After toying with perhaps 10 other apps, I chose this one. After a few weeks I was able to identify intervals in pop songs on Spotify. The key advantage is that Meludia combines the best of functional ear training (due to the continuous sounding of a drone note) and relative interval training (since I sometimes rely on the distance from the previous tone to find my place). On top of that, there are a profound number of exercises with an expertly designed ordering and increase in difficulty.
I really like meludia. I remember when it was released as a web browser based game: there were so many WONDERFUL and DIVERSE music games to choose from in order to hone different aspects of musical skill. I was so impressed with those! Will you be putting those into the app at some stage? The subscription fee for it was quite beyond my price range at the time, but I like that the app is affordable. Some of my students used it, to, and found it worked really well for them, too.
Bug 2 - when I intend to replay the original melody and miss the replay button by a bit the app quits the lesson into lessons menu. Bug 1 - when in practice (barbell) mode - the practice settings revert to its default setting after the phone is switched into the standby mode and back. This breaks the practice flow when practicing "on the go", i.e during the public transport commute, or in other situations, when I have to pause the practice and put the phone away for a few moments.
interface bugs appear mostly resolved. app runs much faster, more reliable, less lag and battery drain. last bug: notes entered during melody replay disappear. suggestions: repeat whole phrase: user should be able to tap between levels to repeat the phrase in all situations (success, mistake, final mistake). custom practice mode: should allow user to practice any combination of tones learned up to that point and choose lowest note without having to hunt for a specific level.
Pretty great so far but I'm also getting the bug where it thinks I have no internet. Because of this I can't move beyond round 5 in any category. Have tried wifi and phone data. I would consider paying for the full thing because the jump in difficulty from the first category to the second is pretty big...however I don't have the option to. I'm on a Pixel 2, don't have this issue with any other apps and there's no permissions settings limiting this app.
pretty good app for dictation of short melodic phrases, as far as i see unique call and response game (tell me if there is another)! what make this app great is musicality of drills. very well done design and levels structure. ideal for becoming familar with notes=degrees thinking. so there is no sequences, nor modulation nor harmonic changes. does anybody know an app that not based on notes=degree pazzles, but on intonation=interval philosophy?
I really love the app because it's all I've been looking for, but its really upsetting that everytime I try to buy the complete version or even tap on the Purchase Cart icon it's shows no internet connection. I've tried the app on different devices and the same issue still arises. Please it would be grately appreciated if this is fixed as urgent as possible Thank you
Good idea, however the thing does not allow me to tap tones before the melody finishes, therefore leading to garbled input. Also, if I miss, it does not show correct tones most of the time.
I was curious to see the prices of lessons but it says that I don't have Internet connection (I do have internet connection). This instantly makes the app unreliable.
It won't let us purchase the full app, it says we don't have internet. I've tried on wifi and 4g. Fix this and I'll update my review...
this app is great.it actualy helps you to inprove your music.i started a week and a half ago and me and my brother love it. 5 stars. just wish we had access to more levels
I just want to purchase the full version. Like others I'm just getting "no internet connection"
if im paying for a subscription from the website I should have access to the full app without having pay again.
good concept, but there's not much you can learn without paying....
there is too much lag between key press and sound
The best ear training app by a mile
Is it possible to keep our progression and our complete offer bought if we change smartphone ?
This is GOLD.
best app
Meludia is awesome. I have definitely seen my skills improve with app usage. I wish there was a play mode that the number of notes increased but the speed did not change. I can remember these long patters but because of neurologic issues I do not have the motor skills to type it in so fast.
That's an amazing app, but some minor tweaks would make it perfect. Please add an option to show the name of the scale which is used in the level :) And secondly make an option to stop before proceeding to next challenge after a successful one. Great job!
Good app, but it would help to be able to modulate the key.
Thank you for such a good learning experience!
Great idea.. I loved it
Great app, but for the price I was expecting a bit more variety. The Meludia web app is incredible and I was hoping to see more similarly between the two.
Great way to keep ears sharp. Would suggest more game variations. That would set you apart from the other apps.
So annoying that you don't know how to spell simple intervals. A minor 3rd up from G is B flat, not A sharp. Its as if the app was developed by someone who doesn't understand the language of music. Why are the levels not incorporated from scales ??? There's nothing revolutionary about it. Its just a relative pitch drill by someone who is apparently clueless. Its a simple fix.sort the Spelling's out and learn how to derive melodies from scales.then it would be great, but overpriced compared to my favorite ear training app which does a lot more and for a lot less!!! The app crashes on my tablet if I use it for more than a few minutes. Can I have my money back please? Eric A# and Bb sound the same. They are enharmonic. But they are spelt differently for a reason. G to A# is an augmented 2nd. G to Bb is a minor 3rd. Its OK if you don't understand. The developer of this app doesn't get it either.
Get functional ear trainer. Learn to always hear the final center in your head. This isn't good, it doesn't play tonal center!
The idea of the application is great but the execution is bad. There are minor issues with the UI; scrolling could be more precise and some elements aren't properly displayed on the screen. When trying to upgrade to the full version the application shows a prompt of "no internet connection". The last issue is the most pressing. (the current version being from September 2018 this might never be fixed, which is a bummer)
