Merlin: Search for Jobs, Work & Career Listings

Just meh. The interface itself is very simple and easy to use and I thought the whole chat option was really good to connect you with jobs. However the selection of jobs are very small, unless youre looking to look for work in retail, IT or the military, its really hard to get specific with the search. The amount of detail you're able to put in your profile is very limited as well and forces you to only really put the bare basics about your job and responsibilities. Overall this app isn't for me.

I opened the app and stayed on the loading screen, not allowing me to access the features for ten minutes. It is very slow. I do think that with proper support, it has some potential, so I gave it two stars instead of one. (Edit) After an hour or so, the app started working. The app itself is good, though lacking in opportunities for work.

There are so few filters for this app that it's nearly impossible to sift through the jobs I ACTUALLY want. I can't list my skills, or note my experience level, or say what positions I want, and that just makes it more difficult to find what I actually want. The employer responses just seem like bots, and most of the listings are for the US Army or Navy, which I'm not interested in. I would like the app more if it was easier to control, more diversified, and felt more human and less like bots.

An app that automatically sends job offers throughout the area is really great. Most jobs are based on what I've done in the past and give a range of what i could be paid for them. Everything is very well laided out and simple to use. I may change my rating if the filters and search criteria is improved.

The reason why I'm rating this app 2 stars is because the filter options gotten worst, it keep saying "No result" and when it dont it shows 1 or 3 jobs. I actually got several interviews from it but the chance of getting hired is low because a lot of other people doing it too. When you open the app there's a lot of jobs but when you put filter it stays "no result " when match making with your profile because I never gotten a job yet.

I keep trying to apply to jobs that were sent to my email, but whenever I click apply it takes me into the app, and says "the current version of my app doesn't support this feature and needs to update" my app is completely up to date. And then when I go to search for them, they don't come up. Starting to think the jobs are fake.

WISH YOU CAN DELETE MESSAGES!! Not sure why this app doesnt give the option to delete messages! You only have the option to withdraw application. It can be cluttered and confusing and the app is still sending me job messages to places i never even applied to. I have that auto apply feature turned off but yet im still getting auto messages?? Please fix this i dont want my inbox overcrowded.

This app does not match you with jobs well and does not even give you a decent selection of filters. Additionally, the way the app is set up, it makes it very easy to accidentally apply to jobs that you have no interest in. while setting up my profile I accidentally applied to three jobs that I have no interest in.

I love this App! It's so interactive with the messenger service, they automatically apply to jobs that match my experience and preferences and I get a bunch of managers contact me per day. It seems like this app has more jobs that are willing to train as opposed to mandatory experience in many fields and I appreciate that too. I got 2 interviews and one job already through Merlin!

Once I open the app for the first time, I can't make an account or sign in. It keeps saying to click to agree to the terms of service....but there's no box to check that I read and agree to terms of service. I had to sign up through my browser instead.

The app is good at finding job opportunities in the area but I don't think it's for me 😞. With no work experience the jobs here are kind of overwhelming for me 😓. It's still an awesome app for those that have a resume and maybe a little bit of work experience. I would recommend this app to those who are looking for work and don't know where to start.

If I'm being honest your app is pretty trash. Now let me provided my example for why I think this, number 1 it doesnt get rid of job listings that havent been active in a whole year,number 2 it doesnt take into account that the person using he application is trying to get their first job, and number 3 therea no good communication with the employers and 90% of the time they dont responde at all or the job listing doesnt match the filters. Set up everything and there is apparently no one that is hiring in my area. It's a little discouraging. Now I'm mostly job-hunting on foot and checking out company websites. The app doesn't seem to be much help. I do like the format and how easy it was to thow together a resume.

For Highschoolers. This app does not allow you to find jobs to match your resume or what you are looking for. I am looking for medical receptionist position and all I see are jobs for fast food restaurants or sales. Then when you try to search for the type of position they don't have jobs for it. uninstalling.

Just started this app and it is so cool! It helps recognize you for jobs. Especially it even makes a resume for you in the later process. I had no idea it was going to do that but it did. Now the website will get back to me whenever there's a position that a business might consider me for just wow. I'm amazed and it's simple too wow. I would surely spend money inside this app if you were able to. But it's not that type of app. Creative ideas or marketing packages would be fun in this app. Amazed

applied to so many nothing automated text messages the employers was not even active. it cool with how organized with the jobs but wish it had more jobs to chose from. i text back for the just a waste. cool setup up but need stop those automatic messages.only when the employers is actually looking or active then they should push to send those..

1/4/19 - App will not open 1/7/19 - I have reinstalled application and it seems to be running smoothly. I can't give the application a full rating at this present time but very happy that it is functioning. I will return with another update in a few days.

The concept of connecting employees and employers concentrated in new york is great... But I hate how most of these job listings are for the military and you get chat notifications from jobs you never even applied for. Some which I did apply for, it says the employee hasn't been active for about 2 weeks... You should be filtering those out by emailing the job lister to confirm their interests in employing someone and delete it accordingly.

The biggest negative for me is the location selector. If you live in Manhattan and do not drive you are less likely to be interested in work in other boroughs and certainly not New Jersey but there doesn't appear to be an option to filter out the irrelevant items. But there are many jobs posted. The bulk minimum wage. Beware the agency jobs.

This app sucks! Now, I have to answer to the virtual assistant "Claire" everytime I log on. Furthermore, there are barely any positions in a 10 mile radius and the filters don't even help me curate the positions. This is NYC not South of Nowhere. Uninstalling this POS!

Wish there was a zero star option. If you want to be sent emails constantly about being recruited for the US Army, this is the app for you! If not, good luck finding anything else. Just use Indeed, much more professional and more job listings there. Such a disgusting and predatory way for the government to take advantage of people desperate and in need of a job. Shame on this company and on the US Army.

At first this app seemed great. It's easy to use and the jobs shown are somewhat relevant. The issue with this app is that it doesn't comb through which companies and job openings are current. So many employers haven't been active in weeks yet I can still apply to their jobs or get auto matched to their posting. I applied to Five Guys on this app, heard nothing back, went to the Five Guys' website and there was no job posting in my area like the app said. Update your listings

Is this app promoted by the U.S. Military or something? cause first I cant choose multiple positions depending on what I use to do; but once you do all that and get into the job search majority of my job search is all military....IT, Customer Support, help desk seem to all go to military which is weird to me. Also this is the first app that ask its user to use a PDF resume instead of the defaulted .doc/.doc which again is odd. But the app is decent enough.

The app is awesome it has its pros and cons i got a interview within a week of using the app and got hired as well but the app is very slow and crashes it also freezes up but other than that its very easy to use i think its one of the best apps out there....

It's a good idea.. I liked the setup and everything. The only problem was that they had literally nothing in my area. No jobs. I made the search to be 35 miles around my town and still nothing. Tried all different types of searches, different job names... nothing. I don't get it. Indeed shows plenty of work in my area.

I tailored my resume and cover letter and kept getting jobs I either wasn't even remotely qualified for (I have never went to beauty school, why the heck would you give me a job listing as a nail technician?) or were in New Jersey (I am wayyyy too far! Even with the location adjustments I was still getting Jersey jobs!) I got shortlisted by one job and got no calls. Even Indeed gave me better luck despite the recent job scammers pervading that site. Don't waste your time. You'll just get disappointed.

Horrible. App needs tons of work. Weird things happen in this app. I have no idea who is messaging me: is it a Merlin rep or the actual Employer? I get messages from Merlin in my notification bar, open the app to reply and there's no message! No tab to respond to the Merlin inquiry. Random stuff just happens. Old chats reappear constantly on the app's badge on my homescreen and the worst part is, 99% of the jobs listed don't fit my RESUME PROFILE!!! (eg; Hair Stylist, chef, waiter, RN...)

The app crashes when I try to add work experience. Thus the only things I can see job wise are entry level and low paying jobs. I have two masters degrees!!!

Once I closed the app the first time, it didn't allow me back into the app any other time. It was a pleasant experience overall but the fact that I can't access the app whenever is a problem. One star for me.

Hey, since the beginning of using the app I wasn't able to put my number in the application. Whenever J tried to put my numbet it shows error. So how could the employer will message if I can't put my number on the software. I've emailed this issue but no response from you all.
