For a month and a half, I have been unable to access my account through the app or website-- I keep getting messages saying my account DOESN'T EXIST!!!! I have called into customer service for the past month and half and each time they were unable to assist me. I don't know what is happening with my account and I always pay the balance through the app. I have spent hours on the phone with them, including today, being promised I would be transferred to the "right" department or the "security" department but it never happens. Today I was on the phone with them 2 times, one hour the first time and the 2nd for 2 hours for being transferred to the wrong departments. After all of this. they could not resolve the issue, kept insisting on transfering me to the wrong department--the wrong department kept telling me that they can't help me--and when they promised to transfer me to some "elite technology department" I heard the representative on the other line not speaking but I heard noise in the background, then he disconnected my call. This was not only wrong, but it is shady and extremely poor customer service. Imagine trying to pay your bill for a month and a half and not being able to access the account you are trying to pay because according to their website and app YOUR ACCOUNT DOESN'T EXIST??! And no one is actually helping you after you invest hours and almost 2 months into the investigation? Why am I the only one interested in being able to access my account? Why do they not see this as a problem? Why did they keep transferring me to departments they knew couldn't assist me? Why is this hellish nightmare still going on?
Everytime I try to log in with my login and password it always says invalid user. This app can't even be used. I've changed my password over and over again and it still doesn't work. This app is horrible
Lost my job and now that I'm working I'm paying it off. However I noticed they'll mark your payments as late, which is understandable and fine. However they won't report your payments. Yeah that's right I have proof payments have been made and the amount owed has been lowered, and they will NOT report it
Doesn't Even Open 80% of The Time I cannot get the app to open most of the time. I Uninstalled and reinstalled and still have the same issue with full battery and great cell service. When it finally did open, my password no longer worked so I had to reset it. The password is stored in my phone so I know it was correct. Once it's open, it is easy to navigate and do what needs to be done. If an app does not work, it should be corrected before it is placed out for customer use.
Excellent quality credit card and can get cash advance if needed. Payments are not real high. Very good credit builder also. I love it. I also appreciate them taking a chance on me to prove myself again. Thank you for your 5 ⭐ quality service Everytime.
In 4-7-20 the app had a hard time to use now 2 years later the app is functional and easy to use now the auto pay process can act up but problems was fully addressed and fixed. Unfortunately you have to build history with the card in order to get a credit limit raise been 2 years and still have 2k limit, would like to see more flexibility in Credit Limit Raising other than that I appreciate the app and the cards service that it has provided so far. Keep up the good work!🤌
The App is fine. Merrick just never sends updates to Transunion, or Equifax. Only if you owe do they do that!
I think this company is great however the annual fee is not something I like especially if there's no rewards. I would recommend not only for the double your line increase also because it is good just to have as a back up in case you have an emergency come up and to build up your credit as well as this card is meant for that. I never have issues with customer service and I am very happy to do business with Merrick Bank.
So far it's working OK but there customer service needs improved if your having issues with the payments going through and calling they should have a team of people who are capable of fixing the issue over the phone and if you have a dropped call when they transfer you which happened to me two times they should be able to detect that and call you!
Password issues - you have to call in to reset password 🙄 there should be an option to do it on the app. After my password was was changed online I was not able to log into the app after using the correct password. This prompted too many attempts and having to call back in.
This is a very good card to start credit worthiness, and they give you larger than normal startup credit, I was delightfully surprised, but it was not a joke, they gave credit with less than perfect credit scores, really good start up card, I have used it everywhere. I'm definitely pleased with it for sure 😊
I have used the app for at least one year and have not had any problems. Once or twice I could not log in, I just removed the app and waited about 24 hours and reinstalled it. Problem solved, big deal. My payments post on time, the app is easy to use. Good credit card and good app.
Every time I've tried to pay this month, no matter which payment source I choose, the payment gets sent to the wrong bank, and now my account is about to be closed due to excessive reversals, even though I pay in full and on time EVERY MONTH. No contact from Merrick to discuss or even make me aware. No email support or escalation path, phone support is nice but ineffective. I'm annoyed with the app glitch but FURIOUS at Merrick. Seems deceptive. Avoid.
BEWARE: They are a scam, and never actually send you a credit card after you're approved, but report to the credit bureaus that they did, and that you owe them money. They also have shut down their phone customer service, but pretend they still have it. You realize it doesn't exist after holding for over an hour with no one ever coming online. I'm reporting them to law enforcement for fraud.
Don't do it! they promise you 6 months of consecutive payments and they'll give you a double credit limit.* link ur bank acct. Theyll take extra payments and if the funds are not available they will give you another fee ! Try to call and explain you already made your payment and they won't retract the fee.you'll be on hold for over an hr..& if u Press the Option for a return call they will not call you back!!.10 paymnts 6 mon. And not minimum ones the last one was 4x the minimum.
Update: 2/17/22 App still not working when u open the app it's in a loading stage then a message pops up and says sorry the app isn't working retry or close app you guys really need to fix out the bugs in the app I really need to Pau my card and I cant do that if the app doesn't go thru I get charged extra for laying over the phone and im don't with that Since update app doesn't want to open how the hell am I suppose to pay my card now???
I've never encountered any problem with this app. Works excellent for me. Very happy with this app.
This app works great! So far I have seen my statement all the transactions are accurate and added my bank acct to make payments quicky. No phone calls needed. Very pleased with the card and the app.
This app doesn't allow me to login and utilize the platform the way other online banking applications do. For this reason, auto-pay doesn't work. Possibly a tactic, all I know is I will be taking my money somewhere a bit more consumer friendly.
Merrick bank credit card is a horrible card to use. They are not designed to help they are designed to take more of your money keep you making payments with fluctuating interest fees and late fees based off the balance of the card how do you get ahead if there's constant charges on your card. Save yourself the frustration
This card helped build my credit. They did double my credit as promised with 6 months of on time payments. The percentage rate is higher but I knew what I was getting into. I have told friends to give this card a try.
Easy to use and straight to the point actions.
Doesn't give an option to order a new card on app. Just tells you to call a number that NO ONE answers. It says to quickly report lost or stolen card but yet you wait for more than 30 minutes on the phone! I hung up because I shouldn't have to wait that long to report an emergency.
Enjoy the user-friendly nature and convenience.
I accidentally went over my balance and it wasn't held against me not did I get charged extra..At least not that I could tell.
I have had issues for the past 2 weeks. App goes only to a white screen, and website times out. I came here to see if other users had issues, and found out I'm not alone. Another user stated it only works when connected to WiFi. I tried with connected to WiFi, and it worked. Both app, and website. I don't know why it needs WiFi to work, but I'm glad i at least have an option to login and pay my bill. Hopefully they'll fix this glitch soon. Thank you to the users who shared that option!
The app is garbage, so much you cannot do on it then what you can do with bigger companies apps. Plus, the credit company itself is horrible. I have great credit. I had their card for 4 years and 7 months. I never missed or was late on a payment. I paid my balance off and didn't use the card for a while, they dropped my credit line from $2400 to $300 without any warning, then a few months later they closed my account for inactivity. Again, no letter, email or text. Found out on Credit Karma.
Update: best credit card app and top 3 banking app ever! 👏👏No problems yet. Really don't expect any. Comparatively very easy to access, use and find stuff. I have 8 financial apps and have had some issues with all of them but none yet with Merrick. Thank you for your due diligence in building an app the correct way.
