it would be very good if the app could give is trivias every day. Having a feature like "word of the day" would be of great help for added knowledge. Please consider my suggestion. Thank you
The only thing I can possibly suggest is if the search bar automatically cleared itself when you try to search for another definition. Otherwise it's perfect!
very easy and very usefull app. in many nursing books i have noticed that they were written by the assumption that you already know the definition of something and in medical which is huge it was not always necessary that you know everything. when you don't know something and the book you are searching don't have either then you have to search another book but this app had already solve my that problem.
Very easy to use and understand, gives you an overview( symptoms, causes and treatment for most of the words/ conditions or medical term as the case may be.)contains so many medical terms I never thought would be included in a dictionary. In addition its free.I would give it 6 stars if it was possible.
I like it but there are no onetime offline-download for full offline use (at least for the text contents). And no night mode for less eyestrain while reading or studying on dark room.
It's really helpful and it gives you a clear understanding of whatever medical condition, medical term, any thing that has to do with medical stuff, Nursing or anything. The signs and symptoms, causes diagnostic investigation, management, and complications etc everything is explained well.
This app is more up to date and helpful than others I have used. It is also more thorough and educational, but with ease of understanding. Good for layman and professional alike.
I love the app. it's pretty good. I feel the interface could be worked on though. A little more friendly UI. All the same, brilliant job guys.
This is a very good dictionary. But it can be made better if offline download option is provided with references from Oxford, Merriam webster, Stedman, Taber's medical dictionary. Waiting for the new updates. Thank you.
Love this app. I am not a medical student by any chance neither do I work at the hospital but I really do enjoy using this app when I want to find out about medical related things. Great app!! Especially when you are a medical student or someone studying medicine.
Great app, however book marks are very hard to see; background light and font's are white. Need help in changing font's color and)or the background?
Got about two medical terms into my coding course before this dictionary came up dry for the meaning of most of the medical terms. Maybe good for high school but not sufficient for professional education
I have only looked up one word so far but it worked reall well... However I'm actually in the Hospital for next 6 weeks and the one word I've heard several times, The one that I actually put this app on my phone for, it DID NOT have that one word...
This is awesome! There is no terminology I've looked for that wasn't available in their database. Excellent explanations and sometimes illustrations.
Very comprehensive. Provides more data then is needed. I never expected such an elaborate description of a disease or an ailment and appropriate treatment options
This is the BEST medical dictionary app I've found so far (and I've downloaded quite a few). Better than my terminology books and everything else I physically own. Love it.
2 stars because u say it was free then when finish download u see in app purchase & i dont even use it 1time yet,but im going to see why u r charging to use it,uf it worth paying for then i will pay depend on how much you charged for what i get out of the app. Then i will give my honest rating. I USED SEVRAL TIME & Relize it is very good so i update my rating, But if i may sugest can you update for prounounceation of words & also it would be a ++ if you can make it reads the subject. TY.
Just I used this app and How much I'm happy after using this app I can't express. I found my word meaning in a few seconds in this app the word which I had been searching from last a week in many medical related apps but I couldn't get. This app is amazing and truly helpful. Thanks a lot.
I would have wished for more words to included in the offline dictionary as to lessen how many times one has to be online to get necessary information. It's a good dictionary otherwise.
Excellent. Extremely informative. I am now able to much better understand what a friend, family member, neighbor or myself has been diagnosed with. This is very comforting. I no longer have to ask embarrassing questions. This is a 5 Star app and a keeper in my household. Delighted.
I had a surprising illness that I've never entered into questioner section of this app nor have any need to receive information on. It appears that my device was used by one of several friends whom I trust. I thought this came to be and got upset due to the surprise of the bogus illness that I had never looked up. I'm apologetic to Fairfax for posting a bad review & rating. The app is a 5* and very helpful.
Downloaded this app only recently. When I looked up my newest prescription (hormone tab), dictionary found neither the medical nor the generic names. I've deleted this app, and am seaeching for one that is actually up-to-date.... (Copyright on this app is 2006-2021).
It provides thorough explanation of the term, loved it. It also mentions the references from which the definition has been taken. Worth it.
I was looking up medical terms for definitions. The app worked very well but quite a few words were not listed.
It has all of the definitions that one would expect. The problem is that even though it is an offline dictionary, it is constantly trying to connect to the internet when I am looking for the definition of a word. Once I turn my internet off, then it brings up the definition automatically. This is very annoying and needs to be fixed. If it's an offline dictionary, then be offline.
