As the Merchant, you are the commander of your own domain!

Blending together traditional RPG systems, tycoon mechanics, and a fantasy overworld, Merchant aims to reimagine the traditional mobile RPG. In Merchant, players take the role of a shopkeeper who must manage a team of Heroes and Crafters. Heroes are sent out on quests in order to fight enemies and gather materials. Crafters then use those materials to create weapons and armor. As the shopkeeper, players must balance their micro-economies between selling items for gold and crafting items to better ensure success for the Heroes.

I honestly can't count the hours I've spent playing this game. I have stopped several times and I always go back to it because it's just plain good. The cloud save makes it easy to transfer from phone to phone or even to your computer. The in app purchases are completely optional but add a lot of content if you feel you've finished the game (they are permanent upgrades) and the community online is always ready to help if you have any questions.

Quite the fun time waster. There is always something to do here and you will quickly lose count of how long you've spent playing. Training heroes while running a shop was a really fun interaction for a while, but it seemed to cut off pretty abruptly (I never prestiged them). Great if you have a lot of spare time, but can be a huge time sink otherwise.

I was looking forward to playing this game, but it runs automatically full screen, which stretches the pixel art and makes it uncomfortable to look at. I wish there was an option to play at the original aspect ratio.

For the first time, I've found a game that helps to pass some time, but also let's THE PLAYER choose when to watch adds. I CANT STAND when gameplay of apps is interupted by ads because the devs just want cash or put advancement behind a paywall. The devs at Retora got it right. No ads unless YOU want to watch them, and earn some in game currency as well, or revive heros for free. You help us we help you. Anyways, the game is simple, easy and light. Few mins or hours continually. GET IT!

I don't think I've had a bad experience either time I've played this game, especially since aside from the actual DLC, you can reasonably access everything with in game currency. And the fact that anything I buy is permanently mine is (unfortunately) refreshing. The art is great, the prices feel worth it, and the game so far feels like they put a lot of love into this. This feels like a game someone or multiple someones had fun making.

Is a very good game but the balance is a bit off. The wait times become insane towards the later stages of the game. That with the inherent grinding is a but much.

Amazing, game needs countless hours to really get into but once you're there it's phenomenal. Each peace of content challenges you to adapt your strategies or stay stuck. You need to grind each challenge just enough where you get really know and master it but not get sick of it yet. I like the asthetics, character progression super satisfying and weekly content ties it all together. Highly recommended, but know that you need time to get around it.

Display is bad for phones with longer screens. It stretches all the way up to the notch which results in funky looking stretched pixel art.

Specific game, I admit, but honestly I do enjoy it. I would only appreciate some mechanics, of sending heroes on quests automatically/repetitively, while I am not using the game. It might go against the concept of whole idea, so I will let the others to consider, but at some point prices are really high and grind would be needed. Otherwise only thank you : )

This refresh thing popped up over the hero button & it already is full screen and doesn't need refreshing. So it's totally unnecessary & quite annoying. Later tiers could use a greater range of time to better set things up around my schedule, so you could do some shorter things, rather than having to do earlier stuff or not play.

Very captivating game I've played for almost 2 years now! Easy to pick up and put down anytime, playable offline, low battery usage. Although it is free with avoidable ads that are kept to a minimum, paying unlocks bonus content that has kept me engaged for a long time.

Excellent, well balanced, innovative and "own-style-ish" game. Love it and deserves more than 5 stars because it's THE BEST. I spend my money on it with a smile thinking of how much fun I'll have for a fair price even for someone from a 3rd world country - where most games have packages that cost close to a monthly average-citizen wage. 10/5

I give the game a Five star rating because it's so much fun, but I hope that you bring the repeat button or buttons that says "repeat Quest 1 2 3 4 5" to the game. To be honest I find it hassle to do multiple clicking in less than a minute so I would really appreciate it if you would notice my request. Oh yeah I have played this game in my high school days and I truly recommend this game.

I'm addicted to this game. If your a fan of old school, pixel graphics, and management type game then you should try this.

I love this game beyond words. It is an earnest masterpiece in an Era of half-assed garbage phone games. Art is amazing, gameplay is challenging and very fair. Hell, if you were so inclined you can run the numbers for the fights yourself to predict the results. You get what you put in, seriously.

There's a special place in my heart reserved just for this game. Unfortunately, we're still waiting for the sequel, merchant: guilds, which was supposed to come out last year. Near or far, though, I'll still be playing merchant!

Smooth running not forced to watch ads, o yea good to pass time in a place you rather not be at,like a waiting room.

Cra. T. Mar 28, 2022

Not a bad game. Must admit it takes a long time to get my characters to max level.. but it's definitely worth the time.. it's fun and not very demanding like other games with log in every day bonuses.. have to say would be nice tho lol

Joa. L. Feb 4, 2022

I love this game, it's super interactive you can't pay to win and every level is a level you fought for when you've earned, although I would like to see repeat quests to have an option to be automated for grinding options

Sco. H. Mar 11, 2022

I personally found it a bit tedious after a while, but the core concept is fun. It just got to a point where I had like 10 heroes, and manually assigning them every few minutes wasn't fun. The game tries to do a lot of things okay, whereas if l could just focus on one piece I might enjoy it more. Managing the shop was not nearly as fun as watching the heroes get stronger, but it's a bit barebones. Good, just not great.

Surprisingly excellent game, mechanics are just touching buttons and timers but it's very fun and absorbing. Haven't spent any money on it, I'm not 100% sure if the game will continue to be fun at no cost 50 hours in but it does seem like it will be at this rate.

Could you add a way to reset progress, I played a long time ago and want to be able to play without having tons of progress

Tre. Apr 21, 2022

Cannot control battles and the interface is clunky. Just buying, selling, and crafting, in order to sell more, in order to buy more, in order to craft more... etc

Jos. N. Jan 25, 2022

Game is fun and entertaining. Lots of timers and incredibly strategic in the late stages and the highest bosses. It is NOT pay to win. You can play at your own pace, level your heroes and step into the next difficulty zone whenever you are ready. No pvp and no expectation of competing against people who drop tons of money

Cal. P. Dec 9, 2021

It's a great game as is, don't get me wrong, but I raise to you: one, bring back the "repeat" button to tasks so it's easier to just keep your champions on the grind after every successful one; two, add in an option to select how many times a champ will go on a particular quest so it doesn't have to be a game of "wait and go at it again", and they can just come back with the estimated number of loot for however many times you sent them out for.

Chr. B. Oct 26, 2018

It's a cool and charming game with good music. I enjoyed it quite a bit! So much so, that I bought the "unlock all" option in the game. Then suddenly today, and even though I paid 10$ for the mentioned option, after every quest this red button appears, trying to make me sit through a stupid 30sec ad for some ingame money. This button never appeared in the tutorial or at any point else before in the game. The option to watch an ad for ingame gold was always tucked away in some menu. Now it's right there in your face, after every quest with a big red button that pushes the whole quest completion UI upwards. I really hope this is a mistake on my end or that something didn't go through with the payment. If it is not, this is definitely not okay and I would like my money back.
