Loved the game, played it for years off and on. It's like a Pocket FFT. I heard there are issues with red bars blocking text. However I recently reopened the game, and my phone has no such issues, the game is just as good as ever. (Interesting note, if you click on the studio name above, there's a list of Japanese versions including a sequel... But not available to USA.) UPDATE: they updated the US version, just bug fixes, but it's still worth the play, lots of end game+ material

Look. Temp save in the battle. The game will randomly close out and you'll just be SoL for the past 20 minutes. The controls are a little wonky to get used to (there's an exponential ramp on touch mode) but they're alright after a bit. Overall it's fun and worth it......just save mid-battle or you might risk wanting to hurl your phone across the room.

An excellent tactical RPG in the vein of Final Fantasy tactics. Storyline is decent but a bit cliche. Class options are a bit more limited than tactics with each character having their own set of 7 classes. If you miss an item in the story quests you can't go back and get it. All in all it was pretty enjoyable. My only real gripe would be the 6 char limitation for most of the game only to suddenly require all 10 for the final battle. Needed a lot of grinding to build up the 4 unused chars.

Great game. Bought the full version and played it through all the chapters. The controls were quite odd at first, but I eventually got used to it. The graphic looks nice and the execution of the gameplay is really amazinh. Looking forward for the other english release of the series!

Fun tactics game. I don't understand the low rating. It's a free fun little rpg tactic game. Not to complex and the story is ok but again... It's free... Only thing is i wish i could use a bigger party. I have sever characters but i seem to only be able to battle with 6 at a time, which is classic of tactics games unfortunately. Wish i could bring in more characters.... I hope to see more games like this.

This is a great FFT clone. The story is compelling, if a little cliche, and featuring a good cast with believable motives. Character art is nice and the style is so evocative of FFT it would be easy to confuse them. There are a few differences in gameplay worth noting: The turns are more like xcom than fft: all of your team moves and then all of the enemies move. There is some customization options, but the job system is much more limited. buy and enjoy!

Reminds me of the good old times with clunky, grindy, and cheesy tactical/ strategy rpgs. However cliche the game plot is, I love the cast, and looks to have replay value. One thing that reminds me of my rpg itch that cant be scratched...there is red bars in place of text, of this mobile version. Message to the Tabletoppers: Just get this on the 3ds. Also, The 3ds also has the third game available.

Graphical error. So every bit of text in this game, from start up, has a red bar covering the words. I cant see any options or read any text because of the bar. I also purchased the full game and the bar is still there.

Text won't show on Android 8.0 and after contacting them the said Android has many phones and may not work on all of them. 8.0 is almost the latest version of the Android and they also said the have no plans in updating the software. It's a waste of your time and money.

A fun tactical rpg that works well on mobile. The story is pretty shallow but the game play is good. I would advise raising search to max as soon as you get it and looking for at least 1 trade card on each story level they are needed for final class unlocks.

When I installed the English version, no text was visible -- only red bars that apparently covered lines where text should have appeared. I see in other negative reviews that other players have experienced this glitch. I do hope the developers fix this.

game could be good but there is a gamebreaking bug that prevents it from being played. all the text is covered by a red bar, making everything unreadable, including the options page. please get this fixed

One of the best tactical games on android, lots of content, different story branches, class based tactical combat, its just great. Buy at the end of the dau its just a cheaper FFT... and I loved every second of it

Good story but poorly paced, by chapter 5 battles are so unbalanced you MUST grind to get further which is boring. Interface isn't great, but it is a port of an old Java phone game so fair enough, at least they added touch. Could have been much better.

Exactly the kind of game I'm always looking for. Truly made in the classic turn based strategy style. No card gimmicks, no stars, no micro transactions. Just a fun game.

Quite good. The only issue is that there's no auto battle. And no speed up auto battle obviously. So we have to do everything manually. But for everything else. It's perfect.

in Mercenary Saga 2, the player takes on the RPG role of prince-rescuer in a political plot to usurp the throne. the battle/character system is most akin to Final Fantasy Tactics Advance (gba version) which is a pleasant surprise. you will find you need to grind a few extra battles to evolve your classes. enjoyable time spent, great ride for the price. no sound, so put some headphones in and play some tunes. oh, and one more thing. get used to the cursor- it's worth it!

The text glitch has been removed, great! Would you be able to add swipe to other characters in other menus as well? Such as skill menu? Also, would there be a chance to add rotate battle screen?

Good game, how nostalgic I already played similar game in PS1. By the way for advice you can retry free battle for reset available option of blue equipments in shop. Just choose what's could benefit you and don't forget to synthesis any blue accesories. :-)

I once played this long time before.. It was pretty good n i finished the game.. Now i want to play it again but the words are replaced by red line.. Probably because of the incompatibility with current android.. Well it WAS a good game tho.. Will be happy if the team can update the game to be compatible with current android version..

The Mercenaries Saga games are very much in the vein of Tactics Ogre or Final Fantasy Tactics. I enjoy it very much. If you like tactical RPGs this has basically got all the boxes ticked.

No longer works on newer versions of Android :( If was fun what I played of it before getting a new phone but now it's unplayable - all text is covered by red bars.

I can only give 1 star, honestly this game has a huge potential however evrything ruins everything. UI design is so bad. Portrait srsly? What is this? Even candy crush can be played in landscape. You have to be in front of a treasure chest to open, nice logic btw waste of turns when you are next to it.

really good game, story, learning curve, new game plus features. Please add the rest of the series people will definitely pay for it.

I sorry but I can not play this game with nothing but red text block covers up all the word like as soon as a load up I see that red text box and this phone I got have no trouble with other game I play on it so why this one have problem I was about to give this a try but how it is now I can not get pass the 1st fight without the text tall me what to do

Couldn't read anything.... the only thing readable was "buy the full game and #6 until free trial" everything was under a red bar of some sort fix it first maybe then ill consider trying out again ....

I played the game a few years back and loved it but when I redownloaded it all the texts have red bars over them. Completely unplayable
