This is a pretty good start to an adventure game. I only had a few issues. 1) The solution to the lever puzzle doesnt make sense. It's just not how someone would logically interpret the hint provided. 2) The game glitched during the "dream" cutscene and played it twice. Overall though this is a good attempt and I'm looking forward to playing Chapter 1.
I rate 4 stars for the stories and the graphics. They're quite attractive for both. I really like the camera function because it's useful when needing to remember some clues in picture. However, the user interface is a little bit unfriendly since it hard to move from one place to another place just using the back arrow, quite take time for this action. Maybe you should add a map if the place is quite big and enormous.
I liked the free Prologue enough to purchase Chapter 1. Tap and gestures seem a bit difficult, but the mystery and the realism of the graphics are very good. The scenes have many fine details that enrich the environment. Puzzle difficulty is good, but I needed help for the Drawbridge switches. The clue is difficult to recognize and rather difficult to figure out how to use. There should be a little something to help the player realize when he has started to solve it.
Pretty good demo, polished and free of glitches. No issues with hotspots being too small, which is awesome. It has a nice atmosphere and was fun to explore! Puzzles were well designed and challenging, although...I would have liked to see a little more relevance to the environment and plot, which is to say simply hunting for a code or item isn't as engaging as trying to draw conclusions about a character's motives or the function of a machine/system. Still, well worth my time!
Pretty good so far. A map would be more user friendly, but not a dealbreaker for me. I think you could make things a bit more challenging by having more interactives/puzzles, like where & how items are collected. Even some things that don't necessarily progress the story, such as flicking a light switch or opening an empty cupboard....
I really like the graphics on this game. I really like the camera where you can save pictures of the clues so you do not have to jot anything down. The issue i have with this is the puzzle solving. The drawbridge lever system i did not understand so i looked at a walkthrough and passed that way. The elevator switch problem at the end is complete garbage and pressing the eyeglass allows me to solve it without knowing what is going on. Everything else was common sense.
Obviously, many ppl don't know the definition of a "prologue," so your rating might improve by just labeling it a DEMO. Very impressive graphics and fabulous music, but the navigation stinks. Loved the camera feature, but many target items were almost invisible on a cellphone. Luckily the hint system allows one to solve a puzzle, otherwise I couldn't have gotten past the drawbridge. This game needs a lot of fine tuning, so $2 per chapter seems a bit steep.
Very cool! Nice moody, spooky Alaskan Frontier scientist atmosphere. The gameplay is all good, no bad. The last puzzle was spatial relations, real tough, and I just stumbled through the drawbridge levers puzzle and I still don't know how it works but I got through. As for the reviews saying it's too short, it's a preview, a PROLOGUE to the whole game, to see if you like it before you make a purchase. Otherwise, expect excellence!
Very good, I definitely liked it. It's short. It's very basic, just like point & click when I was younger playing MYST. Nice graphics, spooky ambient sounds, intriguing story. I felt that the lever puzzle was too random, the hint offered was a stretch to use effectively. Other than that, I'll be moving on to the next one!
It's a nice game. I like the music, it's kinda relaxing while playing. Makes me wanna know more about the story. I like the animations and you can see some time was put into this. I wish some of the animations were a bit better, one of them was a bit blurry or off towards the end. It gives me a tad bit of vibes of "the room". A series that I love on puzzle games. I hope this games series can show us more, and soon. I would like to see what this game becomes.
Great point and click (or I guess nowadays it's just point and tap 😂) puzzle game. I really enjoyed it. There's enough to get your teeth into without being too hard so that you lose the fun - it's just challenging enough. Basically you tap your way around, finding objects that you will need to progress and solving the odd mini puzzle or two along the way. Graphics are good and gameplay (as in controls and moving about etc) are easy as pie - just tap! Definitely worthy of a download.
Excellent introduction to this new adventure game series! To all those criticising the game for its length, just be aware that this is a prologue, a taster, before the first game releases. I actually found the length of this game to be really good, it took me a few hours to complete it. I enjoyed reading the journal entries and exploring the world. Really atmospheric and a little creepy/unsettling. The puzzles were solid - just challenging enough. Well done, look forward to the first full game!
Disappointing gameplay. I downloaded this game because I've finished all of the (incredible!) "Room" games and this looked similar. There is no comparison. It is no panning view of any areas, only still images. It seems that tasks can only be done in one order. I got stuck and was not able to determine what should/could be done next and the "hint" was the same no matter where in the game i asked for the hint. I gave up before investing any more time. Nice art though!
All in all, a decent point-and-click adventure demo, considering it's free and ad-free. A bit too easy and short, given that most of the puzzles were basically "find and use X on Y" quests and there wasn't much else to interact with. The hint for the drawbridge made little sense, but it was easy enough for me to brute force anyway without help -- weak puzzle design there. I'm unconvinced that the paid chapters will be any longer or more complex for me to want to spend $2 per chapter, sorry.
Absolutely LOVED this game!! It incorporates elements from many other games into one. Played without hints to enjoy the challenge but some of the puzzles seemed impossible to solve and required a lot of help from family and friends (but that was fun, too). It's the only reason I dropped it to 4 stars. Addicting and intriguing...Brief glimpses of ??? compel you to push on--hoping it reveals itself. I could not put it down! I anxiously await Chapter 2 and hope there are MANY more to come.
Great visuals, fun gameplay, bit short but it's free. 2 suggestions though: implement an in game keyboard (instead of using Androids which is a bit jarring) and hide the nav bar. On an OLED screen, at least, it's uncomfortable to play a dark game with a bright white section of the screen glaring at you, and it's immersion breaking as well (same goes for the keyboard).
It's pretty good. I've played much better as far as complexity and animation. The artwork is excellent however and the storyline seems solid. The chapter was too short though and doesn't convince me enough to spend 1.99 on the next chapter, cause how many chapters will there be? 2? 10? You can't expect me to buy into this story when it could end up costing 10-20 bucks or more (if I want to finish the story) Especially when comparable games cost 2.99 to 4.99 for entire story, start to finish.
I've tried all of the Darkness and Flame, NY Mysterious and The Lost Lands games and they were great. This, isn't. The controls are an arrow button, a magnifying glass for hints, which isn't helpful, and no real way to figure out what is going on. Not only that, if I make it through this, I'd have to buy the following chapters to continue. Not happening. Uninstalling.
As it says, it's a prologue to the actual series (for the people who are complaining it's too short...) I for one think it's a great idea to try the concept before paying for the full game. Love the graphics and puzzles and the storyline. Also like the fact that you can play with hints or not. This game reminds me of Myst. Good job to the devs!
Great short TEASER game, basically a free intro to NovaSofts other game. Simple point and click, puzzles, some journal entries to draw you into the story (which I think could've been more, not much to the plot yet). May need to crank up your screen brightness and volume. I'm impressed with how quickly the transition loads as you swiftly move from scene to scene, no lag, no getting impatient about how long it takes to get from points a to b. Looking forward to playing the full Meridian game!
Really great game Would be 5 stars save one issue. Not sure if it's just on my phone (pixel 3), but my standard menu buttons don't disappear in game. They are really close to the main game controls so I accidentally backed out/quit the game several times which was really annoying. Same thing in Meridian 157: chapter one. Genuinely brilliant game otherwise! Hope to see more and hope this issue is fixed.
I'll keep my eye open for the full, complete game in the future. Having played games like Myst, I didn't find this too difficult to figure out. It's a bit eerie, the sounds are nice (didn't feel the need to mute due to annoying repetition) and the game play is smooth. A lot of planning when into this and I greatly appreciate that. Good job on the Prologue.
Classic adventure game, with exploration, collect a few items & use to get to next stage. Good graphical art, and game design made the time fly. Not overly hard (how I like them), & with a nice air of mystery. Story is not unusual so far but fine. (Next part of the story is "Chapter 1" & costs $2 - quite reasonable, & besides, it had equally as good reviews as this Prologue. Playing now & it's great.) Made by only 2 guys doing all design, art, programming & music... Good job, thank you!!
Pretty good. There's one puzzle which you should just use a walkthrough for because the hint / clue provided doesn't actually help you. I wish there were more interactable objects onscreen. Most scenes have one element you can tap on and see a description, tops. Feels like a waste in a puzzle game; interacting with the environment is the whole game mechanic. Regarding this payment model, I totally support it, not sure why people are upset. Way better than addictive monetization formula.
