Bad app. It dosent recognize all of the notes. And once you finish a certain amount of the courses it makes you have to buy premium to keep going to advanced courses. It might be better after you buy premium but it's probably not worth the risk. And also premium is like 6-8$ a month(at least from what i remember) anyways do not waste your time with this app, there are so many others that are better quality. hope this helps.😁

Its getting better but still have some issues like microphone is not accurate even after you calibrate it. Even if your timing is perfect, you will still get kicked out in 3 seconds. Some songs drops and not playable. It can be very frustrating. I just come play in practice mode sometimes since thats the only way to use this app with my phone... If all those problems are solved...this app could be the best guitar apps out there.

Its not bad but as beginner i didnt get to learn some basics like how to change from different frets. The videos are short and you can't revise or go back to a lesson. Once you reach level 3, its up to you to learn and practice. and i find it ridiculous that you have to pay for subscription when you still end up searching on youtube how to train your fingers.

The app does not accurately recognize the notes I am playing. Whether I play lousy or great, it rates my playing inconsistently. The app frequently displays a "Can't load video" screen. Sometimes it freezes when this happens. The app font displays are displayed badly sometimes. Like when I take a quiz and the question is unreadable, scrunched up in a single vertical column on the left side of the screen. I hope these issues are fixed. I'm hesitant to pay money for the app at this point.

Its okay but you have limited access to lessons without paying for premium. I was interested in premium because it has an attractive price but the lack of ability to test out the options available puts me off. Sure I could go for the trial but it's never a trial, the consumer almost always gets charged. If you could trial it without payment details I would have snapped it up and probably continued the service. But for now I'll use an amalgamation of several free apps to learn.

When I open the app, it shows the "Made with Unity" splash, then goes to a blue screen with sparkles floating around and the text, "Welcome to MelodiQ. Thank you for joining us! We prepared a quick tour for you about our main features." Underneath, there's a button reading "Start Quick Tour" that no matter how hard I try, I CANNOT click on. Back button just closes the app, there's no skip option, I can't even see any of the features they tout. App downloaded (and uninstalled) on a Galaxy Note 5.

I just got premium and it's really bad. The app keeps freezing and playing a sound effect over and over. The lessons are slow and the voice is patronising. Every time you press a button you have to wait at least 30 seconds for things to load and the note detection is really out of time and inaccurate. Not worth the money 😒 Edit: complete scam!!! There is no option in the app to restore my purchases.

I love the way it teaches, but it doesn't work! I would subscribe otherwise. im just going through the beginner lesons to see how the app works, but when you get to the chords if you don't hit the chord BEFORE it says to it will NEVER recognize the chord. Between having to go through the lesson 10 times to get it to recognize I'm playing the chord (always after the first time it has you play the chord it starts having issues) and the force closing, makes it a useless app. I'll find another app.

App is OK with being freemium and the available songs are good for beginners. However I find that the fact that the app no settings for sorting delay for the songs (for easier timings on songs) makes it worse than other apps which aren't as freemium. If a delay option ever gets added (as this is a music input app) then it'll probably do better in the future.

Terrible dont spend your money on this app. The visual aspect of it is not in time with the music being played. Not like that even matters though because you can go throught the whole song perfectly, but no matter what kind of guitar: acoustic, or electric, or how loud your amp is, the app wont pickup the notes. An awesome idea poorly executed.

Interesting concept with high potential, but unfortunately the 7 day free subscription is either bugged or they intentionally scam users. I started a free 7-day trial and my account was immediately charged. I thought I might get my money back after I cancelled, but unfortunately that was not the case. I Cancelled the subscription on day 6 and never got my money back. I reported the issue via email, but never received a reply :(

lot of latency from when i pull the string and hear it on my headphones, slso the app seems to caliberate on the phone without the headphones and goes on to use the mic on the headphone, might be a probable cause not sure. but the latency issue makes it hard to use. edit: increased rating because nice devs, waiting for the new version.

I love this app so much, the idea and how it works how it set tasks but after using this app near enough every day for a good few weeks it's now not even opening at all, I click on the app and it opens to a black screen for a second then goes straight back off, I want to continue using this app but I currently cant and if the issue is not fixed I will have to cancel my subscription, I hope this issue is resolved.

This all in all is a great app however i!'m not sure if that's how it really works but when i was playing i notice that to perfect the score, you will need to hit the string at the very beginning of the note in the app. You will miss if you hit the string at the center that 1 inch long number 3 note even if you know you hear it correctly.

why I gave 5 stars, bcz I want this app improved, now let me share my experience. this app is very nice and clean, and interesting. songs difficulty steps by steps, but it too simple to setup where a new beginner should start, and pick up both accurate sometimes. no left handed mode. the most important is picking up problems. I really want to subscribe this, pls improve.

Edit 2: it still keeps freezing! Like earlier I opened the app- nothing worked. Can't scroll, can't click, can't do anything. It just stays on that upper portion of the main page of the app. I have to reinstall it over and over again to get it function. Edit 3: SWEET MOTHER OF JESUS! Now when I reinstalled it, it doesn't even let me tap to start the convo with the bot! AaAaAaaaaaa

Not good, doesn't work as it should. I was a beta tester for this app a few years ago, and when it official came out as a paid subscription, I uninstalled the beta app as when testing, the app was awful and forgot about this app. I recently had an ad come up in another game for this app and decided to give it a try again, figuring that hopefully they have worked out most of the problems. I installed the app and was offered a 7-day FREE trial, which I obviously choose to do, except, I was charged for a year's membership instead. I have reached out to UG several times explaining this and requested a refund, but unfortunately, I never heard back from them. I would mind as much if the app worked, and now as I write this review, I can see they have not updated this app since 2019. Pretty disappointed in UG, they need to do better.

i love the tab app and therefore want to love this. i bought the premium version. there are some fun bits, but its missing some big areas... - songs lack time signature at the beginning and lack any visual cue as to down or up strum like there is on tab app or sheet music. youd learn a song but only sort of. - you cant test out of skip lessons for stuff already known - song list is pretty small. filtering or searching in the app doesnt work... - you cant save a song for repeat playing...

Sam. D. Sep 4, 2019

While playing the songs, the app seems to have a problem with picking up the notes as it's playing on beat and in key. I understand that using headphones helps but even when I pluck my strings loud enough and even place my phone right in front of me, the microphone doesn't pick up any of it.

Dio. P. Apr 21, 2020

Loved the UX but had some issues with the close buttons not working making me stuck in some screens. Also, this was suggested after checking Yousician but it seems it is for guitar only and bass isn't supported. Wasn't clear from the beginning so I kept going until I noticed it was guitar only. Wasted my time. You still get 4* for the cool UI.

Dav. E. Apr 17, 2020

Just add a search box to find the songs you wanna play and a favourite button to save them, and you'll get the 5 stars, the app rocks and you should be able to take Yousician if you keep all those songs and keep adding more! They totally lost the confidence of their users removing the songs!

Ash. B. Jul 10, 2019

I couldn't do anything. After the intro was over I tried to start the lesson and it wouldn't start no matter how many times I pushed the button. So i tried to play a song so it told me it had to calibrate before I could play but it wouldn't do it; I took out my earphones from my phone but the button wouldn't work. After 3 or 4 times of trying I just uninstalled the app.

SF. U. Jul 7, 2019

This app is rubbish. It doesn't recognize half the notes I play on my Ibanez acoustic guitar (it would recognize an open high E string no matter what I did. One of the first exercises! ), and those that it does recognize I half to play before the beat for them to be counted. Totally defeats the purpose of having a practice app. I sure as hell wouldn't pay money for this!

CXI. Jul 14, 2019

this app is bad for beginners because after you get through the beginner lessons (how to hold a guitar, how to tune a guitar, how to pluck the strings) theres nothing else in terms of starting off you just have to throw yourself at a song and hope your good enough to play it. or you could buy a subscription to it but in my opinion if i was going to spend money i would take an actual lesson

Par. May 25, 2019

It's a nice app I guess, but there are a few too many bugs and overall, it's just not the best way to learn guitar. Plus, the calibration on the phone speaker doesn't translate to the headphones (but maybe that part is just an issue with my phone)
