- with a keyboard designed for ease, speed and accuracy -
- you will be pleasantly, even shockingly, surprised at how well, how precise, how easy, and how fast you can text with MessagEase. Our current champion’s speed is 82 WPM! That's 82 Words Per Minute (most people don't type nearly that fast with ten fingers!)

Since MessagEase is very different, you must spend a few minutes to get used to it. Hundreds of thousdands of people have, and they think it’s well worth doing so, since MessagEase saves them hours and hours of agony. With MessagEase you type exactly what you want. No more embarrassing auto-corrects; no more guessing!

We have lots of videos to help you become familiar with MessagEase quickly. Watch: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k3D3f3GWTSg

There are many more on our YouTube channel. http://www.youtube.com/user/messagease

Also, we have created MessagEase Game (Available for free on Google Play) to help you learn MessagEase and come up to speed with it while having fun. MessagEase Game contains several entertaining learning games.

MessagEase is the world's most innovative touch screen keyboard, revolutionizing text entry on mobile devices. It's the smartest keyboard for smartwatches, somartphones and tablets where the QWERTY keyboard is impractical or very inefficient. MessagEase is the ideal keyboard for Google Glass or any other wearable device.

MessagEase essentially has 9 large keys with an ingenious letter assignment that is designed to maximize your speed and to ease your writing. It may take you a few minutes to learn this new way of writing. But you'll save hours by texting and writing faster.

To see our instructions and descriptions, from the keyboard, Please press and hold on the Hand button.

****Please note: We have no way of responding to your comments if you post them on the market! If you have a question, please email us: [email protected]

MessagEase is based on many years of scientific research; it uses letter frequency and di-gram data to optimize the position of letters and characters on a novel keyboard with fewer, larger buttons. (That’s why the letter positions are NON-QWERTY!)

This novel letter position is often very shocking--even intimidating--at first. But persevere and soon you'll find it intuitive and very practical.

MessagEase keyboard also includes word prediction. To keep the package light, the word lists required for word prediction is provided in separate modules that you download optionally. Please long press on Hand and then go to Settings > Languages & Keyboards > Word Prediction for how to set it up.

Please also note that you can change the keyboard size by dragging up/down on the Hand button. You can also reshape and recolor the keyboard in various ways. See Settings for details. You can also change the font used for the keyboard; you can even re-assign new characters or hide and remove some of the characters: yes, it is customizable like no other keyboard you've ever seen.

If you like MessagEase, please tell others about it, and please make sure to rate and comment about it on Google Play.

Again, please write to us if you encounter any issue.

Thank you!

Unusable, which is so unfortunate. In terms of input principle, this thing is par excellence. The coding however is far short. It is not coded properly to work with modern versions of android. For instance, there has been a bug for years that causes infinite page reloads if enter is used for search in Chromium-base browsers. It's **one** small change to make, and they never have. It also glitches out in tons of apps. Please put some work into fixing these! It's a great KB, but frustrating af. Edit: I sent an email detailing the issue, as well as what I've been able to discover about its origins from testing. Let me know if you got it!

NO ADS, NO ADS NO ADS, & NO BEGGING MessagEase is a great keyboard for phones. It deffinitly has a significant learning curve, but if you have had enough of the inherent short comings of the usual QWERTY keyboards on phones, you will be rewarded if you stick to it. You get all the normal capabilities in only 9 keys, with tons of customizeable options, from size and colors, to the particular special characters you may wish to add, move or delete from the keyboard… all with one hand if you wish.

I found MessagEase years ago, when I got my first tablet Android and realized that the historical keyboard layout designed for mechanical typewriters really sucked when used on a touch screen.I've been happy with MessagEase ever since, even to the point of installing it on friends' phones when I help them with a technical issue, because a standard touch screen keyboard is so unpleasant. MessagEase is easy to learn and makes so much more sense!

Been using it for over ten years, and it hasn't failed me once. It's particularly useful with a broken screen, as the larger typing area makes all the letters writable. Highly recommended for everyone trying an alternative keyboard that respects your privacy.

Mostly I love it but lately it frequently cannot do voice recognition. Getting the word prediction window to reappear needs an easier swipe gesture. I have yet to find any way to contact support.

NO SHORTCUT TO SWITCH KEYBOARD? Sometimes I want to type two handed in qwerty..... Also, no theming or resizing of control buttons, which are ugly. No switching between left and right handed modes while using the board. No swipe scrolling on spacebar. Outdated design. Maybe you could develop faster if you open-sourced, if you did and got the features above, I'd donate.

I've used thrs app for several years across different phones and love it. Removing one star because it has not adapted well to my current Motorola G Stylus. The sizing on the screen is awkward and causes a lot of typos. Letters are not where expected or the overlap is too close or something? Hope there is a fix for it. I love being able to type without swiping the whole word.

with samsung and chrom browser when searching and clicking on enter using this keyboard the page just go back to the previous page. This occurs only with google search engine when you search something then try to add words to the searched sentence. very annoying. Hope you fix it soon

Love the app! Typing is just so much more convenient this way, however, I still can't figure out how to quickly switch to a different keyboard without going to settings. On the website it says "Tap and hold on any text field. An Android menu will pop up. Select Input Method and then select the input method you wish to switch to." but this method stopped working years ago. Can you please integrate a way to switch keyboards.

Steep learning curve, but well worth it. You'll be trading the excellent auto-complete of something like Gboard for the best one handed accuracy that you can get. This keyboard lets you hit any letter, number, and most symbols with one press or gesture. Consistently. Every time. Whenever I go back to a full QWERTY, I'm shook that I need to look @ the keys so much because the tap targets are so much smaller. Cons: No updates in a year, and trash emoji/stickers.

Actually writing this using messagease. Somewhat tricky to get osed to, but that trains the brain. Some gestures are not clear how to use them (like changing the language), interface is quite outdated, languages and tutorial game are downloaded as separate apps (could be in-app download). In short, there are some quirks, but I like the experience. And no annoyances like ads and paid nonsence!

best keyboard ever, I can't use a phone without it anymore. takes a bit to get used to, but once you are, it makes typing and editing text a breeze while only needing to use a single thumb, no need to reach awkwardly to a button on the other side of the screen. also has a wide selection of other languages you can set the keyboard to finally a keyboard that's actually designed to be used in a smartphone

I have been using this keyboard extensively for years, and it is definitely the best touchscreen keyboard I have ever used (and I tried about 8). In general, I have had almost no problems with it and I have recommended it to several friends. The only issues I have had with it are quite minor, such as the symbol key not allowing me to access some letters I would expect to find there and the emoji picker being pretty much terrible, but this barely affects me as I almost never use emojis.

I've been a huge fan of this keyboard, using it for over 4 years. Why only 3 stars? Word prediction can't be turned on in most applications due to a bug which causes double characters to appear and the keyboard to appear / disappear. This bug has existed for quite a while with no fix. If you can manage without word prediction, this is a great 5* keyboard that has many advantages. I just wish the word prediction issue could be fixed. ☹ Ovet 18 months since the last update CV and no fix Bye.

It takes a few days to get used to where all the letters and numbers are. But once you begin to get used to it, you already type much faster than ever before with much fewer mistakes. You have a comprehensive help and configuation. So, you can adjust MessagEase to type even more accurately and quickly than with the default configuration.

This app is fantastic. Read the documentation, use it for a few days (the training games are really helpful and fun), and you will never look at another keyboard again. The improvement in ease of use compared to other keyboards does not stop with text entry but extends to things like cursor control, editing, and macros. Highly recommended!

I have been using MessagEase for about a year. I am fully comfortable with it, but others are completely thrown when they see it. I have to hand my phone to others occasionally and it is a pain to have to switch to Gboard and back on those occasions. I would like to be able to easily switch to a simple Qwerty keyboard and back using the hand button.

I've been using this for a long time just because I like weird things, but when my phone broke and I had to use a replacement with a standard qwerty keyboard I realized how much more convenient MessagEase is, allowing me to insert lots of symbols, to type in different languages (human and programming) without annoying me with autocorrections, and to navigate text easily with movements... One of the first things I installed on my new phone, definitely recommend giving it a try

Wonderfully innovative. Best speech recognition I've found - in terms of both voice editing interface and raw accuracy. I know it is a strange ask, but I wish they had an option to flip to their own swiping-qwerty keyb. Message ease is unparalleled for one-handed operation, but when I have two hands available, there are times I want standard qwerty-swype, and it's a pain to have to switch default keyboards back and forth (in android settings).

Pet. F. Dec 13, 2018

I added £, the GBP sign, in settings but it fails to appear as a special character on the keyboard. Edit: no, it doesn't appear with the rest of the special characters... that's my complaint. Edit: This is a beautifully innovative input method; I see no rational reason to use a regular archaic type of keyboard on a mobile device, particularly once layed-out in the absurd "querty" fashion. I should love to switch to MessageEase, but it currently has three fatal flaws for me: the lack of multi-word predictions, a personalized dictionary, and a sensible word correction algorism. These features mean that my typing speed with SwiftKey - in which I can type complete sentences with just a few key presses. - massively exceeds my speed with MessageEase in its current implementation. For this reason I reluctantly must hold-off using MessageEase for the time being.

great idea and in some scenario could be very handsome, specially for "one letter at the time" purposes. Could be very small yet useful for typing. Still, no swipe technology which I prefer more. Great app with many settings and shortcuts (and no ads!). For people with disabilities - must have. My gratitude to developer. S/He did a great job

Really useful keyboard. It makes typing with one hand a bliss, and the bigger keys make typing easier for those who are clumsy, have poor vision or big fingers. Besides, it has a ton of useful features, just to name a few: macros, zoom mode, letter combination (to get extra letters, including those for scientific purpose ƒ(ω) = Δπ ...). That said, it takes time to get used to it, more so as most people are helplessly used to qwerty. The only bad thing is that their tutorial game lags.

Ant. Z. May 17, 2020

I've gotten so used to this keyboard that it is hard for me to use any other. However every day it has more bugs: the keyboard appears/disappears rapidly, letters are repeated when starting to write, the select text function to copy is not working. I had to start using a different keyboard after trying everything to continue using it. Really sad it became so buggy.

Jer. A. G. Jan 24, 2021

Yes, there's a learning curve--but, if you have a little patience, you'll find this sooo much more convenient than a regular keyboard. I have it installed on my daily driver and my backup phone. I can't express how happy I am to see that the app is still being actively developed--I was dreading having to go back to QWERTY if this ever stopped working.

Eri. Sep 9, 2019

Best keyboard by far. I've used it exclusively for 7 years across 5 phones. I only (and have before) wish they'd add an option to make the spacebar taller without enlarging all the keys. My thumb naturally hovers higher than the central key ("o"), but I don't want to make all the keys huge to translate the keyboard up a few mm. Still - the best.

Cha. C. Feb 16, 2022

Not sure if phone or app related, but getting a lot of typos since switching to samsung s21+. super used to this app since I've been using it since 2014.

A. G. u. Feb 8, 2019

Been away from this keyboard for about 3 years due to a poor experience with Windows Phone. In less than few hours the finger memory kicked back and in no time I was back. Quick and neat! I do not use word prediction as it not reliable enough and the design is not for my taste! But overall nice keyboard.

Fantastic keyboard, especially for code work. Could use modernization of emoji options, but that's a trivial problem.
