Very smooth set up for the owl from my Android phone. When the Own is physically connected to my windows 10 surface I can use it for meeting. I cannot find a way to wirelessly through my network, or bluetooth to connect to the OWL. It seems to require a physical USB connection in order to operate. The App did not enable this to happen. There is no app in the Windows store for my surface. Windows 10 can see the OWL ID through wireless 'add device's search, there is no pairing process enabled.
I don't leave a lot of reviews, especially 1 stars, but this product as a whole is so bad I have to go out of my way to say something as the app alone crashes all the time. The physical Owls reset themselves whenever they feel like it, including in the middle of a meeting. The app never works, it will set an unchangeable password on the Owl. Even if I want to change said password I have to actually use the app, which crashed when I: Select, change name, open app, find, or go to help desk on owl.
It would be better if there were the same options got into the desktop app. Pairing devices together requires the app.
The app can't handle captive portals. If the developers just added a simple web interface to login to a portal this would be fixed. We're talking three lines of code. The app is hindered by the work of unskilked, lazy developers.
Device is generally unreliable, but using the android version of this app is frustrating. No progress bar or any indication of update progress, so much as even viewing open apps in android causes Meeting Owl to take you back to the main screen which is not something that should be happening on 2021 on android apps that are properly developed.
Pretty good little machine. Works most of the time. When it doesn't want to link up, it is very frustrating. I would say it works well 9/10 uses. If we unplug it momentarily, it tends to reset and work fine.
Absolutely useless! First off, for some reason the instructions tell you to plug the camera into your computer. But there's no software for the computer. You have to download an app for your phone. After downloading the app, I was able to see the device but it wouldn't connect to it. It kept saying I needed to connect to wifi. But I was already connected to wifi. Whoever developed this completely failed on so many levels. Not worth the 1k price tag.
Excellent machine. Easy to set up then it runs in the background. The app makes it easy to fix the camera on a presenter then go back to 360 degrees for question time. Thoroughly recommended.
App is not stable on android most of the time unable to find Al devices
Great app, waiting on additional features for Android, such as ability to save defaults like no pano without having to turn it off manually every time.
Not very helpful. The controls don't allow for much zoom. It also generates a dialogue box if you don't use it for 30 seconds and you have to start all over again from the beginning. Time consuming if you are using in a classroom.
Can't think of anything good to say. Sometimes works, mostly not. When it works it crashes or functionality randomly comes and goes ....
Not plug and play as described and Underperformed for the exhorbitant cost. Wouldn't recommend so far for academia. Far cheaper and more reliable alternatives
Should not timeout and force reconnection when you are manually controlling the connection. Should allow screen timeout to return to where you were when you wake the screen again.
It does not find the owl, so completely useless. And, one cannot use the owl without registering, which is really infamous. Like buying a car, which you cannot drive then :(
Why are you stealing my time and attention with this trash? This device does not need an "app" and is much worse as a result. It's not even portable . Trash.
Pretty much useless. Takes way too much setup time when moved from room to room.
Have gone through registration 4 times. Keeps asking to register each time Owl is powered on.

It's the best!
Setup was simple for me. However, those that struggle with basic Bluetooth pairing (think phone to car stereo) will struggle with setup. But for the rest of us it is really simple process.
